Det känns lite som att spela en kassett i en bandspelare där batterierna håller på att ta slut. Ja, det är ju oxå ett klassiskt ämne som nästan förtjänar ett eget blogginlägg. Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me

Här är ett exempel på lyckad recycling. Det är ofta jag stöter på människor som blir förvånade när de inser hur mycket recycling det är i mordern dansmusik. Fenomenet fanns iofs redan när jag var ung, men idag är samling och ren recycling närmast legio när det gäller att smida ihop en dansgolvshit. Tyvärr så är det ofta med blandade resultat och ibland vill man nästan gråta när man hör rena skräckexempel på låtar där man slaktat ett original fullständigt. Nu är ni säkert nyfikna på hur originalet låter som man använt i You Don't Know Me. Ja, det är bara att lyssna på här helt enkelt.

Som ni hör så är det de gottigaste bitarna herr Van Helden har plockat och egentligen är ju hans låt bara en loop av själva sticket i Dance With You och det är nog därför jag tycker det är ett så bra exempel på lyckad recycling. Det är oftast det enkla som blir bra, man behöver inte hålla på och krångla utan less is more som man brukar säga.

Sitter annars och väntar på att sovrummet ska svalna. Munstycket som ska blåsa ut varmluften från luftkonditioneringen hade släppt från slangen nu på morgonen så den stod och blåste varmluft in i sovrummet förut när jag gick in för att ta min middagslur. Så jag får skjuta upp den tuppluren en liten stund i avvaktan på att det ska bli lite mer svalt och behagligt i sovrummet.

Är annars rätt nöjd med den luftkonditioneringen som jag köpte för 6-7 år sen, den har snurrat på varje sommar utan knot men jag börjar ana lite ålderstecken på den nu. T.ex så låter fläkten lite illa först när man slår på den efter att den var avstängd. Men har den snurrat en stund så går det missljudet bort. Annars så är väl enda nackdelen med den att kompressorn brummar rätt så rejält så det är inget man har på på nätterna. Så jag får kyla ner rummet ordentligt på kvällen och hålla dörren stängd så brukar det bli bra. Fast nästa luftkonditionering får nog bli en riktig apparat med separat aggregat som man hänger ute och som orkar med hela lägenheten. Kan nog få ok att sätta ett sånt aggregat in mot gården då det inte är nåt som stör folks utsikt där ändå. Får se hur vi gör den dagen när det blir dags.

Everyone knows this effing song, but it doesn't make it any less relevant to this post. Armand Van Helden rarely makes a good track of his own, it's usually his remixes (or remixes of his stuff) that are good. Whatevs, it's a great track for the beach.

Black Kids - I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You

I have never seen Black Kids so I can really only speculate on their ethnicity, or gender for that matter, but if they aren't of African descent, then the white people really are "stealing all [their] beats from the blacks." -- Mindless Self Indulgence "Kill the Rock" -- Sort of how Eminem claims to be doing what Elvis did back in the day; "Do black music so selfishly, and use it to get myself wealthy." But "Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You"? Great song.

Kylie Minogue - Cherry Bomb

Rarities and B-Sides can be a great source for great songs that just for whatever reason didn't make the cut. Kylie Minogue recently released "X" and this song is a B-Side from that. Have no idea where one can get this in album form, because a friend of mine found it. Thanks Homez!

Ben Lee - Cigarettes Will Kill You

This song title doesn't lie, which is why I quit, but aside from that this song is just bad ass goodness. I don't know how many people would consider Ben Lee "bad ass" but I certainly do. His Australian indie crooning has had my heart since I first heard this song on the best soundtrack known to mankind, "Playing By Heart", which starred Angelina Jolie, Ryan Phillipe, Gillian Anderson, Jon Stewart, Sean Connery, Gena Rowlands, Anthony Edwards, Madelaine Stowe... it goes on and on, and the movie is awesome. As for this particular song, it's nice to listen to while chilling out on your patio, or hanging out at the beach. I don't make this stuff up; try it!

            Era uma casa enorme, localizada em uma cidade pequena de um condado esquecido, lugar perfeito para um locked room mystery a ser desvendado por uma solteirona xereta ou um belga pernóstico.

            Mas não havia crime algum naquela mansão, construída em um estilo que lembrava o georgiano. Sua arquitetura era toda simetria, elegância e harmonia, qualidades também em comum das atuais ocupantes do imóvel. As duas jovens mulheres tinham a mesma altura, a mesma estrutura física, os mesmos cabelos lisos e negros, os mesmos olhos de um verde acinzentado e a mesma pele imaculadamente branca. Ainda assim, não eram gêmeas e nem possuíam qualquer algum grau de parentesco.

