Broccoli Pizza

I am bloated on pizza. When I come to the home town, I like to get a broccoli pizza, unfortunately I like to eat it too. I have eaten way too much.

The thing is I was thinking I had lose some weight this week, but in one day I think I went the other direction. The thing is I like to eat, even when I am full.

Took a nice little nap.

The Tigers came back to life and won in the later innings. It wasn't a great game and it looked like a loss from early on.

Last night I walked right into a door. It is part a testiment of my ability to stay half asleep. As I was walking out of the bathroom I was thinking -- 'where is that door...' BANG. I don't do this a lot, but on occasion I walk into a door. Mostly at night when I am half asleep.

For some reason it reminds me of a conversation I had with my dad. I think I was 10 or 11 about John Kennedy. He told me that Kennedy once had a black eye and told everyone it was from walking into a door. My dad's tone made it sound like that wasn't what really happened and I asked him such. My dad shrugged and said he didn't know. I am not sure if he made the comment and did have a thought why JFK had the black eye, but didn't want to tell me. Or he thought it was a funny thing that JFK had the black eye, but didn't have a reason why.

I don't know why I remember that conversation, maybe it has to do with I was thinking about how you interpret what people say and their body language. I think my thought was and is that you can't always figure out what people are saying from the actual words they are saying AND once you ask them directly you don't know either.

After whacking my eye, I thought --- I want to sleep, but I should put some ice on that so it doesn't swell up too much (or worse becomes a black eye). I got an ice pack from the freezer and laid it on my eye. It was probably only on the contusion for three minutes because I dozed off right away.

II think there will be a new term created because of Sarah Palin. I really think so many people are a) searching for what every they can find (there isn't much and most of that is repeats) and b) people throwing up as much as they can --- either so people will hit on their websites/blogs....or they see a niche that can be filled.

In addition to this, there must be lots of people that have Sarah Palin related stuff that seems kind of unrelated to anything, but now is a big deal. For example there are pictures of kids on my school's website that have little interest, but to kids in my school. Should one of the kids parents get selected for Vice President (and why not, my school town is filled with rednecks) those pictures would generate a ton of interest.

Come to think of it, who will be republican vice presidents of the future. Now that McCain has set the standard of trailer trash, where would they go next. It will be hard to find someone who is married to a snowmobile champion (most of the kids in my school would vote for her for that fact alone.)

No naked feet

Kind of hot and humid in the Adirondacks. Even with a/c in the library, it is warm in the school, but compared to the rest of the building very cool. I would guess there are a couple elementary rooms that are the 90s. It's suppose to cool of this weekend, so I can maybe use a blanket soon.

It is suppose to rain, I am wondering if I should bring my bike in, or leave it in the truck and travel with it. I should go for a bike ride this weekend. I want to get back to the home town and maybe get my prescriptions filled, which mans leaving by 10 a.m. If I leave t hat early I will want to have my computer.

I am back to the home town sometime this weekend for a read-through on Sunday. That is going to be a little exciting for me. I haven't thought about it, but it has been a year since I've written a murder mystery...(I say 'written' but I still need to finish it --- that will be easier once I see the actors go through the play).

Reminds me of a woman from grad school that said she had to have socks on when she slept. She said she couldn't stay at someone's house if she didn't have socks. I am not sure if she needed special socks, but it didn't sound like she could borrow a pair of sox.

Mofo had a few nights to have socks with her. I forget what it is like to be in my 20's with lots of opportunities for casual activity. (This never happened to me when I was 17 though, I guess it is my parent's fault since they weren't conservative republicans.)

I wouldn't worry about having socks or not either. In fact I like sleeping without socks

The Tigers are playing typical bad right now.

I decided to tune into the Cleveland Indians since the Tigers are getting beat up by the twins. Partial for a change and the fact that Cleveland is winning (they are now in third place ahead of the Tigers), but also to listen to Tom Hamilton broadcast a winner. Now on to Vin Scully.

One of the reasons why I like listening to Scully and the Dodgers they are in a good pennant race. Another is how over-rated Many Rameriz is playing. He is doing okay in some aspects of the game, but so bad in others. If you just looked at his stats in black and white, he seems he is doing great. Like a .400 plus average, but he is doing really poorly in the outfield and even with the high average, he strikes out a lot in big situations.

Plus he is doing the really stupid things. Like tonight he got to first on an error, but got too far off base and was thrown out.

I think my separated shoulder is never going to be good or okay. I am wondering if it might be affecting my arm in other ways. There seems to be various (mild) muscle strains from time to time.

from http://www.factcheck.org/

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/factchecking_mccain.html

We checked the accuracy of McCain’s speech accepting the Republican nomination and noted the following:

McCain claimed that Obama’s health care plan would "force small businesses to cut jobs" and would put "a bureaucrat ... between you and your doctor." In fact, the plan exempts small businesses, and those who have insurance now could keep the coverage they have.

McCain attacked Obama for voting for "corporate welfare" for oil companies. In fact, the bill Obama voted for raised taxes on oil companies by $300 million over 11 years while providing $5.8 billion in subsidies for renewable energy, energy efficiency and alternative fuels.

McCain said oil imports send "$700 billion a year to countries that don't like us very much." But the U.S. is on track to import a total of only $536 billion worth of oil at current prices, and close to a third of that comes from Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

He promised to increase use of "wind, tide [and] solar" energy, though his actual energy plan contains no new money for renewable energy. He has said elsewhere that renewable sources won’t produce as much as people think.

