This will be my kind of lame attempt at my first bigSmellyBlog post and in fact my first ever full blog post. I have spent the last 8 hours hooking up the domain name and trying to find the things in the wordpress dashboard that I want to tweak.

Now mentally drained I don't think it looks too bad, I just don't have the energy to think of something decent to post about! I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow.

In the mean time where the hell is the "Hash" key on apple keyboards? I only just realised there isn't one!

Living up to the name, this is a big smelly blog post.

Hello, my name is Trent and I'm 13 years old. I have an annoying little brother named Grayson and a mom and dad. This is my first Blog, so I'm a little new to this. I'm a big fan of art (especially of the mythical sort of stuff), and one of my favorite sites is www.neondragonart.com. I also enjoy video games and reading, but I don't like to play any sports. As you can see by my header, I like the show Naruto. If you have a problem with it, I'm sorry but I"m not going to change. I like what I like and I'm proud. I hope to become a graphic designer for video games, so I'm planning on going to Columbus College of Art and Design. There's not really anything else to tell you, so I'll blog later. Bye.

As mentioned, this week has been a week of multiple ‘first-times’! I’ve unknowing

As mentioned, this week has been a week of multiple 'first-times'! I've unknowingly attempted so much that i've not planned for and the feeling, after going through it all , is just GREAT. I was watching a hongkong movie today on Chn 62 and i was unexpectedly enlightened! One of the lead actresses mentioned something about life being full of fears and we should take every single possible opportunity to overcome these fears before gets too late to regret those great things we could have done, but retreated due to our lack of confidence and fear. Sounds like a logic that almost everyone knows, but fail to put into practice till our deathbeds. And we lie there , in that wooden box buried 6 feets under wondering what we could have done for those past times.

The first activity that zoomed the week was the Flying Trip @ Malaysia last saturday. It was spectacular. Initially it was kinda weird cuz most of the guys who went for the trip were like super engineering students who were particularly keen on aviation. Man, i bet they were wondering what on earth was an arts student like me doing in the midst of this 'we-love-engineering' group. But well oh well, putting such differences aside, i must say i thoroughly enjoyed myself that day, although personal flight time was only 30 minutes. The day started with some introductions , followed by some Voice procedure briefings and introduction to some ground school lessons. The flight started with the instructing pilot controlling the key controls while we steer the direction of the plane. Take off was smooth but as the plane ascended, my heart started to pounce faster and faster. The thrill started when i tried to descend the plane just a little, it felt so much like a roller coastal fall . You know, the feeling of having your heart in your mouth. Words can't describe how great the feeling of controlling the plane yourself is, although i was a little paranoid. The highlight of the flight for me , was definitely the air acrobatics that the pilot performed. And guess what, I was sitting right in the cockpit ! We did sharp manoeuvres , fast flypast many weird and really exciting moves that got me pretty much in shock actually. The plane certainly didn't look capable of carrying out such high-speed stunts! The biggest thing that i experience was the plane fall! Or at least, it felt like a plane fall. The plane just dived right towards the woods below with me feeling as if i'm in Jurassic Park 3 with my 747 crashing right into the woods , totally bounded only by the straps of the safety belt.My headset flew right to the back behind me totally. All the force was just totally brought up to my head!As scarey as it sounds, its still a DAMN cool experience, i have never experienced such weird force effects before.. superb experience of the year. Kudos!

Next up ..'work stuff'..totally no mood to talk about it now but hmm in short. I received a new jobscope and a new 'working environment'. i am adapting slightly well so hope things go smoothly till i finally 'FINISH my BOND'. So thats something totally new for me too.

And today i did something really stupidly new too, that was being emcee for a event. It was kinda stressing, considering this was my first time doing it. Handling such a role with no prior experience in such a rather massive event.. i have to admit i was superbly nervous through out and i tried my best although i screwed up a couple of times...i got pissed off at times too and i felt bad for my mistakes. But sometimes i wonder if its worth the the point of feeling bad for these people above us because they have to answer for our mistakes. But who knows , maybe we're just simply their stepping stones to higher grounds. I'm not sure about this, but i certainly hope these guys aren't like that.but still, i can't believe someone fussed me over a stupid little small error!! Oh my..please don't give me so many first times in a week ok?! Its just super pants-peeing.

