Check out this Lobster Weathervane. The guy a couple doors down from Dominos Pizza now sells a wide variety of weathervanes. The same guy that sharpens knives and fixes lawn mowers.

Obviously this one appealed to me. I don't have a cupola to attatch it to but I'm seriously considering putting one up.

This spot is absolute perfection. It is the first thing my eye goes to when I look out my kitchen window. And frankly, it makes me giddy! This piece of a grand old barn has come to rest in the southeast corner of my garden. First, I had it close to the patio and the scale was all wrong. Then, I moved it to the east fenceline. In that spot is was naked, exposed, no lush greenery to frame it's perfect rusty goodness. It takes a while to find the perfect spot to "be." I feel like I have found my perfect spot this spring too. I quit being an elementary teacher to raise my kids, but not long into diapers I realized I had a need to do something of my own. I taught natural childbirth classes for a while, operated a small CSA, then I opened an antique store. Those things were good and all, but they were stepping stones.  A part of the journey, but Urban Farm School is my sweet spot. I, at 35 years of age, have found "it." For those of you who really know me it is no easy task to pin me down.  A long time ago someone told me that: Every person you meet, every experience you have is the perfect preparation for the purpose God has in store for you. So here I am doing what I know I should be doing at this moment. Here I am in this perfect spot. I like the barn cupola have some history, a little bit of rust, some dings and a lot of possibilities...

Il palazzo del Reichstag di Berlino è costruito tra il 1884 e il 1894 in stile rinascimentale secondo il progetto di Paul Wallot e inaugurato dall'imperatore Gugliemo II nel 1894. Distrutto da un incendio nel 1933, anno dell'ascesa al potere di Hitler, nel maggio del 1945 la foto di una bandiera sovietica sulle rovine del Reichstag dopo una sanguinosa battaglia fa il giro del mondo.

 

 Un tronco di cono con diametro di base 2,5 m e 16 m di diametro superiore, perfora la sala planetaria in una light sculptor di 300 tonnellate, 360 specchi di vetro altamente riflettente ed una serie di cellule fotovoltaiche che regolano la penetrazione della luce e del calore nelle ore diurne e con un inverso sistema nelle ore notturne, trasformando la cupola in un grande lampione nello skyline di Berlino.

La trasparenza è il principio guida dell'intervento di ricostruzione evidenziata dal grande uso di pareti di vetro e di strutture leggere, in un'ottica di permeabilità e dimensione pubblica come simbolo e riconoscenza della nuova Berlino.

I visitatori sulle rampe non possono effettivamente vedere la Camera sottostante il cono di specchi, ma i Deputati vedono realmente i visitatori, come monito di continua responsabilità civile e promemoria per il lavoro di rappresentanza che si sta svolgendo.

Come dire che alla base della democrazia passeggia il popolo che guarda curioso sulla città, in una prospettiva di totale trasparenza e libertà di movimento su un elicoide che sale oltre le teste dei deputati a tutto tondo.

Un dialogo emozionante e vibrante che aleggia tra la massa spessa delle mura storiche e il simbolo della nuova Berlino, tra passato e futuro, come un faro nella notte, a ricordare che comunque sia, dopo qualsiasi orrenda tempesta, torna sempre il sereno.

Sono le parole usate dal Papa Benedetto XVI nel rivolgersi all'Inter.

La visita è avvenuta questa mattina presso piazza San Pietro. Ad essere presenti vi erano il presidente Massimo Moratti con la moglie Milly, la sorella Bedy, il vicepresidente Rinaldo Ghelfi, l'amministratore delegato e direttore generale Ernesto Paolillo, il vice direttore generale Stefano Filucchi, l'esperto direttore tecnico Marco Branca, il consulente di mercato Gabriele Oriali ed altri dirigenti.

Della squadra si citano il nostro grande mister Roberto Mancini ed il resto della squadra.

Al pontefice è stata consegnata una maglia del centenario - quella con lo scudo crociato, simbolo di Milano, con il nome in oro Benedetto XVI ed un almanacco del centenario rivestito di bianco.

Altri omaggi il Papa li ha ricevuti dal presidente (tessera d'oro con dedica personale) e dal capitano Javier Zanetti (maglia nerazzurra personalizzata).

Il mister ha così commentato:

"Essere qui oggi in piazza San Pietro per l'udienza di Papa Benedetto XVI e' un'esperienza significativa, tra le piu' toccanti che ci possano essere. Per me e' la prima volta con questo papa, sara' emozionante sicuramente come le due precedenti in cui sono stato ricevuto da Papa Giovanni Paolo II."

Commosso ed entusiasta il presidente Moratti, il quale ha commentato con:

"È un giorno speciale per l'Inter. Essere qui è motivo di grande onore, un grande orgoglio, una grande emozione."

Aggiungendo:

"Al momento dei saluti, Benedetto XVI ha salutato la squadra facendo capire di seguire attentamente le vicende dello sport e del calcio, anche della nostra situazioni in campionato. È stato molto gentile e simpatico."

Le parole del pontefice riguardanti i "valori morali dello sport" vedono nell'Inter la massima espressione per quanto riguarda il calcio italiano, che cerca faticosamente di scrollarsi di dosso le macchie del passato, di Moggiopoli, della partite combinate da Moggi, degli arbitri rinchiusi negli spogliatoio e costretti a piegarsi ai voleri di una "cupola", di un'associazione a delinquere.

I 10 anni di furti e partite truccate non verranno cancellate, ma l'Inter, così come anche la Roma, è lì, a mandare un segnale forte:
