Adobe Flash Player 9 not running or installation problem solved, fixed!
Trubleshoting. This is How t

Adobe Flash Player 9 not running or installation problem solved, fixed!
Trubleshoting. This is How to fix the problem with flash player not running or not installing:

Big Problem! Sometimes, on youtube you get the message:
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player
You do, but you could not install. Or you just can't see flash movies or the installation at Adobe site, when the page get not finished. Or missing flash files or flash movies.
This is most common with windows SP2, IE7 and the update Adobe Flash player 9 but it happens on Vista especially with UAP turned on.
:!: Just in case: I assumed you have java enabled, if not, check in IE:
Tools - Internet Options - Advanced -
then scroll through you find: Java, the box below it should be checked.
:!: Another thing to check, if you have spybot search and destroy, this tool has a flash killer setting. Please, verify this to be NOT checked.

So let's see what can we do to fix it.
1. First download the Adobe flash uninstaller tool from here:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

Then, download the stand alone full instaler for Flash Player here:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_ie

2. Then, run the uninstaller tool but run as administrator:
Right click on, and chose: Run as... Administrator
For Vista users must have administrative rights or chose Run Elevated
3. Reboot
4. Run the stand alone instaler tool, as above, right click, "Run as... administrator" for XP or "Run Elevated" for Vista.
5. Reboot.
6. You are Done! :D

Important: If you have download the .msi Microsoft Installer package for Adobe Flash Player, not the simple one from the link above, this file, the installer, might be blocked. For avoid problems with installation, before you run it, right click on the installer, select Properties and on the General tab, at bottom, near Security you will see a button: Unblock. You must press that button and unblock that file before run the msi installer.

If Adobe Flash Player not work after the steps above you can still do this:
For Win XP and Vista
1. Open My Computer.
2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\ ( or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ for Vista 64 bit )
3. Go to Macromed directory. ( not Macromedia )
4. Open Flash directory.
5. Right click the FlashUtil9b.
6. Select Run as... Administrator.
7. At the UAC prompt select Continue.
8. Install Flash Player.
9. Reboot
10. Done! :D

It’s funny how people will drive an extra mile to save 3 cents a gallon on gas, but won’

It's funny how people will drive an extra mile to save 3 cents a gallon on gas, but won't think twice about paying their electric bill, without any thought to how it was calculated or how it got that high!

It's funny how people will drive the extra mile to a grocery store which advertises milk on "Sale" for $3.79 a gallon vs $3.99 a gallon, to lower their expenditures, but when they pay their utility bills, it's like, well, what can I do!

It is very sad that we haven't any control over the cost of electricity, water, natural gas and other overhead costs. Sure, you can lower your standard of living by raising your thermostat, so it's almost unbearably cold or hot. Sure, you can take monkey baths, stink more often or leave the grease on, just so your water bill will be lower. But we still have to pay whatever they charge us.

It's sad. It's annoying. It's unbearable----but----now it "pays us to research", look into alternative methods of reducing these fixed costs.

Because costs are going out of sight, we can install devices that do cost upfront money, but'll eventually lower our fixed costs by lowering the demand for electricity, water and gas. Now it'll pay to make these types of investment.

Payback is usually between 6 months and 3 years. After that, and forever more your overheads will cost less.

Regarding electrical bills, there's a device called the GESPER, which stands for Green Energy Surge Protection and Energy Reducer. After installing the GESPER before your electrical panel, electricity flows through the GESPER before powering your appliances and lights. The spikes and surges are eliminated, the harmonics are reduced and smoothed out giving your electrical devices just what they need to operate efficiently.

Before, your air conditioner was an electrical hog, needing only 5 amps to run well, but getting 7 amps of "dirty power", wasting the other 2 amps into the air. But, you still paid for them! This alone lowered your usage by 40%. Multiply that throughout your house or business and you can see how this will lower your bill.

It would be the same as using a garden hose that had 10 holes in its sides and you were trying to water your bushes. Most of the water was wasted before it even got to your bushes.