So I’m writing this on the end of day two. I’m actually writing this on a sticky note

So I'm writing this on the end of day two. I'm actually writing this on a sticky note because i don't get internet here in my dorm room and i'll upload this as soon as i get internet back in the main sanctuary. Here's a quick recap of what went on in the past 2 days.

So the four of us got to the airport around 9ish where we met about 18-20 other people that were going on this program in korea. Once everyone checked in their cargo bags, we all got in line to get our carry-on bags inspected. Everyone got through ok except Sam got scolded by a security guard for not taking his laptop out of his bag and also his sandal got lost in the conveyer when it went through the x-ray. we then made about a 5 min walk all the way to our gate which seemed like it was on the other side of the airport. We, literally walked from one end of the airport to the other to get to our gate -__- when we got to our gate, we introduced ourselves to some of the cool people that were going with us and had some conversations about where they go to school, what year they were, and how they found out about this trip, etc..... by the time we got on the plane we met about 6 new people and i finished a sudoku.

The plane ride felt pretty short even though it was 12 hours long. most of the time was spent either watching a movie, sleeping or eating. We finally touched down @ Incheon Airport at around 5:00 a.m. Right when we got off the plane, the humidity/heat just punched us in the face. it's like a 24hour sauna. We then go to the baggage carousel to get our bags and I open my bag to see if anything popped and behold....my 12.6 fl. oz. bottle of pantene pro-v was oozing all around my luggage. It wasn't that bad in the actual luggage but a lot of it spilled out in my toiletry bag which, thankfully, i bought the day we left. But since about 11 oz. of it had spilled out, the toiletry bag couldn't contain all of it and about 3 oz. had gotten into my luggage... but i couldn't stay mad at my pro-v because it smells so good which in turn made my bag smell good, which in turn made me smell while i was washing out the bag in the airport for about 10 mins. it was a soapy, bubbly, slippery mess and i didn't have the time to clean it all out.

So after that we got on a bus to go to the actual school in eumseong which was about a 2-3 hour drive. The pros of the bus, was that there was air conditioning so it was nice and cool and not so humid. the cons were it had no bathroom. I had spent so much time washing my bag during our bathroom break that i forgot to pee. So at around 7:00 am I had to go pee. Bad. We then arrived @ the school at around 8:15. I've never felt more released in my life.

Then after that i forget the order of things and it's not that interesting so ill just summarize. We had a short meeting, we got a short tour (that really wasn't a tour at all because we just stood in one spot and the pastor just pointed @ things and said what they were) unpacked, played some basketball, and ate. The only thing worth talking about is the meal. We were supposed to eat at the school if the cooks could cook for us but that didn't work out so we went to a nearby restaurant where we had kimchee ji gae and soondubu. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Although i felt kind of bad because it was an old grandma that made it all by herself for 20 loud college americans with side dishes and rice for everyone also. And the price was sweet to. about 4.50 for a soup which is soooo good compared to the $15 soondubu that i had in SLO.

After all this we finally learned a little bit more about what were exactly doing in korea. It turns out, that were only at the school for a week to prepare for the children's camp by making lessons plans from english books and also creating extra curricular activities for the kids like sing-a-long songs, dances, speech, etc... We all spent most of the day preparing for that.

At the end of the day, we had chapel where we did some worship and heard a really short message about LOVE of course from 1 Corinthians 13. The speaker kept it short and sweet. I especially got a lot out of it because he mainly focused on the part where even through the sacrifice and service of missions, without love, we gain nothing. And it's not just our love that we could give to the kids in these camps but really sharing the Love that God has for his people. Honestly, I don't even know the extent of love that i could give to a stranger that i'll be only spending time with for 1 or 2 weeks. This service and this sacrifice with the love that I could give would gain me nothing. I honestly think i did come to korea with the mindset that I'll glorify God by doing this service, this mission trip, which is to teach english and maybe....maybe share the Gospel if the opportunity arises. But even through service alone I will gain nothing from God or from these people that I'm around in this place. So, from all this, I'm trying to remind myself of why i'm really here. Not to share my love, or lack thereof, but really to share the emotion that God has for His people. His true Love and his desire to be connected with his creation.

