Some exciting news has been released from the Antony and the Jonhsons site today. His site reports:

"August 26th 2008: On October 7th, Antony and the Johnsons will release "Another World" EP on cd and vinyl. Below is the press release:

Antony and the Johnsons emerged onto the international stage in 2005 with their breakthrough I Am A Bird Now. The group were awarded the Mercury Prize in the UK and toured the world. Since then Antony has participated on tracks with Bjork on her latest album "Volta", appeared in the Leonard Cohen documentary "I'm Your Man", featured as vocalist with disco act Hercules and Love Affair, recorded for the Todd Haynes bio epic of Bob Dylan "I'm Not There", and collaborated with Charles Atlas on a European tour of their stage spectacle "TURNING".

Now Antony and the Johnsons have emerged with a new album, ‘The Crying Light’ which will be released January 21st 2009. "Another World" is the first single, and it will be released as part of the five-song Another World EP which is being released on October 7th.

On "Another World", Antony sings of a disappearing world. The EP also includes "Shake That Devil". Part exorcism and part Shangri La, Antony calls out shape-shifting perpetrators and banishes them one by one. Two other songs, "Crackagen" and "Sing For Me" are pastoral and surreal. Finally the epic "Hope Mountain" closes the EP, an episodic narrative set after a flood; people gather on a mountain to witness the emergence of a luminous girl.

So Excited!!!

I år var Hope I Die Virgin først ut til å spille, mye fordi de betraktes som et up-and-coming band. De har vært undergrunn et par år allerede, står kanskje i startgropa til noe mer, er ihvertfall midt i tida når det gjelder sjanger: indie, shoegaze, postpunk, litt sånn ungt og sårt og desperat.

De overbeviste ikke verst på Eldorado: I overetasjen kjentes lyden som en syklon under glasskuppelen, et par eldre folk skyndte seg mot salene med hender over ørene. To av låtene kan du laste ned gratis fra Urørt her.

Etterpå så jeg den fantastiske konsertfilmen Lou Reed’s Berlin, som dessverre ikke får ordinær kinooppsetning i Norge. Men dvden skal være like om hjørnet, ifølge fr.martinsen er datoen 7. oktober.

For meg var høydepunktet låta Candy Says med den überfølsomme sangeren Antony, og utrolig nok fant jeg nettopp dette klippet på youtube. Den vakre sangen, det barnslig runde ansiktet som liksom ikke passer til stemmen, de urolig tvinnende hendene kamera stadig dveler ved – du kan få tårer i øynene av mindre, og til slutt ser vi Lou Reed bare stå der og se på sangeren, før han rister på hodet og sier lavt: Antony.

Baharuddin dan Abdullah Zaini tak lain adalah mantan anggota Komisi IX dari Fraksi Partai Golkar, kolega Antony. "Saat itu ada pertemuan, yaitu Baharuddin, Hamka Yandhu, dan saya. Baharuddin mengatakan kepada saya, bagaimana itu menerima uang kok dimakan sendiri? ujar Antony ketika memberi kesaksian dalam persidangan dengan terdakwa Burhanuddin Abdullah di Pengadilan Khusus Tindak Pidana Korupsi, tadi malam.

Dia mengatakan pertemuan itu dilakukan di Restoran Barara di Summit Mas Tovver, Jakarta, tetapi tak disebutkan kapan persisnya kejadian tersebut. Baharuddin sendiri disebut Hamka Yandhu, juga mantan anggota Komisi IX DPR dari Fraksi Partai Golkar, telah menerima uang Rp300 juta dari BI ketika menjabat sebagai anggota Komisi DC periode 1999-2004 terkait dengan upaya penyelesaian kasus BLBI dan amendemen bank sentral itu.

Selain itu, Antony mengungkapkan, Abdullah Zaini juga melakukan hal serupa, yaitu meminta uang tersebut melalui Hamka Yandhu dalam rangka amendemen UU BPK. Dia mengatakan setelah itu dia ditelepon terus-menerus oleh sekretaris mereka untuk meminta uang tersebut. Hal itu, tuturnya, membuat dirinya tidak bisa bekerja dengan baik setelah menjabat sebagai Wakil Gubernur Jambi sejak Agustus 2005. "Saya hanya punya gaji Rp6,5 juta. Dari mana saya bisa menyediakan Rp500juta?"

