Yay! My (terribly expensive) Moldy Peaches shirt from ebay arrived in the mail today!

Cuando salió la película recibí una de las bandas sonoras más entrañables que he escuchado. Como no, la película no fue menos y es una gran recomendación para todos los extraterrestres que no la hayan visto todavía.

Temas acústicos y de cantautor se mezclan con artistas muy "sixties", la mezcla perfecta para escuchar con tranquilidad. Se han incluido temas de Kimya Dawson, Belle & Sebastian, Sonic Youth, Cat Power, The Velvet Underground y The Moldy Peaches, entre otros.

Me gustaría destacar especialmente la versión que se incluye del Anyone Else But You de The Moldy Peaches interpretada por Michael Cera (Paulie) y Ellen Page (Juno) en la ultima escena de la película. Del éxito que obtuvo Ellen Page parece haber decidido hacer como Scarlett Johansson y grabar un disco.

Se tutti i film fossero così sarebbe la svolta. Costi penso pressochè ridicoli nei confronti dei vari Titanic o Guerre Stellari. Ma con degli attori che pur essendo giovanissimi sono dei grandi. A mio parere Jennifer Gardner in questo film sfigura da morire quando magari nel Coyote Ugly era favolosa... Ma non è colpa sua. E' merito dei grandissimi Michael e Ellen.

3 Doors Down - It's Not My Time ... The band's self-titled new album comes out in May. This is the first single, and surprisingly, I like it.  It feels a lot like the old stuff they used to do back when they were a credible rock band pre-"Here Without You". It rocks hard enough for rock radio and friendly enough for mainstream.  The other song that got released last December, "Citizen Soldier" was good too, though darker in mood despite the tribute-y lyrics. So maybe the album's shaping up to be better than I'm expecting. I'll give them a chance once it comes out.

Josiah Leming - To Run ... American Idol 7 featured him A LOT during the auditions and hollywood week but to the surprise of countless fans, he wasn't put through to compete in the Top 24.  Its their loss though, this kid's potential is huge... the boy can write songs. This one in particular was his audition song for AI, and it didn't catch me initially though I noticed that it was lyrically striking. Then I heard him perform it on Ellen yesterday with the keyboard. I was shocked... it sounded way better than I expected. More Copeland and less Emo-sounding than I was anticipating. Needless to say, I'm now gonna watch out for what this guy's gonna pull out of his hat next. Hopefully he hooks up with the right people that'll help him launch a good career in the music business. If he gets big, it'll be a big F.U. to A.I. hehehe! Check out his myspace for more songs.

Joshua Radin feat. Ingrid Michaelson - Sky ... Hehe I just posted a song of Joshua's a few days ago and here he is again.  I'm a huge fan of his and I've been liking Ingrid, too.  But both artists on the same song?!?! This totally made my day! What an awesome awesome song!Also, it is quite surprising for me from Mr. Radin that this tune is graced by the presence of drums hehehe. It appears on the four-song EP by Joshua Radin called "Unclear Sky" which is now available on iTunes... a teaser before the whole album gets released sometime later this year. Joshua even said that the songs on the EP aren't the best ones and that he's saving those for the complete album. Well, my verdict is that the EP is very good so the album must really be amazing. Can't wait! Buy the EP on iTunes [here].

The Moldy Peaches - Anyone Else But You ... I heard this song for the first time almost a year ago and i thought it was cute and catchy... and what got to me the most was the lyrics containing "up up down down left right left right B A start"... an ode to the family computer of old hahaha. Anyway, I was really surprised to hear this on the movie Juno... it appeared twice in the movie, first as a background song in its original form, then at the end of the film being performed by the two lead actors.  Huge promo right there... by the way, the movie is awesome! If you haven't seen it then you have to watch it. Best film I've seen so far this year (next to Cloverfield - yes I loved that one a lot, too). Its very real yet funny, and Ellen Page is really charming. The soundtrack is also a must-listen.

É oficial. Estou viciada na trilha sonora de Juno. Já gostei só ouvindo no site oficial do filme, depois de assistir o filme ontem, adoro ainda mais. Muito violão, banjo e letras gostosas. O filme concorre a quatro Oscars esse ano: melhor atriz, melhor diretor (Jason Reitman), melhor roteiro original (Diablo Cody) e melhor filme, infelizmente não entrou na lista dos indicados para trilha sonora ou música.

A música mais fofa com certeza é a 'Anyone Else But You' , do The Moldy Peaches, cantado pelos protagonistas Juno (Ellen Page) e Bleeker (Michael Cera).

E hoje, num dia tão romântico, é o momento certo para estar a dois. Que, claro, pedem músicas que casem com a ocasião. Por isso, sugiro um CD com baladas, não necessariamente românticas. E, como programa, assistir ao filme "Juno". Aliás, muitas músicas contidas aqui são da trilha sonora dele.

Claro, nosso feriado é comemorado no dia 12 de junho. Todavia, se podemos exportar algo tão estranho quanto o Halloween, porque não lembrar uma data que fala de belos sentimentos? Até porque sugiro apenas uma lembrança, algo no estilo "Alta Fidelidade": gravar um disco para alguém, se dedicar a escolher que faixas gravar, a ordem delas etc. E isso requer dedicação, e não dinheiro.

I originall started compiling this back in December, as a remedy to all the technotechnotechnotechno I'd been listening to around the time I went to see The Chemical Brothers in Brixton, though today it's acting more as a general hangover remedy.