The Second Day,

Most of this day was spent basically to continue to prepare and finish lessons plans/ extra curricular activity plans. This was our first full day so we were able to eat all three meals and they were all delicious. I've never had such good camp food. I took some pictures of the kind of food were having here so hopefully I'll have it up when i get pictures imported. Also another funny thing that has come up is that it's so humid and hot outside that we find ourselves saying, "let's go inside for some fresh air." It's a very weird and opposite environment out here but none the less the scenery here is beautiful. Everything here is very green and lush. I'm hoping that i can take some time out on one of the breaks and go outside the camp to take some pictures and go a little sightseeing before we leave here.

In today's Chapel, We had Pastor Randy, "the prince of pasadena" give a message. He started out his message by saying, "What are the benefits of Christ?" One thing that really spoke out to me was that he said that some of us are just so within sin that we use the term of "Christian" or "being a Christian" and turn it into just being a nice guy or a nice person. Which I agree with him sometimes. We just try to do everything right without the power of Christ leading us. He also touched on us being defined by our fears of created things for example, maybe that job that we really want or were trying so hard in school to get. We fear that we need to do this and that to get that career so that we can be happy and satisfied in this world. Ultimately, and I learned a lot of this from the Don't Waste Your Life book study that we had in the summer, we are to be transformed and defined by the power of Christ and the Cross. Not by works, not by deeds. Being a nice guy SAVES NO ONE.

Ok. It's 1:07 and I need to go to sleep now. Super tired. But the good news is that I think I'm almost over my jet lag. In one night! I hope this entry wasn't too boring and i don't blame you...it looks long :D. Thanks for reading.

-dan

P.S. Sam fell asleep while he was journaling...pictures to come.

Prayer Requests:

- Pray that I may be able to reflect the Love of Christ to others while i'm on this trip.

- Even though we learned a lot more about the camp there is still a lot of uncertainty. because there are five different camps, we don't know which one's were going to. Kacy, Steph, Sam, and I may even be split up. Pray that we will be able to trust in God where ever we go whether we're apart or if we're together.

- Some of the camps, we found out are put on by the government and they specifically asked us not to be religious on these kids. Pray that the teachers that are placed in these camps will still find opportunity to share Gods Love. We find out which camps we go to tomorrow so i'll fill you in on that on the next post hopefully.

- Pray for continued safety, and a prayer of praise because we are all healthy and being fed well :D.

Hola,

Okay, so first one! So basically I'm here for information, inspiration, motivation and satisfaction. I'm so happy with my life right now, if anything changed I'd be upset, but the only problem I have is with my body. I certainly wouldn't say that I'm fat. I'm definitely on the "skinny" end of the spectrum, but I have zero muscle. Absolutely none. There lies what I want to change. I'm the typical "I don't have time to work out" person, so I'm trying to change that once I go to college. I'm terribly inactive and it's terribly unfortunate. So, every week I'll post the following stats, just to chart my progress. This isn't to brag, but rather to show myself how it's working! Wish me luck!

P.S. - This is going to sound strange, but I'm trying to restore my foreskin. I'll post how long I tape each time as well.

First post, I decided to do an App review.

This one is Twinkle. A useful social Networking Application that links with your Tapulous account, and if you have one, your Twitter account.

The really nice thing about Twinkle, is it shows people around you, narrowed down to anyone within 1000, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2, and 1 miles of you. You can also set it to people everywhere. However it doesn't show people who use other twitter apps such as Twitterific, however this can be forgiven.

It can be looked at as a very useful app or a useless app. I choose to think of it as a good thing, because it can help in any number of ways. From meeting up with friends, meeting new ones, learning about things happening around you, or even for support with something you have an issue with.

Right after the App launched, Amazon S3 had some issues, causing a lot of problems with the App, however they are working hard to recover from that and will be back to normal soon. So ignore any crashes over the next few days, and try it out!

Bottom Line: If you like Twitter, you will love Twinkle. If you dont like Twitter, or are in-between, at least give it a try. I didnt like it right away, but now it is my favorite App. It can be used often, or just once in a while. It is a solid app, which has so far only had issues because of Amazons S3 Accident.