He called for "reducing government spending and getting rid of failed programs," but as in the past failed to cite a single program that he would eliminate or reduce.

He said Obama would "close" markets to trade. In fact, Obama, though he once said he wanted to "renegotiate" the North American Free Trade Agreement, now says he simply wants to try to strengthen environmental and labor provisions in it.

How can McCain be against pork Barrel, when he selected the governor of the #1 pork state.

time to read and sleep

As I returned home from work today, a million things were on my mind. Hurricane Ivan and it's rapid approach towards my home, cutting the grass, bills, dinner, watching the movie 21, etc, etc, etc...

During the regular routine of emptying my pockets, listening to the answering machine, and getting a drink I saw something on the kitchen counter that looked odd but very familiar to me. How could someone send me a letter with my own return address label on it??? Wait a minute, I got an autograph that fast??? YIPPEE!!!

So, as I grabbed the digital camera to record history I saw that the envelope was stamped in Chicago. That means that this was going to be an autographed card from either Alan Trammell or Harold Baines. I started to sweat with anticipation. I felt like a kid opening a birthday card hoping that some cash was inside.

RRRRIIIIIPPPPP, I tore off one end of the envelope and out it flew! My Alan Trammell cad was back home. After just 7 days!!!!

Wait a minute. It's not signed. Maybe Trammell used invisible ink...

Oh well. You cannot win them all. It's good to see that Trammell or whoever handles his mail sends stuff back in a very timely manner.

Luckily I still have 9 more cards out there. So my chances of getting an autograph returned to me still exists. Right now I am batting .000 but hopefully a hit will be coming my way soon.

Stay Positive!!!

Are you a Sarah Palin Christian

After all those years and times that the republican controlled media has attacked Hillary Clinton, it is no surprised that no one is giving Sarah Palin the benefit of the doubt. Forget Hillary, the mono-thinking republicans have given up objectivity, instead.

How many years has the republican lead media been attacking the Clinton family, which is fine IF YOU THINK HE WAS CORRUPT -- then be against corruption.

Tom Delay is back

Cheney is not

Bush is in NO,LA , three years ago he was AWOL

Palin doesn't want to talk to the media

who does the republicans have to put on the stage that hasn't cheated on his wife

I can see why women would flock to this kind of misogyny

Unfortunately with the mono-think republicans, they just don't want to accept facts. What is great is not what is bad about the republicans candidates right now is not how bad and corrupt they are, but how they things they do, the republican koolaid drinkers are tolerated.

If you had a problem with Clinton sleeping with a woman outside his marriage fine. In fact I am glad you are so highly moral and would never do that yourself, but then why don't you have a problem with all the republican candidates who do that (including McLame and the daughter of Palin). If you are going to ignore the fact we had a strong economy with Clinton, but don't like that he had sex, fine, because we know republicans don't have sex. But when your party

If you are going to criticizes Bill Clinton for not going into wars that have nothing to do with terrorism, that is fine. If you are going to criticize him for being married to Hillary, fine. But then take a look at your, corrupt candidates and their spouses.

What most of these mono-thinkers don't understand is they are not accepted by the very people they worship. Go listen to Sarah Palin talk to her church. She is not saying how much she loves all christians, she loves her born-agains... I hate to inform the mono-thinkers: if you are catholic, you are not christian; if you are baptist, you are not christian; if you are methodist, you aren't a christian, etc. If you want I will hold you hand in the get a clue line, but as much as I hold your hand, you are not a Sarah Palin christian --- you are going to hell. The same place Bush has taken this country and you are happy about it.

If the fact that she doesn't have the same values that you have --- only the ones you wish you had. And to be honest, you really don't want to be a trailer bimbo, because like a trailer bimbo, she talks a talk, but then wears pole-dance platforms in the attempt to walk the walk.

I am trying to tune into the gop convention and in all their money (which doesn't really make up for intelligence --- regardless you tell yourself, unless you are the republican child that has been left behind) they can't figure out how to stream the convention.

Sweet, they keep showing the 17-year-old preggers girl. Nice. Stand proud. Now Rudy Giuliani (epitome of both family values and country first) is on to set up Sarah Palin. I guess next to Rudy -- everyone in the Palin family is a virgin. I wonder why they boo-ed him though. I think if any of these republicans have some free time in the next four years, they ought to take some public speaking courses in a community college.

I know if you were at the Tom Delay get drunk party to show your support for the New Orleans hurricane victims you might not need some snappy rhetoric or to make sense, but would it be too much to ask rudy to be coherent.

The most amazing thing about this convention: they have been in power for the last eight years and they want to blame someone else for everything that is wrong in the United States -- and the world. It must be the republican philosophy -- stand up a really crappy republican candidate next to the candidate and they look good. Next to Bush, McCain looks good and next Rudy, Palin looks ethical.

Rudy: "she stands up for what is right. " camera zooms into pregnant 17-year-old. Makes me want to vote no family values.

I was surprised today. One of the teacher who was at the seminar yesterday came up to me and apologize for 'star.' She made me feel good because she said: "You were asking questions and that is why we had that woman there to speak."

So I was right and star once again wants to talk to the guidance counselor.

Finally heard from the director, she thinks my play is good.

Time to listen to a speech, can't wait to see the halter top she wears.

The Tigers are in a rain delay.