            Elas não tinham nome também, mas isso era o que menos interessava para Mr.Martinet, o rapaz de boina e botas de plástico que agora observava a casa. O importante mesmo era que ele fora o primeiro a chegar.

            Naquele ano, ele descobrira o endereço antes de todo mundo.

            Pois as duas mulheres sempre escolhiam uma nova casa a cada visita anual que faziam na cidade. E quem chegava primeiro tinha o privilégio - pequeno, na realidade, mas ainda assim era um privilégio - de escolher a posição.

            E todos sabiam como a posição era importante.

            Existiam várias delas: “atravessado sobre os joelhos” ou “apoiando mãos e joelhos no piso” eram as mais populares. Mas havia também “deitada com o rosto na cama”, “curvada sobre um banco”, “de pé e com o rosto virado para a parede”, entre outras só limitadas pela imaginação e, é claro, pela flexibilidade do corpo.

            O rapaz - dono de uma das maiores coleções de hentais do país -  escolheu “atravessado sobre os joelhos”; para alguém do seu tamanho, era uma posição em nada confortável.

            Dentro daquela casa não havia espaço para palmatórias, chicotes ou varas de marmelo; apenas a boa e confiável palma da mão, coberta por uma delicada luva, era usada. O segredo não era a força aplicada. Ritmo e a constância eram o que realmente importava.            

            Pelos próximos cinco dias, toda a população adulta da cidadezinha passou pela biblioteca da mansão.

            Mr. Janus, prefeito e corrupto;

            Miss Kane, aposentada e jogadora compulsiva;

            Mrs. Februs, dona de casa e de três amantes;

            Mr. Roue, açougeiro e agiota;

            Miss Blush, manicure e vinte quilos acima do peso;

            Mrs. Sapphire, veterinária e mimada;

            Mr. Hobbs, vigário.

            Todos meninos e meninas muito, muito maus.

            O som das palmadas e dos gemidos de dor e prazer só parava de ecoar pela mansão no final da tarde: era a hora do chá das cinco. Na manhã seguinte, os trabalhos reiniciavam.

            Na Sexta-feira, as duas jovens mulheres partiram da mansão; só no próximo ano voltariam a visitar a cidadezinha. Deixavam para trás moradores com saudades e nádegas coradas.

Hey mates! Today I will present a guy that impressed me pretty much. I don't know if you've heard of him before but his name is "GRUM". This man from Edinburgh/Huddersfield, United Kingdom, is a great producer. With his funky disco house sound with influences from the frenchy funk style he blows my mind!

The track "Go Back" is a trashy electro banger with a lovely little melody somewhere in the noise of massive electronica. Also, his remix of Armand Van Heldens "U Don't Know Me" is a great piece of work! At first when I saw what track he remixed I was a little pessimistic but after listening to it for about one minute I was completely hooked!

For those of you who are not in the know -which is hope is a small fraction- DFA79 was the group that JFK of the 'KRFT & Sebastian Grainger came together to form. Elephant noses and all, they turned heads the world over before the electro-punk duo kicked the bucket and each went on to continue to alter the face of music seperately.

Johnatron, from over at DiscoWorkout, dropped (always droppin' the hot shit) a Squarepusher remix the other day with his "My Red Hot Car" edit. It's nice to see people referring back to the classics, I don't know where my head would be without Squarepusher banging in my headphones my entire highschool career. Some of the most influential music that I listened to when I was younger came from his direction.

Another track that I've been chilling on, zoning out to in a nostalgic daze, is Solid Gold's "Who You Gonna Run To?", off of their self titled EP. I'm really vibing to it, and though it is such a nice piece with it's casual tone, I do like what Woltie did with it. Love the brass. I know that I've said it before, but I always feel that the best electronic music is sad.

John from Neon Coyote turned me on to this Yeasayer remix by local Chicago artists Hey Champ DJ's. Its hard to even explain how much I like this song. I've been told numerous times to peep the Yeasayer album, this is now repositioning it on my priorities, for sure. Spending a majority of their time as Hey Champ, every now and then Jonathan Marks, Saam Hagshenas, Pete Dougherty find time to whip up some killer electronic jems, as Hey Champ DJ's, that I hope to feature more of in the near future. Hey Champ recently released a live EP that you can cop on iTunes as well, so go do that.

Connected my Decks up to computer and created a quite sketchy but i think quite good remix of Armand Van Helden "You Don't Know Me" with "Worry About It Later [Switch Remix]" by the Futureheads.

Ive been using Ableton Live 6.0.9 and Acid Pro 6. I edited the switch song using acid pro and ableton and then replayed it on my decks and used efx box etc and stuff over it.
