There was always something very "high school" about this show, and the beginning scenes in this episode help me solidify my longstanding inclination:

"Thanks for helping me with my homework, Loey."

Instigator Lo asks about Stephanie, and Lauren instead tells her about her apprehensive plans to meet Holly for drinks. Lauren's worried Holly wants to play matchmaker to her and Heidi, but at the same time, Lauren "doesn't want to turn down a friend." Because let's face it: At this rate, Audrina's old guest house will be a kitty den.

Audrina tells colleague Chiara that she's got a date with this guy named Colin, and just a teeny part of her wants Justin Bobby to feel jealous.

Heidi and Holly are having lunch. This thing is sad because Heidi seems so genuinely remorseful about the whole thing, whereas LC has been steadfastly fixated on revenge and punishing people.

So Audrina's date doesn't look as wormy as he did in the previews last week and as expected. He kind of looks like Doug but with longer hair. But I still prefer Justin. Then she starts comparing Colin to Justin in the date. Colin compliments her eyes. 

Lauren, Lo, and Holly and meet for drinks. Lo can't think of anything else to say to Holly besides the fact that she reminds her so much of Heidi. Geez! Well, what do you expect from two people both from Crested Butte, Colorado, Lo? Lo is so devious. Clearly, she wants to be LC's only friend. Just hold tight, Lo. At LC's rate of banishing people from her life, it's bound to happen sooner than later.

At People's Revolution, LC brings her baggage into work, as usual. She makes Whitney read a letter Heidi wrote to her. But Lauren doesn't want Heidi's apology. No, no, no. It seems she only wants Heidi to be able to blame Spencer. I have a suggestion: Why doesn't Lauren just prepare a list of demands to hand off to the media? Poor Heidi. I mean, it's totally unfair how LC gets to befriend Holly yet Audrina catches major ish for chilling with Speidi. And I bet that if LC's sister Breanna ever comes to town, she'll be banned by LC from Speidi as well.

On Audrina's second date with Colin, he calls out her constant gabbing about Justin. Audrina indirectly tells him that it's all about Justin Bobby in her mind right now. I wish people were more direct.

LC: "I can't cook. I need a man who can cook!"

But Holly asks about Lauren's letter to Holly. LC admits that it's not about Heidi, it's about Spencer. Well, I just wish she would have articulated that sooner! Who does LC think she is to be issuing all of these ultimatums?

I thought Heidi was an AMAZING friend to LC. Like, when I saw the first episode of the show, I was blown away by how supportive Heidi was to LC as she scrambled out to her Teen Vogue internship. Being in LC's inner circle requires a lot of hard work and sacrifice!

Then LC ponders out loud to AUDRINA of all people how different things would be if Spencer had never came into Heidi's life. Well, that wasn't very nice because we all know that Audrina would still be a receptionist, auditioning for parts as a movie extra.

Audrina tells Justin Bobby about her date with Colin, and he's clearly distraught! Maybe we've finally made a breakthrough?

Holly discusses the letter with Heidi. Then Spencer conveniently walks in and asks why they're keeping secrets. Holly and Spencer go back and forth, while Heidi looks sad. I really like Heidi and I will never understand the abuse she puts herself through.

That Jedi mind hypnotist that we call "Lauren" will be in Europe this episode, so let's see if her lap dogs bode well when they're left to their own devices...

LC's heading off to Italy for a much-needed vacay, and we get no explanation as to why. I guess it's much easier for her to take trips now that she doesn't have a boyfriend to worry about being left on the beach. Frankly, and quite honestly, considering how much they each get paid per episode (and considering LC's vanity), I'm surprised that she would let an episode happen without her being in every other scene!

"They always tell you not to bring heels to Italy."

Whoever said that was afraid of a little cobblestone! Do not show up to Italy senza ("without") heels because you'll feel utterly ridiculous when you're the only one in flats. Take a page from il mio libro ("my book")--I mean, if you're touring, you should feel comfortable. But if you'll be having a nice dinner, then you should dress however you would if you were in NYC.

"It'll just be me and Audrina without you."

Lo kind of fooled me into believing she was genuinely excited for a split second. Just a split second! But Lo and I have a past, and so I truly know how authentic she really is--SHE'S NOT.

Then Stephanie shows up at the gate of The Hills plantation, like a lost little puppy abandoned by her Spencer owner, and talks to Audrina over the intercom thing. Before Steph gets a second word out, Audrina straight up tells her that Lauren's not home (i.e. she should leave now). But Steph's got news for us all: She's not here to see Lauren. She's here to see Audrina!

And it is this meeting that gives us an indication that maybe, just maybe, Brody's been right about this Stephanie character all along. Maybe he wasn't too harsh for making her cry at Frankie's birthday? I mean, were we honestly expecting for a Mother Theresa to be reared in the same house as Spencer?

