In ultimo va ribadito che l’intero Consiglio Comunale – che ha sia il diritto ad essere costantemente informato che il dovere di discutere e deliberare – può pronunciarsi senza generare polemiche e contrapposizioni tra i cittadini solo dopo che il sindaco e la giunta verificano, nel corso di un’assemblea pubblica, l’orientamento dell’intera comunità favorevole o meno a questa grande opera. Quest’ultimo passaggio è molto importante perché la querell di Piano dei Limiti nelle “contrade” di Colletorto è da tempo che suscita opinioni contrastanti e discussioni animate perché incrocia e urta la sfera materiale e ideale di tutti i cittadini di Colletorto. Si auspica, dunque che ogni “cittadinoprotagonista” esprima il suo parere solo se può discutere e valutare i risultati derivanti da un’accurata analisi COSTI-BENEFICI.

I found Five Minutes Mr. Welles, seeing D'Onofrio playing Orson Welles made me like him even more. There is something about his playing which seems slightly off when I started watching it, but he seems to get in it more and more. Perhaps it's the transitional nature of the character.

Elizabeth and her brother, Vincent (who plays Detective Robert Goren on Law & Order – Criminal Intent) grew up in Hialeah, Florida. Their father, Gene, designed sets and directed community theater in Coconut Grove. "That’s how I got into acting," Elizabeth told me. "Dad always had places where he was involved in set designing and acting. He started the Barn Theater in Miami Lakes."

D’Onofrio’s first foray into acting came in elementary school, where she "blew away the popular kids" when she got the lead in the school play. "I remember auditioning and all the ‘in girls’ thought one of them would get the lead," she remembered, laughing, "But then the director liked what I did, so I got it." Elizabeth said that it was acting that "got her through middle and high school."

When she turned 17, Elizabeth followed her father and brother to Colorado, where Gene started several theater companies. One day, she overheard them talking to some of the other girls in the company about how they were going to move to New York City to become actresses. "I said, ‘what about me? I want to go, too’," Elizabeth told me. "Turns out my brother also wanted to go, so Dad set us up with Sonia Moore at the American Stanislavsky Theater." This would mark a major beginning in Elizabeth’s life – one that would influence her acting from that point on. Sonia Moore was one of the most sought-after instructors in New York as she had studied under Constantin Stanislavski at The Moscow Art Theater in Russia. From that moment on, D’Onofrio would be both a student and later a teacher of Lee Strasburg’s Method.

Method acting is when an actor will try to replicate real life emotional conditions under which the character operates, in an effort to create a life-like, realistic performance. The actor or actress recalls emotions or reactions from his or her own life and uses them to identify with the character being portrayed.

"It’s kind of like when you hear an old song, if that song ever meant anything to you, it will take you back to when you first heard it, who you were with and your feelings about the situation you were in," Elizabeth explained.

In New York, she and Vincent lived first with relatives in Brooklyn before moving to a loft downtown near the South Street Seaport. "My brother built dividers, and we lived that way for years – working, going to school, and going to auditions. It was the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s then, what a wonderful time to be in New York." Elizabeth moved on to study with Sharon Chatten of the Actor’s Studio before following Chatten and her brother to Los Angeles. "I moved to LA when I was 31. By then I had had my son, and my brother was making films. I studied alongside Marg Helgenberger, Matthew Modine, Ben Stiller, and others. Some of us were working by then and some of us weren’t."

Elizabeth told me that one of her old roommates from New York, a writer, was living in L.A. at the time and that she had written a play with a character based on how Elizabeth was in New York. "So I acted in her play, as myself – but myself at an earlier time," she told me.

D’Onofrio continued to study with Sharon Chatten, who had also moved to California, until her son was 11 years old. "Then, since I really wasn’t getting any work, I decided to move to a smaller town and devote the next 6 or 7 years to raising my son in a good place."

The move took them to Brevard, North Carolina, just southeast of Asheville, where Elizabeth would become a teacher. "I first started teaching back in Colorado. My boyfriend at the time – and my son’s father – was a musician, and there were these college kids that would come over and jam with him. When I told them I was an actress, they said ‘Teach us’, so I did."

In Brevard, Elizabeth taught classes and began her workshops, the first of which she gave – with her brother Vincent – at a film festival they started called the River Run International Film Festival. "It was great, my brother and I talked about what we learned and how we applied it to our work."

The following year she gave another workshop at the Asheville Film Festival and got some of her students to come and do scenes. This was followed by workshops in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, Women In Film in Dallas, Myrtle Beach and Miami International University.

