由名模海蒂克隆主持的決戰時裝伸展台 目前到了第五季 在旅遊生活頻道撥出

主要是由各新人設計師們來角逐冠軍與在時裝週展露頭角的機會

其實節目評審室搭棚很簡單 也許沒有ANTM來的華麗過程 

不過節目較真實的是可以看到參賽者們發想與製作的過程 也可以一窺時裝SHOW後台的面貌與型成

這節目同時也被許多電視節目惡搞XD 特別是看過影集的更能懂搞笑之處

American's Next Top Model 超級名模生死鬥

在V台播出後 開啟大家對MODEL與時尚認知的美國實境選秀節目

+又是維基的介紹+   由超模Tyra banks主持 目前在世界各地都有姐妹節目

例如GNTM(德國版) 甚至連中國都有了呢

ANTM主要是先從初選淘汰剩13個人 之後開始進行每週淘汰 最後剩下一人

可以得到化妝品COVER GIRL的代言以及與知名MODEL經紀公司簽約

這節目好看的地方在於拍攝的實際過程 每集都會有一次上課以及拍攝硬照

 C7 冠軍CariDee

每次拍攝硬照都可以看到化妝師與攝影師的努力以及與參賽者們的互動

有些主題總是很有創意 每次最期待就是節目尾聲時的照片發表

而女孩們除了上課外也都需要接受些挑戰 例如在寒冰中攝影 水中攝影 或是走特殊台步等等

而在倒數五集或六集時就會出國 去一些目前知名的時尚首都 (如米蘭 曼谷 東京 巴黎)

在當地體驗MODEL的工作面談與文化

雖然因為實境秀的關係 總要安排些女孩們間的勾心鬥角來炒爆點

但近幾集的肥皂劇情以及冠軍護航跟提前外露讓節目被批得很慘 但過程還是很有可看性就是了

It's so sad that our free to air was still showing cycle 9 when cycle 10 is long over, though I have to say that i prefer cycle 9 so much more than cycle 10. I love Janet from cycle 9, too bad she was ousted out so early in the game!

Anya on The Cut

It's the news I've been waiting to hear!  Adorable Anya from last season of America's Next Top Model has been signed at Elite.

With the fall shows just weeks away, I guess we'll find out soon enough if she's going to be a real model or just a Top Model.

A Sony (tv) hoje me deixou bem brava. Estava assistindo o America's Next Top Model (ANTM) quando eles simplesmente pularam a parte das fotos! E para a surpresa minha, já no fim da eliminação de uma das concorrentes eles vão para o break comercial... e voltam começando o bloco anterior todo de novo!!! Ou seja, perdi uma parte e assisti a mesma coisa duas vezes. Já não bastassem os programas nos quais a Sony esquece completamente de colocar a legenda, agora tem mais essa. Faça me o favor hein?

Sobre o ANTM, ainda: acho que a Whitney deveria ter saído. Tudo bem que a Tyra queira uma modelo tamanho GG, mas meu! Fala sério, ela não tem nada de top. Mas ainda assim, gostaria que ela saísse depois da Renee, ô mulher chata! Se acha a última árvore da Amazônia, fala mal de todo o mundo... e nem é tão boa assim. Humpf. Bitch. Eu gosto da Jael e da Natasha, acho que porque nenhuma das duas bate bem da cabeça. rs Mas acho que quem tem tudo para ganhar é a Brit. Vamos ver...

Very much like a certain American reality show I frequently mention in my reviews, the contestants have to perform a 30 second promo (Poochie: "that we've [You mean the writers?  Because I wouldn't trust you to write my obituary at my funeral.-Ed.] written for you") for their future shows ("future shows").  The locations are all over Beemer (read: the Strip, and the following will seem as superficial as when Food Network tapes in South Beach and calls it "Miami").  Bobby and/or Poochie will direct the remaining frat members.  Oy vey.

Lisa prepares...

to tape in Aureole in Mandalay Bay. Yes, where the Mission: Impossible wine cellar is. Yes, Lisa will officially be a "wine angel."

That's what I think he said.

Lisa has to stop on the wine cellar line, say a line to camera, repeat.

Poochie, who calls Lisa "Lise" (I hate when people try to give others "hip" nicknames), notices that she stumbles and violated a certain show's trademark, but I didn't say that.  She trips up and says she lost confidence.