Stephanie confides in Audrina about Doug asking her out on a date. Really? Really? Really? Very shady of Doug, and very shady on Steph's part to even consider it, especially now, only two episodes after LC broke things off with him!

Audrina gives Steph rational, level-headed advice: Wait until Lauren gets back from Italy and then run the idea by her. Which is reasonable, but we all have to remember who we're talking about here: LAUREN. But I guess that I know Lauren better than Stephanie and Audrina do.

Retrospective advice to Stephanie: You need to know that Lauren has a heightened sense of distrust (even though she claims most of her friendship problems are derived from her nature of being TOO trusting). So Steph, going out with Doug doesn't exactly help your case that you're trustworthy.

But Stephanie can't wait until Lauren gets back from Italia to get into her leftovers--she needs to go on a date with Doug NOW, before he disintegrates into thin air! Then Stephanie's like, "How would Lauren find out?" LC may not be checking her e-mails while in Italy, but rest assured, the producers will definitely make sure she finds out about this dramz!

Then there's this scene with Heidi and her coworker Kimberly discussing how she needs to go out to a skate ramp with Spencer. Did they include this scene for continuity?

Now we see Audrina and Lo at lunch, and they have like, lunch trays, like at the high school cafeteria. I have lunch at places with trays, but I'm just so used to seeing them at cute little petit French bistros and such--not Au Bon Pain!!! No longer do they live an aspirational lifestyle!!! To fill in the awkward silences, Lo says, "La la la," falling a step backward on my authenticity meter. Then Audrina resorts to the only common ground between women all around the world, the language we all speak: DRAMA. She reveals to Lo that Stephanie's planning on going on a date with Doug.

The incredible trying between Audrina and Lo is just...I have no words. Except that things are so forced between them. Now at Goa (one of the two clubs they frequent), in walks Heidi and Spencer, as we've seen in every episode before for four seasons now. Seriously, this happens every week: "Uh oh! Spencer and Heidi are here!" When will we all start an uprising against the producers for building us up for the same climatic moment every week for like, two years now?

Heidi just HAS to say hi to Audrina, and approaches her at the table with Lo. They're all hugging and catching up, and Audrina even tells Heidi about the whole Doug thing! In my humble opinion, she shouldn't have told Heidi about that. Now Heidi knows that LC's being screwed over by Stephanie before LC even knows! Terrible news travels swiftly! Then Heidi invites Audrina (well, actually, she says, "You guys should come" but I doubt Lo would feel welcome and/or jeopardize her spot on the show by betraying LC) to an event for Bolthouse. Audrina says it "sounds fun." Lo sips her drink in awkwardness.

Stephanie comes over to Speidi's apartment to tell Spencer about her intentions to go to dinner with Doug, in a way that's just begging for his approval.  When will she ever learn that none of us will ever be good enough for Spencer's unreachably high standards of quality and taste? He says she should be nervous that LC will "clip" her from the posse. And I'm not afraid to say that I wholeheartedly agree with Spencer on this one.

Now we're at the party and Heidi says she gets her Stephanie scoop from Heidi, and I'm convinced that Spencer has some social disorder when he starts the most lousy, corny small talk discussion with Justin Bobby I've ever heard: "So did you see the new Batman movie? They should have called it 'Joker.'" Then Audrina talks about how she doesn't like drama and negativity, and that she surrounds herself with positive people. Then she says that she and Heidi should go to lunch. Heidi says, "Anytime, I'm here for you, Audrina." I am all for the rekindling of that friendship as well.

At Stephanie and Doug's dinner date, their first order of business for the evening is a concerned discussion of how they've betrayed LC and Brody, respectively. Then, Brody's mom comes in and "catches" them on their date. I've never been to Los Angeles, but if it's anything like New York, then there's no way you can see someone you know at every corner you turn. But maybe it's not a big city thing, maybe that's just a reality show thing...

Back at work, Audrina tells Chiara everything, a useless scene that makes us, the freakin' viewers, end up having heard the same two stories about the Audrina/Justin Bobby/Speidi meeting and the Steph/Doug date a total of like, FOUR times. Then Lauren comes back from her unexplained trip, and Audrina and Lo take turns recapping the madness that occurred while she was busy throwing pennies in the Trevi fountain.

"How was Italy?"

"You know how you walk by a construction site and the guys whistle? Well, Italy's like a construction site." 

Forget novels--LC should write a cool girls' travel guide!

And they tell LC everything! The Audrina/Justin Bobby/Speidi thing, the Stephanie/Doug date--EVERYTHING! And her expressive face is less than excited about it all.

Then LC goes out to a platonic dinner with her suspiciously overly-fervent yes obvious ally in all of this, Brody Jenner. Brody says his MOM told him about the dinner date Stephanie had with Doug. I'm so glad that Kim Kardashian doesn't get involved in all of this. You know, Brody does the same thing on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." 

"I just don't want to see you get hurt." 

I'm sure what's at stake for Brody.

