These are from Philly though on my last day on Kooza before the teardown, I haven't gotten around to taking pictures in Chicago yet but I had a few unprocessed ones from my blitzkrieg in Philly's historic 9th Street Italian Market.

I'm working with new ideas of post-processing in Photoshop to liven up the colors using overlayed colors and some of the results come out pretty good but I'm still working on it.

You can see the fuller Philly set on Flickr now with added Market Street pictures by Clicking Here

First post. How nice. This place was dead for a year, exactly one to be precise (and it looked very different too) - I last posted here in June 2007 which was incidentally the first post too. The post, if you're curious was a link to this viral video and has been deleted as I'd like to make a new beginning.

I have in the past started numerous blogs with varied intentions but have failed to maintain them, eventually closing or abandoning them. One such example is my photoblog on aminus3 which has been inactive for quite a while although I haven't yet given up on it. A lack of time and patience are the excuses (genuine excuses) I'd like to use. And like always, I hope this blog doesn't die a premature death.

I discovered Aminus3 today. Flickr is great but I'm fed up with it showing such small images. Now that I save most of my photos in all their memory-consuming high-res glory, it seems a shame to let them go to waste and display measly compressed versions that are only 500 pixels wide.

The idea is that you post one photo every day, photoblog-style. I'm using this one as a portfolio of my favourite shots from the four months I've been in Melbourne. There's only 48 up so far, but rest assured I'll upload more when the pace at work starts to wind down. Which will, I imagine, be half an hour before I leave next Monday.

I like how it displays the EXIF data next to the image, despite randomly adding an extra 19-35mm to the focal length. Plus there's no clutter, no ads and no sad community things. The only objections I have are the sicky colour scheme (pink - why?) and the fact you can't disable comments. Oh, and you can only upload one image at a time. Still, it's free, easy to use and visually 'zen', so compared to the other options out there, it's the winner by far.

To fully depict how pretty and fun this town is. Though it has this appallingly poor area that I was discouraged to go into unless I just wanted to get dismembered. But this time around I found this treasure I was never told about. San Antonio has this Riverwalk that gives it this air of Venice but Texas style. I was just walking along looking for a store to fuel up on Rockstar or Redbull or something on my day off from Clown Support. I come upon a bridge and expect to see a river, just not THIS:

Once again while at work on Cirque du Soleil's Saltimbanco, I was loged in a classy hotel where I was eating some expensive food, living in the lap of luxury in Shreveport, Louisiana. A rich gambling town, sort of a mini-Vegas with ambitions of opulence and decadence. Not 200 feet from my hotel was abject and desperate poverty that has no reason to be in such a rich city.

I finally got around to processing and uploading some pictures from my trip to Little Rock Arkansas while working on Saltimbanco. I was attracted to the extreme poverty - to me anyway, American poverty, makes Canadian poverty look like the middle class though I wouldn't compare homelessness in the cold Canadian winter with any other civilized country

Check out my blipfoto:
http://blipfoto.com/seelikepj

and my Aminus3:
http://seelikepj.aminus3.com/

My pages are very noobish compared to the other users.
But, that's okay with me!

So, today, I woke up at 10:30.

Yikes!

I stayed up pretty late
trying to finish Paolo's hospital visit entry.

It's pretty husky.

Well, actually, I woke up at 8:45.
I had another breakfast date
with tony and carlos ::wink::.

NICE!!

But, when my alarm went off,
my throat was a bit scratchy.
I wasn't feeling up to it.

I went back to sleep and tony called me at 9:00.
I told him i wasn't coming along anymore.
He told me he would be visiting later on.

I went back to sleep.

The sound of James Brown's voice woke up again at 10:30.
Tony called to say he and carlos would be coming over now.
That's when i got out of bed.

They came over and we talked a bit.
A bit about college,
scholarships,
starcraft2,
blogging,
and all that stuff.

Gooooood Times.

After they left, I had to find out about college bills.
That's actually my hobby.
I read about college billing.

But not really.

I do not enjoy looking at college billing stuff.

I'm trying to find out my bill for the spring semester.
I've found the bill on the UMBC site,
but not on the e-billing site.

It's annoying dudes!
I tried to call the billing office,
but they did not pick up any of my three calls.

I also have to try to get some scholarships.
I need money.

I've been looking at those scholarship books,
but today Tony told me about scholarship.com
and it's great!

After giving some info to the site,
it found a bunch of scholarships i can apply for.
Well, actually i can't yet.
because my GPA kinda sucks rectums.

Hopefully, my cumulative will be boosted
after my next semester.

Then i will wreck rectums.

I think i should just do FAFSA.
hopefully i'll get SOMETHING from that.

On my first and now defunct photoblog I had posted some shots I had taken of Drunkm0nk. He's a friend from work who practices Parkour and Free Running and really good at it and last summer I took some pictures of him during a practice session with my dipshit point and shoot Nikon Coolpix camera, not the best camera for high velocity action such as Parkour. I hope to one day get to get some shooting done with my new camera, a more able camera for this type of hyper-kenetic activity.

But despite my limited equipment, my pictures turned out well enough after some processing to get some good comments from renowned French photographer Jean Michel Berts. Damn I wish I had taken screen-shots of that, it had really given me encouragement.

Here are the links to the series I reposted on my new photoblog, which I still don't like - but I think it's more that I'm never quite satisfied with my work.

I'm currently processing a series I did on an archaeological site of one of the very first Hydro-Electric dams in Québec. I hope the pictures turn out well and I'll post about it here soon.

Almost a month ago, I started posting about the secret J.J.Abrams movie project called Cloverfield. Well the traffic just started pouring in. So much traffic that my web host pulled the plug on my site. They sell me 400 GIGABITES of bandwidth per month, but I cannot exceed 4.5% CPU usage. What's the fucking point? That's like building a 16 lane highway and only allowing 3 or 4 cars to use it. Made no fucking sense to me

So I decided to screw playing for my domain name and go back to free hosting plans. I tried to export my old site to the new one but myriad of technical issues and political issues got in the way so I opted, in my impatience, to chuck it all and start over. Tabula Raza. So here it begins… Darkly Dreaming David is born…