She (supposedly) leaves disappointed.  (Bad editing shows us that Poochie says she's "burnin' daylight."  Stop trying to be hip, Poochie.  You're not.  That's why your character was killed off on The Simpsons.)

Meanwhile Aaron meets Bobby at the Planet Hollywood hotel.

He walks down a set path where a camera follows him first.  He gets it after (bad editing) two tries.

This part reminds me so much of last year's Design Star promo.

Food Network: stealing from sister networks since 2008!  Aaron nails his promo.

Meanwhile K goes to Balley's Jubilee Theater (warning: second link has boobs!  But they're covered)...

where he meets Poochie and some showgirls and a tuxedo.  They all didn't just meet at a bar or something?

He also has to do choreography.  Call me when Bobby wears fishnets and feathers on his next promo for Throwdown, okay?  Supposedly K screws up the dialog and the choreography.

As this short first part summary ends, I have come to the conclusion that Poochie is a horrible director.  Bobby is an okay one.  That is, if he was directing Throwdown, but whatever.

Have you ever noticed how often that phrase is used on reality TV?

I only wish I could use that phrase more in real life.

• Teacher: I'm sorry, you made a B+ on your paper. No A.
• Me: how can that be!? I worked so hard!
• Teacher: Well, I'm sorry.
• (me, throwing a stapler)
• Me: *%&$ I"M NOT HERE TO MAKE FRIENDS!

Toccara Jones was one of my top favorite model contestants on the 3rd season of ANTM, but alas, she was trashed and bitched at for her size, which excuse me, they wanted a little of that somethin' somethin' on their show, and then they hire bitchy stylists who put her in that bowling alley getup and pinch her 'cause she dares to express her pain. Fuck yo couch, bitches!

Until they fully broke this poor girl down, she was serving it up sideways and girl wasn't even plus size in my eyes. She had a beautiful body, but then got eliminated. Whatevs, their loss.

THEN, she went on Celebrity Fit Club and broke down in front of the judges. THEN she apologized. The fuck? She shoulda just hauled ass and gotten a candy bar. None of this apologizing crap. Oh well, I won't hold it against you, T.

So anyway, she unveiled an even hotter body (see above), as if that could be possible. She is and always was divine in my books, but if she did it to be healthier then that's great. Three cheers for Miss Jones. She did it her way.

...But Tocarra is proving that to be wrong. She's looking OVERLY sexy in these pictures for Vogue Italia. Bad gyal for real!

How dope is that? She's not only proving that there IS life after a reality show, but also that there is room for a plus size model in the fashion world (can you believe she's considered 'plus size' in the fashion industry? Madness!)

Threadtrend was invited to the World of Wonder storefront gallery's opening night reception for Homo-A-Gogo, a photo exhibit by Thairin Smothers. The series is a collection of shots of go-go boys in various states of undress. This event was definitely not G -ated and featured go go boys gyrating on one another, but we can never turn down free drinks. Plus, at the reception, we ran into Mercedes from America's Next Top Model.

Women from the dalit class, or untouchables, who previously had to do things like carry human poo in pots on their heads, are attending a UN conference in NYC and doing some modelling.

Tyra can now move on from plus-size to a new cause!

Not sure of what would look best on Jade, I went on a hunt for some additional pictures of Jade's hair. I have to admit I think Jade was right that her hair looks best long. I really like these first three. The others are so-so, but they should have kept her hair dark definitely!

 

When I see the word “Fierce”, immediately my brain leads me to episodes of Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model. So here’s a fashion sketch incorporating the two shows together. Model + Apparel. They’re always in one piece anyways. I am watching too much reality shows.