Anthony menilai dalam hal ini terjadi barter antara BPK dan DPR terkait dengan pembahasan UU BPK. Menurut Antony, pasal yang diubah terkait dengan perpanjangan masa jabatan ketua, wakil ketua, dananggota BPK dengan capaian usia 67 tahun. Karena merasa tidak memiliki uang, Antony tidak memenuhi permintaan Baharuddin. Menurut dia, penolakannya itu berbuntut pada pencantuman nama dirinya dalam laporan BPK tentang aliran dana BI kepada sejumlah anggota DPR.

Dia juga membantah bahwa dirinya-seperti disebut oleh Hamka Yandhu- sebagai orang yang menginstruksikan pembagian uang ke anggota Komisi DC DPR periode 1999-2004. Antony menjelaskan dirinya tak memiliki wewenang melakukan hal itu. Kesaksian tersebut berlawanan dengan apa yang disampaikan Hamka Yandhu bahwa Antony adalah orang yang menyuruhnya untuk membagi uang kepada seluruh anggota Komisi DC, yang membidangi keuangan.

Kesaksian Hamka juga menyebutkan bahwa Antony jugalah yang menentukan berapa saja jumlah uang yang harus dibagikan kepada setiapfraksi yang saat itu berjumlah 10. Termasuk kepada M.S. Kaban (Fraksi PBB), dan Paskah Suzetta (Fraksi Partai Golkar) yang kini menjabat Menteri PPN/Ketua Bappenas. Mantan Kepala Biro Gubernur BI Rusli Simanjuntak mengatakan bahwa Antony yang meminta uang Rpl5 miliar pada Juni 2003 untuk sosialisasi mengenai penyelesaian kasus BLBI. Uang itu digunakan untuk sosialisasi kepada internal fraksi dan konstituennya.

Menurut Rusli, nama Antony men-cuat setelah Aulia Pohan, mantan Deputi Gubernur BI, menyuruhnya untuk menghubungi Antony terkait dengan penyelesaian politis kasus BLBI. Dia mengatakan pemberian uang pun dilakukan empat kali, dua kali di antaranya di rumah Antony yaitu kawasan Gandaria Tengah, Jakarta Selatan. Pemberian terakhir diberikan pada Agustus 2003.

Selain menghadirkan Antony, Hamka dan Rusli, persidangan kemarin juga menghadirkan dua man-tan anggota Komisi K DPR dari Fraksi PKB, yaitu Amru Al Mutazim dan Ali Arsyad, yang masing-masing menerima uang Rp300 juta dan RplOO juta dari aliran dana BI. Menurut Amru, uang itu digunakannya untuk kampanye partai menjelang Pemilu 2004, dan tak pernah diinterpretasikan sebagai sosialisasi kasus BLBI.

Pada bagian lain kesaksiannya, Antony akhirnya mengaku menerima uang Rp500 juta dari BI. "Saya menerima Rp600 juta."  Sebelumnya Antony selalu menyangkal pernah menerima aliran dana BI. Selama menjalani pemeriksaan di KPK, Antony selalu membantah aliran dana tersebut. Menurut dia, hal itu dilakukan karena dia tidak ingin tersangkut dalam konspirasi politik ringkat tinggi. "Saya tidak ingin jadi korban konspirasi tingkat tinggi, hal ini menyangkut banyak orang," ujarnya.

Seperti diketahui, Antony menjadi salah tersangka dugaan korupsi aliran dana BI bersama Hamka Yandhu, rekannya di Komisi DC DPR periode 1999-2004, dan Oey Hoey Tiong (mantan Direktur Hukum BI), Rusli Simanjuntak (mantan Kepala Biro Gubernur BI) serta Burhanuddin Abdullah, (anugerah.perkasa@bisnis.co id)

Alors que s'est-il passé chez moi depuis ces dernières semaines?