Elizabeth’s film credits include, "Household Saints", "The Whole Wide World", "Ace Ventura II", "The Velocity of Gary", "Slice", "Lunch Box" and "Dear Angry". She has worked in numerous Off Broadway and produced three short films, "Waiting for Jilly", "The Chocolate Fetish", and "Awaken the Dawn" – the latter of which she wrote, produced and starred in.

D’Onofrio moved to the Lee County area two years ago this month. "Dad moved to Raleigh, and my mom lives in Cape Coral. When my sister passed away four years ago, Mom got custody of her daughter and the family ‘voted’ that I would move down to help her," she says of the reason she relocated. She has since been trying to set up her workshops here and find an outlet for her life’s work.

"I read about the Orpheus Players in the Sand Paper, so I went down there one night and saw them perform ‘Johnny Mangano and His Astonishing Dogs’ at the Orpheus Cafe," she said. "I really enjoyed it – especially the fact that were performing plays that were different – not the usual community theater type stuff. I got to talking with Mark List, and he said that he had heard about Method and wanted to know what it was all about." She told me how she met Island Arts Foundation President Carl Conley at a get together a couple of weeks later at Mark’s home, and that she is excited about the possibility of offering her workshop at the new Purple Heart Theater.

"I would love to start teaching at a place like the Purple Heart," she told me. "I would like to be part of the initial program there."

Even though Elizabeth has worked with some famous names , she is still the most down to earth person you could ever meet. "I’ve been on both sides," she told me. "When you’ve been on both sides, you’re used to dealing with people on different levels. The most important thing is learning from your experiences. Take from it and build your own. I’ve built my own technique from what I’ve learned, and I’m always observing people, always learning."

Pordenone, 27 maggio 2008 - Il festival del cinema d'autore cala a Pordenone: il regista Alberto D'Onofrio sta girando un documentario sull'erotismo e sessualità italiana con il primo ciak dedicato al 'caso Anna Ciriani' la sexy-prof del Noncello (Pordenone). Lo rivela il Messaggero Veneto.

Il tutto con testimonianze in presa diretta di studenti, docenti, cittadini, giornalisti, opinionisti e, naturalmente, della bella 'Madameweb' nickname d'assalto della sexy-prof. Superstar della trasgressione nel festival 2007 dell'erotismo di Berlino e in mille siti internet, Anna Ciriani si è sempre distinta come integerrima professoressa nel centro di educazione permanente per adulti della media di San Vito al Tagliamento (Pordenone).

Ora la sexy-prof debutta nel cinema, mentre permane 'disco rosso' per entrare nella scuola. La sua sfera privata e quella pubblica sono incompatibili, per l'ex-ministro dell'Istruzione Beppe Fioroni, tanto che è stata sospesa dal servizio.

Il documentario di D'Onofrio farà parte di una serie dal titolo 'Erotika italiana', dedicato ai temi legati all'erotismo e alla sensualità in Italia. Andrà in onda in prima serata su Cult, il canale 142 di Sky. Il regista, partendo dal caso Ciriani, vuole aprire un'esplorazione psico-sociologica sulla frattura tra vita privata sessuale e ambito sociale occupato.

Cara Ministra Carfagna,

nella vita sognare è fondamentale. C’è chi vorrebbe essere un grande scrittore, una buona madre, un imprenditore, un politico, chi sogna come ha fatto lei di diventare Miss Italia, o ancora, una buona guida per l’umanità.

C’è invece chi sogna d’essere felice, d’essere importante, d’essere amato e chi, è costretto a sognare di essere accettato per quello che si è…

Questo è il caso di tanti omosessuali italiani e non solo…

Nulla giustifica la sofferenza di dover spiegare la propria normalità, il proprio senso, che qualcuno ancora in preda ad un’acuta ignoranza ci vuole far passare per un difetto.

Abbiamo dovuto sopportare Sodoma e Gomorra, un girone ignobile nella “Divina” Commedia, i roghi e l’odore di finocchi, gli psichiatri che ci hanno etichettati come malati mentali, la Chiesa che ci ha definiti dei cancri, dei deviati, degli inutili perché sterili.

Abbiamo e stiamo ancora sopportando la violenza che alcune infelici espressioni politiche hanno quasi legittimato nella società, i ragazzi che si suicidano perché qualcuno gli ha fatto credere di non essere “normali”, che hanno rinunciato a quella vita che qualcuno ha deciso di snaturare, d’impoverire, d’infangare.