The GESPER plugs these electrical leaks and delivers only smooth clean power to your appliances and lights.

I know of one restaurant that is now saving more than 30% of their normal electric bill, month after month. I know of one homeowner that is now saving more than 61% of their electric bill after comparing 3 years of bills.

It's time to get aggressive and plug the leaks. At the same time, we can help the environment, lower your own carbon footprint and give back to mother earth.

Check out this website, www.greenenergyreducers.com for more information about the GESPER and reducing your overheads.

Even while I move forward, progress
Eyes fixed on the future heading toward me
Arms swaying at my side
Tiny radiant sheer moments
Churn and pulse into who I am

This night 3AM (GMT+1) the corrupted file was removed from Download.com and a new file was uploaded named 36-image converter 4.4.3.8, since every site that lists 36IC, links to Download.com or our servers there is no need to panic. From now on you will have a fully functioning installer.

For the people that are affected : Delete the folder C:/Program Files/UIC Phoenxsoftware/36-image converter/ and install 36IC again since the uninstaller isn't working. This should fix everything.

Ella has been fixed.

I'd lie motionless on the ground, too.

It was just another morning for Ella. We got up, and let her in from her evening of slumber on the back patio. Always excited at the first sight of humanity, she wiggled into the house, and went straight for the laundry room door -- behind which lies the stash of chicken jerky treats she equates with the morning's first contact.

But today would be different. You see, dogs can't have anything to eat for 12 hours prior to surgery. So, this would be her first disappointment of the morning.

A ride in the car? "Fabulous" she must have thought. And it was...at least at the beginning. I took Ella to a wonderland, where dozens of dogs and cats were in the same room, some on leashes, some in boxes, all with exotic scents and unfamiliar barks and meows. While we waited, we even got to take a 20-minute walk, which took us by grocery stores, different plants, several humans. "Is this heaven?" We returned to the Fantasyland of the veterinary clinic, and soon thereafter Ella's name was announced. Her ears went up, tail started wagging, and she found herself in a back room, with strangers calling her by name, and patting her vigorously.

Then, a quick injection to the neck. "Things are getting a bit blurry. My master is leaving. I'm in a small box - I can smell the other animals, but can't get to them. I'm getting sleepy. What's going on?" After a long wait, she is injected again. Upon awakening, she's still in the cage, has a shaved tummy, stitches around her swollen belly, and she's loopy from the medication. "Something has gone terribly wrong here."

If Ella and I could talk, and I tried to explain to her why this had to happen, what would I tell her? "I know it hurts now, but you'll be glad we did this." Why will she be glad? "Count it a blessing, Ella, that you can no longer reproduce." Hmmm...somehow, I think what she's going through has more to do with we Hartley humans enjoying OUR lives than Ella enjoying hers. Rather than experience anything positive out of this, Ella has been denied a highly instinctual passion to have pups someday. Truth be told, Ella just took one for the team.

So, I pick her up...I, the very demon who took her to this place to begin with. I take her to the very car that transported her to the scene of the crime. I take her back home...and I STILL can't give her a chicken jerky - doctor's orders.

And here's where Ella disciples me yet again. I'm realizing again that, well, dogs just don't get bitter. They don't hold grudges. No matter what happened that day, she still saw me, and wagged her tail. She still wanted my company more than anything in the world (except maybe the jerky). I guess she is simply incapable of letting that one day's worth of events nullify what she has come to appreciate over the past months. My anesthetized pooch, despite her awful circumstances, is at peace.

God has so much going on. The circumstances of billions of people weave in and out of his sovereign mind, and everyone seems to think that, to a degree, they are the most important person on the planet. We all tend to pray out of our self-interest, with very little consideration the fact that, on occasion, God might need for us to "take one for the team" -- experience something that, to us, seems totally negative, with absolutely no silver lining -- all for the ultimate good of others, and ultimately for God to be glorified most profoundly by his creation. When these circumstances happen to us, we often say things like, "I'm so mad at God right now!" Or, "How could there be a God who could let this happen?" Some of us cease believing in God's goodness. Many of us are inclined to stay away from God rather than seek Him more. We question his care, even His sovereignty. Because we just can't see it from His perspective...only from ours.