Une semaine de taf, je suis animatrice en centre de loisirs, je m'occupe des enfants qui ont entre 3 ans et 6 ans. Tout ce passe bien, l'équipe s'entend bien, les enfants ne sont pas trop terribles! Manque seulement le beau temps... Les journées sont longues 8h-18h avec une demi-heure de pause si on a le temps, autant vous dire que lorsque je rentre je suis claquée, sans vous parlez de la fin de semaine!!

Week-end de 3 jours, samedi aprèm je me suis promenée avec des potes dans quelques magasins! Ensuite le soir direction Antony, nous avons la maison des grands-parents d'un pote, alors on sort dans un resto "Casa Sud", que j'ai trouvé vraiment super que se soit les plats, l'ambiance comme le service. Ensuite on rentre et s'ensuit des blablas de gonzesses pendant que les mecs regardent la télé!

Dimanche on se lève tranquillou, ensuite le soir je rentre chez moi où nous avons des invités.

Aujourd'hui réveil à 9h, assez dur quand même, bonne cause oblige, je vais chercher une petite rate qui se trouve à plus d'une heure de chez moi, une petite demoizelle que je vous présenterai dans un prochain post!

Week-end fini, nouvelle semaine qui arrive...

Na verdade eu nem preparei um post, só estou ouvindo o cd deles e como é tão bom resolvi colocar aqui.

Mas então, a banda é na verdade uma criação do Dj Andrew Butler - que escreve as músicas - e, posteriormente, da linda Kim Ann Foxman - que também é Dj e uma designer de jóias famosinha -, com a NOMi - que até agora eu não descobri se é mulher biológica ou uma transexual, enfim, ela é gostosa - e, finalmente, participação do Antony - o do & the Johnsons. O estilo pode ser definido como neo-disco, meio house, meio funk, o importante é que é bom pra ouvir e pra dançar.

Agora eu quero falar da Kim. Ela é muito linda. Os traços dela são bem femininos, bastante fofa, só que usa umas roupas meio butch e o cabelo dela é demais. Acho que é o meu novo tipo de mulher. Toma fotin:

E além de musicar as letras ela também canta em algumas faixas. Acho que na faixa "Athene" que sairá como single e na mais calminha "Iris" - uma das minhas preferidas.

How do I transfer to the new server?
Transfer will happen automatically once the new server is online. You earned it.

What happens to people not on the server?
Nothing at all. Your account will still have the same relative reliabiliy, and be subject to whatever company manages your node. With the server from Crissic, we will have more control over how it is set up and your accounts.

What will my domain of the new server be?
This server will use the domain ismywebsite.com. For those who use their node's domain when advertising their site, it is good to get back into the practice of using yoursite.ismywebsite.com. This domain will almost always work to access the site.

What happens to new accounts registered now?
New accounts will still be created on one of the nodes. Once they meet the above requirements, they will move onto the big server. Empty accounts will be removed after 30 days, and accounts with content after 150. (I should think 5 months is more than enough time to complete the above.) Once you are on the new server, there will be no account removal unless requested by the client.

Does the new server have cPanel, Ruby on Rails, PHP, MySQL, Fantastico, RV Site Builder, CGI, Perl, Cron Jobs, or any other feature?
It should have all of those except for RV Site Builder, which will be available once we are making a profit exceeding $30/mo again.

Should I still back up my site files on the new server?
We have a back up system in place, but the answer is still yes. Always have a backup, even if you're hosted with a reliable company like Crissic Solutions in a datacenter guaranteeing 99.999% uptime.

How many accounts will the server fit?
More than enough for everyone who wants to meet the above requirements.

*Ruby on Rails is not available on all nodes. If you require it, you can request to be transfered to another node.

People have been emailing me asking me about the Hercules and love affair video I posted last week. The readers were wondering about the certain over-sized hooded pieces the 'vougers' were wearing in the video. Many wanted to know who designed the pieces or who was the stylist for the video. I don't know who the stylist was but low and behold after a grueling web search I've been saved! Well..kind of.

Good ol' Skeleton legs showcased the Komakino Design Spring 08 collection ironically at the time of my search. I'm not 100% Sure if this is from the same collection or even from Komakino, but something tells me it might be. If not, It's close enough.

