Questa è la settimana "calda", l'ultima prima delle elezioni di giorno 15 e 16 giugno.

Sul blog del gruppo LiberaMente trovate i programmi dei 3 candidati a sindaco.

Scaricateli, leggeteli e ..................... meditate!

La scelta del sindaco deve esser attenta e ponderata; è un momento di altissima democrazia da non sottovalutare e nemmeno da banalizzare.

Noi siamo cittadini in quanto detentori del diritto al voto!

Questa è l'ultima settimana in cui potremo riflettere da bravi cittadini quali siamo (o quali dovremmo essere! ) sulle proposte elettorali presentate dai 3 candidati a sindaco: Gero Accardo, Giovanni Cuttone e Angelo Mistretta (in rigoroso ordine alfabetico!).

Scorrazzando per YouTube mi sono ritrovato "tra le mani" un documentario su Rita Atria, una mia giovane concittadina morta in nome della giustizia e della lotta alla mafia.

Blue Jays horrible loss to the A's

So I'm sitting in class right now. It's my last class on the last day of classes. My prof is struggling with the DVD player. Watching the Pens vs. Sens game and the Jays vs. A's game (both rhyme hehe). I realized two things in the series against the A's. One is of good scouting and another is of poor scouting. Both involve centre-fielder Ryan Sweeney.

Good Scouting
Tonight we are up early in the 3rd. All three runs came in the first inning. Both hits that brought in runs were headed in the direction of Ryan Sweeney. Both situations have runners on base. First Vernon Wells singled on a fly ball to Ryan Sweeney. Eckstein came into score and Stewart went to second. The Blue Jays must have seen some inability in the throwing to home plate of Ryan Sweeney because they went right back there. Aaron Hill went back to Sweeney on a sac fly. This sac fly brought in Stewart and Wells. Frank Thomas made it to third. Maybe we can see more of this aggressive scouting after a poor loss at home because of scouting.

Poor Scouting
Ryan Sweeney was batting a .400 before going up to bat in the top of the 9th. On deck was Travis Buck, who was batting a .070 before while waiting. You have one player on base. In my opinion, a smart team would have told Accardo to walk Sweeney and go for the better bet against Buck. Accardo wasn't told to walk Sweeney. Sweeney hit a triple and the run came in to score. We lost the game. These kinds of scouting problems will prove very costly as we do battle with the Yanks and BoSox for a position in the post-season.