Could I, even if I find myself bruised, scarred, frustrated and confused, remain eager to embrace the Master, choose His company, and bring Him my affection rather than a grudge?

Ella believes I am still good. Do I believe God is still good?

Oxford, MS - My dictionary defines “moderator” as “the nonpartisan presiding officer of a town

Oxford, MS - My dictionary defines “moderator” as “the nonpartisan presiding officer of a town meeting.” On Thursday, PBS anchor Gwen Ifill will serve as moderator for the first and only vice presidential debate. The stakes are high. The Commission on Presidential Debates, with the assent of the two campaigns, decided not to impose any guidelines on her duties or questions.

But there is nothing “moderate” about where Ifill stands on Barack Obama. She’s so far in the tank for the Democrat presidential candidate, her oxygen delivery line is running out.

In an imaginary world where liberal journalists are held to the same standards as everyone else, Ifill would be required to make a full disclosure at the start of the debate. She would be required to turn to the cameras and tell the national audience that she has a book coming out on January 20, 2009 – a date that just happens to coincide with the inauguration of the next president of the United States.

The title of Ifill’s book? “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.” Nonpartisan my foot.

Ifill’s publisher, Random House, is already busy hyping the book with YouTube clips of Ifill heaping praise on her subjects, including Obama and Obama-endorsing Mass. Governor Deval Patrick. The official promo for the book gushes:

“In The Breakthrough, veteran journalist Gwen Ifill surveys the American political landscape, shedding new light on the impact of Barack Obama’s stunning presidential campaign and introducing the emerging young African American politicians forging a bold new path to political power…Drawing on interviews with power brokers like Senator Obama, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Vernon Jordan, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, and many others, as well as her own razor-sharp observations and analysis of such issues as generational conflict and the ‘black enough’ conundrum, Ifill shows why this is a pivotal moment in American history.”

Ifill and her publisher are banking on an Obama/Biden win to buoy her book sales. The moderator expected to treat both sides fairly has grandiosely declared this the “Age of Obama.” Can you imagine a right-leaning journalist writing a book about the “stunning” McCain campaign and its “bold” path to reform timed for release on Inauguration Day – and then expecting a slot as a moderator for the nation’s sole vice presidential debate?

Yeah, I just registered 6.4 on the Snicker Richter Scale, too.

Despite the protestations of her colleagues that she will be fair, Ifill has appeared on numerous radio and TV talk shows over the past several months to cash in on her access to the Obama campaign. She recently penned a fawning cover story on the Obamas for Essence magazine that earned much buzz. The title? “The Obamas: Portrait of an American Family.” A sample of Ifill’s hard-hitting investigative journalism, illustrated with Kennedyesque photos of the Obamas and children posing at home on the backporch and by the piano:

“Barack Obama is sitting in the back of his rented luxury campaign bus with its granite counters and two flat-screen TVs. The Illinois senator’s arms are wrapped around his wife, Michelle, whom he doesn’t get to see much these days. At this very moment he is, of all things, singing.”

During the Democratic National Convention, Ifill offered her neutral analysis before Michelle Obama’s speech on NBC News: “A lot of people have never seen anything that looks like a Michelle Obama before. She’s educated, she’s beautiful, she’s tall, she tells you what she thinks and they hope that she can tell a story about Barack Obama and about herself…”

During the Republican National Convention, the PBS ombudsman fielded numerous complaints about Ifill’s coverage of Sarah Palin’s speech. Wrote Brian Meyers of Granby, Ct.:

“I was appalled by Gwen Ifill’s commentary directly following Gov. Sarah Palin’s speech. Her attitude was dismissive and the look on her face was one of disgust. Clearly, she was agitated by what most critics view as a well-delivered speech. It is quite obvious that Ms. Ifill supports Obama as she struggled to say anything redemptive about Gov. Palin’s performance. I am disappointed in Ms. Ifill’s complete disregard for journalistic objectivity.”

