La rola se grabó en estudio hasta 1980, después de resultar un éxito en los conciertos desde el 78, en la segunda recopilación de la banda. Una rola que se ajusta a cualquier camino.

Buddy Guy’s new album “Skin Deep” was released this past Tuesday and the 30 second samples on I-Tunes sound great. This is his first recorded album with all original tunes. If you have never seen Guy in concert, you are so missing out.

The Rolling Stones are suing rapper Lil Wayne for his song “Playing with Fire.” The Stones reps say it’s a clear derivative of their song with the same title and he used it without their permission.

The game's not difficult compared to its forerunners, even on Expert. I beat it in about two hours, and only failed one song because my little brothers were running around the house screaming like madmen. For those who like Hammer-ons and Pull-offs, this is definately your game. Almost every song has HOPOs galore. I've started working on getting 5 stars on every song and have already gotten over halfway through with that. It does have good replay quality, I keep coming back again and again to play it, I can't get enough of Aerosmith. The interviews are also cool, and definate keepers for die-hard Aerosmith fans.

Não me vejo, em nenhum momento da minha vida, sem sentir vontade de ouvir uma canção.

Eu ouço tanta música que eu resolvi me cadastrar em um site que mantém o registro de tudo que eu ouço. Aqui, sinta-se a vontade para fuçar. Gosto bastante desse last.fm. Lá eu posso procurar artistas relacionados e ficar horas e horas ouvindo as recomendações deveras pertinentes que o site propõe.

Voltando ao assunto, eu e a música, mais especificamente o fuckin' rock n' roll, tivemos um começo tardio. Eu considero alguns marcos na minha vida musical:

Por volta dos 10 anos de idade, fui obrigado por minha mãe a entrar nas aulas de piano que ela tanto adorava. Aulas de canto e coral e aquela professora que parecia ter saido de um calabouço sujo de uma produção secundária da Disney não me apeteciam, acreditem. Larguei, na verdade bombei, fui mal de propósito e, provavelmente, destruí toda a chance de me tornar um músico de verdade. Perceba que, neste momento, eu não me interessava em ouvir música. O que passava nas rádios? Alguma música muito tosca do Michael Jackson.

O termo pré-adolescência ainda existe? Pois é, nessa época, eu aprendi a escutar rádio. Eu viva ouvindo Jovem Pan e Transamérica em casa. Por algum motivo indeterminado, o rock internacional me agradava muito mais do que qualquer coisa nacional que passasse na época. Comecei a ouvir os meus primeiros compact discs. Até hoje, eu tenho, em algum lugar escondido da minha casa, o primeiro volume de uma série chamada Planet Hits. Só clássicos.

A MTV me encontrou poucos anos depois e com ela Raimundos, a banda era de Brasília, a letra era suja e as guitarras pela primeira vez fizeram algum sentido na minha pobre cabeça juvenil. O Disk MTV com a gostosa da Sabrina bombava nessa época, assim como meus hormônios e esse programa me apresentou uma quantidade enorme de boas bandas em fases ridículas. Exemplo? Metallica tinha lançado o Load e os clipes de Until it Sleeps e Unforgiven II eram apresentados todos os dias no Disk pela gostoooosa da Sabrina. Hormônios...

Aerosmith e Guns n' Roses eram a trilha sonora do início do meu 2º grau. Eu ouvia sem parar. Nessa época, eu começei a aprender a tocar violão na marra. Autodidata com uma porção de amigos, dicas eram trocadas e músicas diferentes eram tocadas todas as vezes que nos encontrávamos.

Tudo mudou quando eu entrei numa loja para quebrar um tabu. Eu ia comprar um cd do diabólico Iron Maiden para ver no que ia dar. Entrei e saí com o Brave New World na mão e, em casa, mostrei ao meu pai com aquela cara de eu-não-quero-saber-o-que-você-acha e ele me deu um tapinha nas costas pouco ligando para o meu feito. Quase furei aquela porra de tanto ouvir. Iron Maiden é uma das minhas bandas preferidas até hoje, sem clichês aqui por favor.