She must be devastated because she hardly has any makeup on! She's usually got on enough eyeliner and mascara for a year's worth of Maybelline Great Last commercial shoots! And she seriously like, barely looked up from her plate. This girl is sad! But I'll tell you a little secret--even though LC and I are the same age, at one point, I wanted to wear eye makeup just like her's. But that was during the Laguna days, when I was a bit more impressionable, like the girls who watch the show now. 

Next time on The Hills, Spencer goes out with Heidi's mom (yes, Heidi's mom), Doug defends his new beau to LC, and Steph runs to LC in tears about her relationship woes with Doug, which LC will probably for...

Rispetto alla tradizionale tecnica fotografica oggi il digitale ci permette di scattare centinaia di fotografie senza la paura di sprecarne nessuna e, inoltre, ha risolto il problema della grande quantità di spazio di cui tutti necessitavano per conservare i ricordi di tutta una vita.

Io sono una fan della digitale; faccio un sacco di foto; adoro scattare foto!

Penso che ben presto mi iscriverò ad un corso per imparare le migliori tecniche e così iniziare a coltivare questa passione. Intanto mi sono preoccupata di trovare una soluzione al troppo tempo perso ogni volta che ho bisogno di recuperare una foto nel mio computer: ho installato PICASA, il software marchiato Google.

Questo software mi aiuta con l'archiviazione e la ricerca delle mie foto, così risparmio tempo ed evito di passare delle ore a ispezionare cartelle e sub-cartelle. Funziona un po' come il motore di ricerca Google ma lavora all'interno del proprio computer.

Mi piace, ha una bella interfaccia grafica, chiara e intuitiva; mi permette di dare sfogo alla mia fantasia grazie alla possibilità di intervenire sulla qualità della foto con ritocchi, effetti grafici, creazione di poster e collages di immagini.

Prima cosa elimino sempre gli occhi rossi e poi se una foto non mi "soddisfa" inizio a sperimentare le varie funzioni, modalità seppia, colori caldi o cambio di luminosità, fino a esplorare le funzioni più sofisticate come il cambio dell'angolo di ripresa della fotografia, con un risultato: "foto particolare e degna di essere conservata tra i ricordi".

Per i più professionali c'è anche la funzione di intervenire sulla visualizzazione dei dati EXIF di Picasa; questa finestra mostra tutti i dati della fotocamera memorizzati nel file originale dell'immagine: modello di macchina fotografica, data di ripresa e persino l'indicazione dell'utilizzo o meno del flash. Nella vista EXIF appare un grafico in tempo reale che mostra l'intensità dei colori nell'immagine e come questi cambiano quando apporti delle modifiche.

Appena installi Picasa, il software automaticamente scansiona il tuo disco rigido e individua tutte le immagini che hai organizzandole in album sistemati per data e nome. Una volta installato vi consiglio di inserire delle parole chiave all'immagine così riuscirete immediatamente a ritrovarle.

Un'altra utilità è la possibilità di condividere le immagini in internet, puoi inviarle per e-mail, stamparle, creare CD e persino postarle nel tuo blog. Quando invii una foto tramite Picasa tutti i tuoi amici potranno riceverle senza problemi perché Picasa automaticamente ridimensiona e allega le immagini ai messaggi di posta elettronica, eliminando così i problemi legati alla pesantezza degli allegati.

 Il primo commento a caldo che si può fare (e forse l'unico che avrà un senso nel tempo a venire) è:

"cazzo, sto cosino è una figata".

• funzione Genius, non so come faccia ma  permette di creare in modo automatico una playlist di canzoni affini tra loro, evitando sbalzi di stili o bpm poco gradevoli;
• schermo con accelerometro, come l'iphone ti segue negli spostamenti
• shuffle a scuotimento, scuotetelo leggermente e il sistema cambia canzone...

L’Orchestra di piazza Vittorio è un’orchestra composta da una ventina di musicisti che provengono da comunità e culture diverse, ognuno con i suoi strumenti e il suo bagaglio di musica popolare ma legati da uno stesso scopo: fondere culture, tradizioni, memorie e nuove sonorità per lanciare un urlo al mondo.
Questa orchestra rappresenta un'esperienza forse unica in Europa di cui noi italiani dobbiamo essere fieri. Oltre ad essere nata con l'auto-tassazione di alcuni cittadini, è la prima ed unica orchestra che ha creato posti di lavoro e garantito permessi di soggiorno per eccellenti musicisti provenienti dalle più differenti parti del mondo.
Anche se oggi questo gruppo gode di grande stima e fama, crearlo non è stato facile. Avevano bisogno di spazi adatti per provare, mancavano i sostegni economici e dovevano soprattutto cercare di coinciliare e formare un gruppo di persone culturalmente molto diverse.
La bellissima storia di questa Orchestra è anche protagonista di un film-documentario "L'Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio", diretto da Agostino Ferrente e distribuito da Lucky Red.