And I also remember I never got the spelling of “Fierce” right until I was seven. As I was typing the word “Fierce”, I slowed down for a few seconds. I used to spell it like this: Feirce! [FEY-US]

Steven Meisel, "State of Emergency" series for Italian Vogue

Pairing the works of late fashion photographer (in reality, a misunderstood surrealist master) Guy Bourdin with the glossy resume of his less worthy successor, Steven Meidel is like comparing apples and blood oranges. The strange fruit, an ancient citrus hybrid, with its bitter flavor and mesmerizing crimson color, shares an almost inescapable fact with a Bourdin "still life," leaving behind an unforgettable bruise that last for weeks and even years without the hope of amnesia as anesthesia. Still, the nameless collagists at The Image Archive wants us to believe in their nonexistent dialogue through the rhetoric of the photo essay (see video below), inflating the blase beauty of one with the iconographic might of the other. Establishing space in the first few seconds, we journey from physical landmarks to geographies less familiar, as shadows and shoulders collide into the unknown. It's a cleverly edited video, a readymade cliff-notes introduction that should, at least, invite viewers to approach two separate careers with enough biographical history on hand.

While I'll credit Meidel for taking liberties with the typical fashion shoot, tackling contemporary political sentiments through high production values replete with statuesque supermodels and trendy couture, his radicalism whimpers like a caged beast, suitable for city billboards and the big heads at Conde Nast HQ---wholly accessible, rarely affective. Representative of his oeuvre, the photograph above intends to capture feminine duress under the police state, but what we have sadly is merely a pretty face under the boot of a fashionable fascist. Relying heavily on photogenic poses, Meidel never reaches for the tiny detail that would complicate the very subject of our attention. Terror evaporates just as her doll eyes signify nothing but the camera's reflection. In Bourdin's photograph, the curious finger on the ivory doorbell makes you wonder in fear of the revelation just to the left.

Bourdin, on the other hand, applied strenuous pressure to his creative process, like a ringmaster to a harem of Botticelli angels, he churned out snapshots of bodies, mangled and tested to their limits. No longer just mannequins primed to sell clothes, these were daredevil artists ready for the next Cirque du Soleil audition. Adding to this "enactment of the impossible," Tim Blanks (notable fashion writer) sums up Bourdin's death-drive:

Throughout his career, he remained an artist manqué, composing and reordering the elements he saw through his viewfinder until they matched the pictures he imagined in his head (and sketched in his notebooks). Except they never did.

As noted by other critics, Bourdin was obsessed with scenarios conjured by a childhood watching the film-noirs imported to France from Hollywood and informed by schooling in European art history. Never hesitating on aesthetic honesty over sartorial concerns, his repertoire (yes, i used the taboo R word) desires for a world of cinematic conceits, where female figures are obscured by frames and forces that pay little attention to their presence. It's almost like a picture taken by someone who happens to walk by a gruesome murder, indifferent to sensationalism, slightly aroused but never masturbatory. Comparisons to Stanley Kubrick are apt, but these are facile bullet points that could point to anyone, such as Godard or Varda, instead, a painting by Magritte should suffice as a teasing doorway to Bourdin's infinite fantasies, which themselves are self-effacing artifices. We recognize the amount of hard work behind the illusion, though looking at a mirror doesn't necessarily mean we're safe.

Whitney Thompson it is!!! The 20 yr-old student from Atlanta, GA is described as the first plus-size model to win America's Next Top Model. Finally, it's about time right you guys? Damn, she's soo gorgeous in this pic.

One day I was wandering through the farmer's market in Union Square when I saw a group of young people gathered and emitting a loud murmuring. "Is it a protest?" I thought. I stared reflexively.

And finally I saw an unusually tall woman staring down with a practiced, closed lip smile, a smile of embarrassment. She wore layers of make-up worthy of a drag queen. Is she an athlete? Is she a model?

No. Fucking. Way. It's Tyra Banks. The murmuring grew louder as she walked towards me (a pure coincidence, I'm sure). And as I stared, I realized that in this over-crowded farmer's market, there was a circle of nothing surrounding Tyra -- no baby carriages, no tourists, no well, me's. What the fuck made her so special? Why didn't she have to deal with the same elbow-to-elbow crowd that the rest of us did? As I walked past, still staring, her over-sized bodyguard made some comment in my general direction to stay out of the way and lightly touched my shoulder.

I wanted to scream at him and her -- "this is ludicrous." I wanted to scream, "Union buster!" (Tyra refused to recognize the writers' union at ANTM.)

And I actually considered it but fear of arrest or being roughed up won out.

I'd seen a couple celebrities before but they always did the New York thing of blending in and I always did the Jersey thing of openly staring, mouth typically agape. But this was my first brush with Celebrity. Celebrity fucking sucks.
