Sammy Biddle, the Gion Project manager, announced the next new free ($0) souvenir from Gion today.

This gift is a beautiful kimono in a special color for the Gion Project souvenir gift series. The kimono in the other colors sells for $200. Such generosity!

This gift is available only until July 30.

You can expect more gifts from Gion to be released in the near future :-)

This kimono is available in the y.K shop. I've included the store's logo below, so you'll know when you're at the right shop.

The y.K shop is located at Gion/134/152/24. To get there, when you land, walk down the row of shops until you see the shop with logo below. It's not far from the Gion landing point.

Enjoy! Arigato!

A few weeks ago, I got the honor to travel to San Francisco and help them out at the Renegade Craft Fair. As you know, I made my first hobo bag below. Anyway, here's a wrap up of what happened at the show! Plus a look at some seriously awesome DIY indie designers!

Woo hoo! Laptop's working. This is the final in the series of my gawking at ladies on the street and at the bus stop with me. This is my favorite outfit, though my bus stop superstar's was way cuter than this is but it's pretty darn cute too. Mostly her fabrics were just way better than what I could come up with. Let's start with the skirt. Plain, wide pleated skirt in a linen fabric, hers had quite a colored pattern along the bottom edge. I went with a graphic lemon design in the same length as hers. Mine also has the lovely lace underskirt that gives it a little interest and depth of texture.

She had a layered two tank tops to give a neat tie to the colors in her skirt, I went with a standard white as I didn't want to detract from the skirt belt. The most striking item she had on was the little bolero. Hers a lovely knitted piece that had something shiny in it because I could see it shining, perhaps a woven in gold or silver thread. I went with a sheer yellow shirt with rolled sleeves. The top does have a knot at the front that I choose not to wear. She had a little leather purse not too flashy, I went with a teal purse that has buttons that echo the texture and color of my bracelet and ring. I love this layered look. I had forgotten completely that I had this sheer yellow top. If nothing else this has really forced me to examine my inventory and make things I had work for me. It was really great fun and I hope you all enjoyed it! Have a wonderful weekend!

Tonight is a scheduled girls' movie night. However, since the hostess is also having a birthday party for her youngest the following day, we girls decided to keep the weekend trips to 1. Fortunately, DH made plans of his own tonight, meaning I will probably get the place to myself (if he's feeling better, that is.) In the spirit of trying to get my butt in gear, I have decided tonight will be the beginning of two projects I have been dying to finish.

1) The brown and pink polka dot dress for yours truly. I cut out the pattern pieces roughly, so I just need to cut closer to the lines in order to get started cutting the fabric. I bought the zipper I needed for the dress too. I hope I got the right length. I didn't have my notes with me. Either way it should work out fine. I can always exchange it. Now I have no other excuses, but to get to work!

2) Crochet this shrug: Shrug Springs Eternal in black with a purple ribbon for the closure. I bought this lovely extra fine yarn at Pacific Fabrics yesterday. I hope it's enough, I only bought one skien. I will be posting pictures here as soon as I get started.

In the Help Desk column, the editors of T: The New York Times Style Magazine answer questions from readers. Submit your queries on fashion, travel, design and entertaining to The Moment.

Question: It seems that all of my friends -- and random cousins -- are getting married between now and December. I don't want to wear the same dress over and over again, but I can't really afford to buy a new gown for each one. Please help.

Answered by: Karla M. Martinez, T’s women’s market director.

I hear you. This year I was invited to nearly a dozen weddings -- each one calling for different "attire." I started the circuit with a black tie wedding in Cartagena, Colombia, made stops in Texas, Mexico and the south of France, and will end up in San Salvador in November. I have had to find the perfect dress for each occasion -- not to mention each climate -- without spending a fortune. In other words, I've done my research. My search started while I was back home in El Paso. The closest Neiman Marcus is 6 hours away by car and the fanciest designer label at the fanciest local department store is St. John, so I had my work cut out for me. A quick survey of Dillard's, however, led me to a number of dresses by designers like BCBG that were totally cute -- for less than $200.

When I returned to New York City, Melissa Ventosa Martin (T's women's fashion associate) and I broadened the search to find dresses for the following kinds of weddings: black tie, city, garden, beach and traditional (or "country club"). The simpler options -- like the classic black cocktail dress -- can easily be "reinvented" by adding a strong piece of jewelry, say a bracelet or a pair of earrings. But no matter what dress you go with, always remember: never upstage the bride. This year I have seen more guests dressed in white than ever before -- always to the dismay of the woman walking down the aisle. If you want to wear white to a wedding, make sure you're the one who's getting married.