Com os meus 16 anos, frequentava os showzinhos aqui em Brasília e já gostava da "cena" candanga das bandas de Metal. Ouvia Blind Guardian, Helloween, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Angra, Hammerfall e Edguy. Obviamente, eu era zoado pelos meus amigos que já curtiam a praia do death e thrash metal. Eu merecia, os caras deviam usar mais produtos capilares que a minha mãe e cantavam como donzelas. Paralelamente, escondido de todos meus amigos metaleiros, eu nutri uma verdadeira paixão enrustida por clássicos como o Deep Purple e Eric Clapton.

Aos poucos eu comecei a apreciar algumas coisas mais pesadas e parei de achar que o André Mattos tinha a voz mais bonita do metal. Voltei a ouvir coisas como Pantera, Megadeth e Metallica old school e comecei a procurar estilos alternativos dentro do rock e metal para ver se algo me agradava. Numa dessas madrugadas da vida (como as coisas eram mais difíceis com a conexão discada), eu baixei um cover de Rush feito pelo Dream Theater da música Red Barchetta e ela mudou minha vida. Meu repertório de música só foi aumentar com a popularização da banda larga, até então, meus arquivos de mp3 eram escassos e só fui descobrir mesmo que Dream Theater era minha banda preferida algum tempo depois, na faculdade, quando fui apresentado ao cd Scenes from a Memory.

A minha fixação por DT fez a minha curiosidade e a minha sede por coisas novas aumentarem exponencialmente. Buscava por referências nas músicas e descobri que eu gostava desde Beatles até Genesis, passando por Yes e Pink Floyd. Hoje, mesmo com muito menos tempo para me dedicar, eu continuo com a mesma sede por novidades e continuo renovando meu gosto musical a todo instante.

It is not without flaws, but overall it has been a positive experience. I am usually roaming around the area where 3G coverage is available. Once in a while, I noticed where the 3G signals disappeared and forced me to be living on the Edge. To be honest, it is not a horrible experience on the Edge network. After all, I had the original iPhone for a little more than a year on the Edge network.

In addition to all of that, I had answered two emails prior writing this post. Here I go sending a tiny picture and this posting through the Edge network.

]]> <![CDATA[Sleepy...]]> http://tikatoo.wordpress.com/?p=35 Tue, 22 Jul 2008 04:23:33 +0000 tikatoo http://tikatoo.wordpress.com/?p=35 Today was a pretty good day.  I'm really tired now because I've done so much today with not as much sleep as I would have liked.  But I still need to put away my laundry and groceries and get ready for bed....I need to fit an Aerosmith jam session somewhere in between all of this and sleepy time though :)  I'm going through withdrawals.

I took my grandma to a couple of doctor appointments today.  She had a follow-up appointment with her surgeon to take out her staples and ask any questions she might have had.  It went well and she doesn't have to wear her bandage anymore.  Her other appointment was to meet a lady to get fitted for a prosthesis.  They have changed so much over the years and now you could even tell if a person was wearing one or not.  She got this bra today with padding in it so now it looks like she does in fact have two boobs.  I'm really happy that she's herself again.  She can actually go out into public now lol.  Not that she couldn't or anything, but she just didn't want to.  We also fit in shopping and eating lunch before and after her appointments.  Bonding time with my grandma is one of the things I crave sometimes because we are so much alike it's crazy.  Sometimes I get along better with her than my own mother. 

I also had my checkup today too.  Pap smears can only be so great so that was probably the worst part of my day.  They never hurt with me so it's nothing.  Just something I have to get done once a year.  But I also talked to him about my blood sugar problem.  He said it's definitely hypoglycemia but there's nothing they can do about it.  I'm just supposed to eat smaller and more frequent meals and hope that takes care of it.  So I'm working on that.  It's going to take some adjusting but I think I can handle the change.  I'm also trying to eat more than a bird and make sure that everything I put into my mouth is at least somewhat healthy.  We'll see how it goes.

Went swimming tonight for the first time in I don't know how long.  Scary thing to see me in a bathing suit but I don't care.  It was fun.

I'm gonna go chill and jam to some Steven Tyler.   Hehe.  Peace.