One of my favourite albums so far this year is the eponymous debut from Hercules And Love Affair. It's a wonderfully sprawling, decadent history lesson in dance music and, as certain critics have noted, charts the rise and fall of gay culture, which occasionally hints at the crises of AIDS and drugs. More prominently though, it's the fantastic music that makes it so great. In certain songs, the DJ supremo who's behind the band, Andrew Butler, weaves in more futuristic ideas, but, for the most part, it's big time nostalgia of all things Giorgio Moroder, Arthur Russell, and a smattering of Chicago House.

Underpinning quite a few of the tracks are the delightfully spine-chilling vocals of Antony Hegarty, of Antony and the Johnsons fame, and it his fractured, kaleidoscopic backing vocals that turn You Belong into one of the album's standout tracks. I believe it's going to be released as a single on the 7th of July, and I hope it gains a wider audience, partly because listeners will be afforded the opportunity to hear the throbbing lead vocals of Nomi, an enchanting vocalist sure to gain in reputation this year.

I have a feeling the B-side is going to an interesting remix of the track from Riton, which you can hear in the box.net widget on the right-hand side of this page.

On July 7 th, the disco monks, Hercules And Love Affair continue their space house/disco journey with there follow up single to their underground hit 'Blind"  with their new single "You belong". The video is a prime example of what is going on in the real world of underground fashion Scene and music with the revival of the late 80's early 90's house scene. This video is equipped with great vocals by Brooklyn singer Nomi Promis and Antony on chorus. The "flim noir" style video also has inspirational choreographed Voguing and great wardrobe including those hot Jeremy Scott Tool box shades.

The ploy was expertly executed, with ongoing relentless stories of the struggle to configure and set up the servers. I was even sent links to a WHM panel on 3 occasions, and initally shown a website which proved to be his (on a fast-loading server, I might add). A part of me was skeptical, another hoped for the best, and yet another was looking at all the evidence presented in his story. Still, I vowed not to let this slip until I knew it was true. As time went on however, and the server problems worsened, I had to give hope to my clients. I invited Antony to announce the server at one of our meetings.

Works at ESET... I wish!

One day he staged to be an older brother and informed me that his younger brother Antony was very good at coming up with creative stories such as this one. When I found a few holes in this new story, he came forth with what I believe may be the final truth. He had, in the beginning a dream to find these servers and offer them to us. He thought he could, but they were too expensive to afford in the end. He kept up the story hoping against hope he could finish it with a happy ending. But he couldn't.

Most recently, I have just been informed there were attacks taking place against his server and verbal attacks through MSN. I would just like to request that these stop, since I don't consider him an enemy nor advocate retaliation of this kind. Thanks everyone.

Inside, the dance floor was mobbed...T & T manned the decks and worked kids into a frenzy. To fight to get a decent spot to see the stage, I had to navigate through a crowd not unlike the hordes in Times Square...only here everyone was drunk and dancing. At this point I thought I may have been better off at home on the couch with a forty. Being a disco show, I knew weirdness would be on the menu and I got a helping when the DJs were replaced by a transvestite MC who introduced the band. After he/she had worn out his/her welcome, the lights dimmed to reveal two kids, one perched on each side of the stage, decked out in all white dancing to intro music. The kid on my side looked like a disco Robocop with a bleached blond high top fade. His dance appeared to be a spazzed-out combination of Tai Chi and the Egyptian.

At last, Hercules and Love Affair took the stage as an eight piece—a two-man horn section, two guys on keys/synth including frontman Andrew Butler, dude on bass, dude on drums and two female (?) singers. No appearance by Antony.

In my opinion, the first couple of songs they played lacked a little punch, but the band soon found its groove with tracks like "You Belong," "Athene" and "Blind." Overall, I thought their sound translated well to the live medium and I was particularly impressed given the fact this was their first live performance. It's definitely fun music and very hard not to move to. I would definitely go see Hercules and Love Affair again, and next time will bring a big group with me. Unfortunately, it might be a while as they'll be abroad through July. Check out their full touring schedule on their myspace.