Even though my natural waist measurement is 32 inches (exactly), I followed the advice from one of my fellow maids and ordered a size down. It just arrived and it fits like a glove-- a smokin' hot, sexy glove. I might just have a new go-to dress :)

My matron of honor found this website and i was excited because i didn't want the girls to spend a fortune on a dress. The are everything i expected and they a good quality dresses.

I've bought a lot of thing recently. I mean a lot.

Everything is a bit hectic at the moment, and the fact that I'm not in a stable relationship makes me feel like I don't have a base to lean on at the end of the day. ... Hence, I shop.

From Mon Petit Coeur to the new iPhone (yes, I got it that weekend) to the massive amounts of clothes, my credit card number's been flying all over the internets. And on this particularly hectic day (after a week of running to client meetings, making new business collateral and copious social activity + alcohol), I thought I'd share some of my treasures. :)

There are the dresses and jacket that arrived in the mail from Nordstroms today:

.

The best part? All the dresses were under $30!

I know this jacket might make me look a lot older. However, with my round and short frame, the jacket will probably look very short and hopefully a bit Jackie-O. If not, I heard Nordstrom has a great return policy.

.

Quickly moving on, here are my spoils from the Aldo sale (yes! I'm so all about sales right now. I've never been the thrift store type, both because the styles usually don't fit my body shape and I don't like wearing someone's old clothes):

Both are incredibly comfortable, especially the Chilliwack (the patterned cloth flat on the bottom), which I'm currently wearing and totally loving.

.

At this point, you probably think I'm done... at least almost done. Well, you'd be down right wrong. I'm not even going to put pictures of the Stila lip glosses and eye shades that I bought. They're from hautelook.com, which is one of my favorite sites right now. Go sign up for exclusive sales because they get sale items before they go out to the public. (Do me a favor and use birthofgaia@yahoo.com as your referrer.)

My most recent treasure from them is this beautiful pair of William Blast jeans. I LOVE them, although they's a bit saggy around the hips. It's nice that I probably *cross fingers* will never have to worry about getting a fat ass, but I do have to buy a belt because these pants keep falling off. Thankfully my gigantic thighs keep them in place so they don't fall off completely (thanks, mom, for making me take 6 years of ballet). A note on the price: I TOTALLY got this for $100 from $300. Yes!

.

Barring the three tops and two pairs of jeans I got from the LuckyBrandJeans sale, I'm pretty much done.

I feel like a huge weight's just been lifted off me from saying all of that. I can't wait to go home tonight and try it all on. If I look decent enough, I'll even post pictures. :-)

Me and my oracle/angel cards have quite a tempestuous relationship. When they're good they're very good but when they're bad its a case of people looking at me thinking 'you mad bitch!'. Last summer I gave quite a few readings with some success.

And then I gave up on them...

Three weeks ago I decided to give it another shot. So I've spent several lenghty sessions practising and trying to 'tune' into it all again. So far, so good I must say!

Although this time, I've decided to do it with a bit of a twist. Instead of doing readings in person, I've decided to conduct them over the internet. I've tried a few via email and they've been pretty good so I'm now offering my services to the lovely bloggers here on wordpress.

I could possibly be being just a little bit over enthusiastic with the whole thing but sure I'll give it ago!!!

So if anybody out there is interested in having an angel reading done by me, just leave me a comment and I'll get back to you asap.

Keeping the faith, guys...:)

Meanwhile....

In between honing the whole angel card thing, Miss Agenda has been very busy- Looking up pretty dresses. Not because I need any more of them but purely because I needed some serious eye candy.

And what eye candy I found!

Whether its corsets and cool colours or cute 50's style numbers you're looking for, I've found them:

Check out http://www.uptight-clothing.co.uk

This should be special, therefore, I'm posting my special dress I wore to work today.

Employment in a high-end fashion store has got me straining myself every morning about what to wear. Not too flashy, too preppy, too cazh, or too blah.

I always stand by my self-made adage: Style is inherent; either you have it or you don't. It can't be learned, maybe a little, but along the way, if it isn't in you, bumps will be, as my dad's hyperbole puts it, road drumholes.

The pattern is a mail-order pattern with not many details. There is no brand name or publisher list

The pattern is a mail-order pattern with not many details. There is no brand name or publisher listed anywhere. I plan on making this in a small check navy gingham that is already in my stash. I'm really struggling with the fit. I think this is partly because it is the smallest pattern I've ever used. It's a vintage size 13 which means that it is a junior pattern and fits a 32in bust.
Here is the muslin.