Like Obama, Ifill, who is black, is quick to play the race card at the first sign of criticism. In an interview with the Washington Post a few weeks ago, she carped: “[N]o one’s ever assumed a white reporter can’t cover a white candidate.”

It’s not the color of your skin, sweetie. It’s the color of your politics. Perhaps Ifill will be able to conceal it this week. But if the “stunning” “Breakthrough” she’s rooting for comes to pass on January 20, 2009, nobody will be fooled.

As Instapundit’s newsroom correspondent put it: “The fix is in, and it’s working.”

Bob Unruh adds:

Ifill declined to return a WND telephone message asking for a comment about her book project and whether its success would be expected should Obama lose. But she has faced criticism previously for not treating candidates of both major parties the same.

During a vice-presidential candidate debate she moderated in 2004 – when Democrat John Edwards attacked Republican Dick Cheney’s former employer, Halliburton – the vice president said, “I can respond, Gwen, but it’s going to take more than 30 seconds.”

“Well, that’s all you’ve got,” she told Cheney.

Ifill told the Associated Press Democrats were delighted with her answer, because they “thought I was being snippy to Cheney.” She explained that wasn’t her intent.

Uh-huh.

***

Greta Van Susteren reports that McCain didn’t know about Ifill’s book. “[T]he campaign (actually both) should have been told before the campaign agreed to have her moderate. It simply is not fair - in law, this would create a mistrial.”

***

Update: PBS and McCain agree: No big deal.

Update: Ifill plays the race card. Did I call it or what?

Ifill questions why people assume that her book will be favorable toward Obama.

“Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon (who is white) when he wrote his book about Reagan?” said Ifill, who is black. Asked if there were racial motives at play, she said, “I don’t know what it is. I find it curious.”

And note this:

The host of PBS’”Washington Week” and senior correspondent on “The NewsHour” said she did not tell the Commission on Presidential Debates about the book.

Update: Comic relief from Jim Treacher.

Update: Tim Graham at Newsbusters writes…

Gwen Ifill responded to questions about impartiality in an AP interview with David Bauder by suggesting the critics might be racist: “Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon (who is white) when he wrote his book about Reagan?” Asked if there were racial motives at play, she said, “I don’t know what it is. I find it curious.”

This is a curious complaint, since (a) Cannon was never the sole moderator or even a questioner in a Ronald Reagan debate in 1980 or 1984 and (b) Lou Cannon wrote at least five books about Reagan. Ifill is probably referring to President Reagan: Role of a Lifetime, released in 1991. An Amazon.com search also suggests the titles Ronald Reagan: A Life in Politics (2004), Governor Reagan (2003), Ronald Reagan: The Presidential Portfolio (with Michael Beschloss, 2003), Reagan (1982), and Ronnie & Jesse: A Political Odyssey (1969).

Oxford, MS - An Ivy League prof responds to the Gwen “Age of Obama” Ifill controversy, no doubt

Oxford, MS - An Ivy League prof responds to the Gwen “Age of Obama” Ifill controversy, no doubt with a tinge of regret in his voice, in an interview with the Boston Herald:

“It’s probably not the greatest thing on Earth that she is in that role and it’s probably going to really force her to be fully even-handed,” Thomas Patterson, professor of government and the press at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, told the Herald yesterday.

“Fully even-handed.”

As opposed to the usual partially (un)even-handed way the ogling Obamedia has operated the past 20 months.

Snort.

Anyway, Professor Patterson better be careful.

As I predicted Tuesday night, expressing even the slightest criticism of Ifill’s vested financial and ideological interest in the outcome of the election will get you labeled a…RACIST!

Speaking of which: You won’t believe (nah, you will believe) the number of e-mails from incensed Obama supporters who complained about this sentence in my column:

“It’s not the color of your skin, sweetie.”