Stiamo sopportando le madri che accoltellano le figlie perché amano, solo perché amano, ma l’Amore è semplicemente Amore, che sia uomo o donna non dovrebbe importare poco?

Abbiamo sopportato il dolore di Wilde, il corpo freddo di Pasolini straziato in terra, le fiamme dell’Olocausto, gli infiniti diari di solitudine di milioni d’uomini e donne costretti al silenzio, la frustrazione di chi di fronte ad una “normalità” che l’uomo stesso si è creato, deve essere chi non è, per sfuggire alla nostra triste realtà.

Stiamo sopportando chi ha definito il nostro un amore di seconda classe, chi ci discrimina, chi ci ritiene inferiori, chi si abbandona ad un triste “Meglio un figlio dawn, che gay!!”.

Stiamo sopportando chi sostiene che il nostro amore sia un pericolo per l’istituzione familiare. Una famiglia dove contano di più “figure sessuali” ben precise che non l’Amore incondizionato.  Abbiamo visto che Paesi ritenuti meno sviluppati dell’Italia, hanno riconosciuto legalmente, legittimato, salvaguardato, tutelato e garantito Pari Opportunità alle nostre unioni, sopportando che il nostro Governo si sia più volte sottomesso alla Chiesa non rispettando il concetto di laicità, di libertà ed uguaglianza.

Ora ci tocca sopportare anche Lei, che nega il patrocinio al Gay Pride, cercando di cancellare il problema della discriminazione omosessuale fingendo che non esista.

“I gay in Italia non sono discriminati” così ha cercato d’archiviare “il caso”, ma parole come queste, come già Vladimir Luxuria ha espresso, dimostrano come sia necessario scendere in piazza a manifestare il nostro orgoglio a chi ancora infastidito come Lei sorvola superficialmente sulle violenze psicologiche, morali e materiali che siamo costretti a subire.

Stiamo ancora combattendo perché tutto questo sia superato, perché si sia fieri di essere parte delle sfumature che fanno così bello e vario il mondo, e combatteremo ancora, anche per poter dire di essere fieri del nostro Paese, di far parte di quel tricolore che purtroppo ad oggi come Lei ha dimostrato, non ci accetta del tutto per quello che siamo…

Roma, 14 apr. (Adnkronos) - "Attendiamo dati piu' sicuri; ma mi sembra che ne' il Pdl ne' il Pd raggiungano il 50% dei voti e in Italia con il 40% o poco piu' non si governa, se si vuole fare un governo moderato ed equilibrato". E' l'analisi che fa Francesco D'Onofrio dalla sede dell'Udc, commentando le prime proiezioni che danno il suo partito al 5,8%. "L'impressione netta -afferma D'Onofrio- e' che al Senato l'Udc riesca a superare la quota dell'8% in molte regioni. Se questo dato sara' confermato, noi saremo comunque vincitori. Se poi saremo anche determinanti per le sorti del prossimo governo, questo lo si capira' bene davanti alla composizione della nuova aula di Palazzo Madama".

I have a spiritual household.

By that I mean, anything goes.

You can believe,  you cannot believe, you can have no opinion...but the idea, the gossamer whisper of faith and the beyond, will meet you at every turn.

I believe, just so you know, (little foreshadowing there), that the Virgin Mary, Mother Mary, Azna, has a sense of humor.

I believe this because I think she does not have an ego and therefore does not have the same scale, weight to taking herself seriously.

Tonight, in the kitchen, a few of the kids and I were kidding around, mimicking, being silly.  They ran down the hall and I heard one imitating me, saying, Oh, Blessed Mary.

Well, considering the laughter had taken the place of the call to clean moments before, I took things into my own hand.

I grabbed my little figure of Mary, (without hands I am afraid, the youngest, well, it's a long story, suffice to say he thought he was helping both me and Mary), and the cheap carved nativity scene (one piece, all in one, carved out for better handling), --- wait I digress.  See, I always wanted one of those really big loud life-like yard/lawn nativity scenes.  You know, the kind you could step up to, sit with, have a chat, move them around:  in other words, total control  of the beginning Biblical scenes.  So this little carved out piece, well, it was put up for Christmas and didn't come down because well, it was modified control on my part.

So there I am, Mary without hands in one hand, (no-no pun intended) and the nativity scene in the other, and I ran down the hall, and chased my children up the stairs, yelling, sinners, repent, clean, clean, clean.

Suffice to say, it only resulted in more laughter.

But it made me think, I truly believe in my heart, in my soul, in my older, wiser and often buried intelligence, that Mary has a sense of humor.