It looks like I need to lower the waistline and adjust the placement of the bust gathers. Also, the neckline is significantly higher than in the pattern illustration. I haven't decided if I'm going to change it or not. So far, the biggest problem is the shawl collar.
It is not well drafted and you can see all the wrinkles where I had to ease the collar into the back neck area. I need to take it apart, really look at the pieces and figure out why it isn't working. At this point, I think the collar is too long for the back neck, but I haven't messed with it yet.

Now I have a wedding to go to in Dec this year.... it's for my bestest buddy Amelia who moved to the UK last year and I haven't seen her since! Her man Mike proposed in Paris of all places... geez he coulda planned somewhere a bit more romantic couldn't he? :P and of course she accepted his offer to join him in the journey that is life!

So the date's set for Dec 21st and as I eagerly await the arrival of my invitation (yes I am invited... I'm thinking my threat of showing up anyway wearing *gasp* WHITE if I wasn't invited kinda cemented my place at the blessed event!) haha nah!

So I suffer deep buyer's remorse. Deep, deep buyer's remorse. Except not for something I recently bought, but for something I recently didn't buy. The Gypsy 05 Organic Maxi Dress. See, I tried it on while on vacation at the beach, seeking the perfect maxi dress I could wear around town and to work. I tried on the green one and it was soooo soft (it's organic and made from natural dyes!), I was perfectly willing to shell out the $100 bucks and then I thought to myself, "I can't wear this to work; it drags the ground." And so it goes. I put it back on the wall.

Everywhere I look now, it's on Paris, Kate, Tori, Hayden, Ashlee and even my favorite style star LC. I especially LOVE the simple ombre style pictured on Jordana Brewster above. Next paycheck? I already have a plan to order myself one in blue-although it's now on backorder. Sigh. Word to the wise. If you love, buy it. Otherwise, you'll just regret it later.

Here is the one I plan to buy (Redheads look good in blue and I'm not willing to shell out the extra $25 for ombre just yet. Hey! A girl's gotta have something to work towards.):

I started this outfit creating the skirt. It is sooooo gorgeous! You should see it moving! All the stars fly! They will orbit around you! Really nice!

It was originaly created in blue, and I tried dark red just to see how it looks... and... woooow.... fantastic! And it is also available in black.

Oh! This is important: no more "ugly pants as skirt-base", this outfit includes a gorgeous solution!
I also prepared 2 different skirts options, to better fit your avatar size (size A, and size B).
Anyway... if it still doesnt fit you... please, let me know if you need help to stretch it.

The outfit includes: Dress & Lingerie (including 7 pieces: top, 2 skirts sizes, pants-as-skirt-base, bra, underpants, socks)
(Some times the skirt will show the top of your socks ;-)

This is a gorgeous and versatile black dress!
If you wear all layers, you will dressy and ready to party in a gorgeous black sequin dress!
If you wear just the shirt and skirt, and you will have a basic black dress. You can add your own accessories to customize your appeal! Or... you can wear just the sequin jacket with one of your cute pants, and you will be into a dressy casual outfit! ;-)

By the way: I sewed the sequins one by one... It is also available in purple sequin.

The outfit includes: shirt, sequin jacket, and flexy skirt. The important detail about it is regarding the high quality flex skirt!! It will never disappear when you have a sit... (this is a scripted skirt, I recommend you to read the "readme" notecard. If you need any help, IM me!)

On my way south to Cote d'Azur, I decided to stop by some few days on Arles to appreciate this gorgeous village where Van Gogh created some of his Master Pieces!
Suddlenly I figured out myself wishing to jump inside those paints, wishing to be embraced by them... wishing to wear them! Well.. why not???

This was the inspiration I used to create this new release: Sams Secret ARLES Dress! :-)

The outfit includes: shirt and flex skirt. The important detail about it is regarding the high quality flex skirt!! It will never disappear when you have a sit... (this is a scripted skirt, I recommend you to read the "readme" notecard. If you need any help, IM me!)

EXPLORING SL
By the way.... if you really wanna explore Van Gogh on SL, I recommend you, after shopping at my Boutique ;-), to go visit "Virtual Starry Night - Vincent's Second Life" - A permanent exhibition of the master pieces by Vincent Van Gogh. Museum with comprehensive collection and 3D rendered paintings