The reference to Obama’s dismissive use of “sweetie” when addressing a female journalist sailed right over their heads.

Ignorant of the allusion, the complainers’ immediately proceeded to attack me for…RACISM!

On a related note, several readers send word of another Ifill who’s using the phrase “Age of Obama.” Go figure! It’s Ifill’s cousin, Sherrilyn, (”my brilliant baby cousin,” gushes Gwen). Here’s her piece, “The Relevance of Nooses and Lynching in the Age of Obama.” A sample:

The challenge for 2008 and beyond is for us to embrace the hope represented by the widespread acceptance of public figures like Barack Obama and Colin Powell, while continuing the hard work of sorting through the lingering effects and reality of white supremacy in our society.

And Ifill’s “brilliant baby cousin” weighs in on Sarah Palin (hat tip - Chris R.), whom she calls “offensive to black women:”

The actions and remarks of Palin are something that caught the eye of Sherrilyn Ifill, a University of Maryland law professor who has taught voting rights, equal protection and restorative justice.

“From the first day, Palin presented herself as shooting a bear in the morning, field dressing it, cooking up the breakfast, diapering the babies, passing legislation in the afternoon, cleaning the house, satisfying her husband, etc., etc., etc. And it’s just not true,” she wrote in an e-mail interview. “It’s hard to be an average working mom, really hard. And when women who are privileged present as though they have it all together, it’s offensive to black women.”

She said, “black women are not easily confused by false claims to feminism. When women like Palin lay claims to ‘representing’ average women, I think that black women have a visceral reaction to it.”

Ifill added that Palin “missed her opportunity when she announced Bristol’s pregnancy to explicitly talk about how painful it was to her as a mother - instead of making it as though this too was also part of her perfect life.

“Hillary has the sympathy of women because of what she went through with Bill in front of the whole country. Michelle [Obama] takes pains to be self-deprecating and to talk about her concerns and fear about her girls. She insists that she couldn’t do what she does without the help of her mother. Most importantly, both champion issues that affect the lives of real, average women - universal health care, equal pay, choice, etc. To do so is a recognition that real working women (not political wives or politicians) need olicies that will help them maintain their families. What’s the point of Palin’s brand of feminism if it doesn’t translate into real returns for average women?”

Riding to work, to a bar or coffeehouse, to a concert, to a party, or just to ride. Wearing clothes that are recognizable as shirts and pants, or even skirts or dresses.

One of the most important decisions a homeowner will have to make when deciding to re-finance their

One of the most important decisions a homeowner will have to make when deciding to re-finance their home is whether they want to refinance with a fixed mortgage, an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) or a hybrid loan which combines the two options. The names are pretty much self explanatory but basically a fixed rate mortgage is a mortgage where the interest rate remains constant and an ARM is a mortgage where the interest rate varies. The amount the interest rate varies is usually tied to an index such as the prime index. Additionally there are usually clauses which prevent the interest rate from rising or dropping dramatically during a specific period of time. This safety clause provides protection for both the homeowner and the lender.

Advantages of a Fixed Option

A fixed re-financing option is ideal for homeowners with good credit who are able to lock in a favorable interest rate. For these homeowners the interest rate they are able to retain makes it worthwhile for the homeowner to re-finance at the new interest rate. The major advantage to this type of re-financing options is stability. Homeowners who re-finance with a fixed mortgage rate do not have to be concerned about how their payments may vary during the course of the loan period.

Disadvantages of a Fixed Option

Although the ability to lock in a favorable interest rate is an advantage it can also be considered a disadvantage. This is because homeowners who re-finance to obtain a favorable interest rate will not be able to take advantage of subsequent interest rate drops unless they re-finance again in the future. This will result in the homeowner incurring additional closing costs when they re-finance again.

Advantages of an ARM Option

An ARM re-finance option is favorable in situations where the interest rate is expected to drop in the near future. Homeowners who are skilled at predicting trends in the economy and interest rates may consider re-financing with an ARM if they expect the rates to drop during the course of the loan period. However, interest rates are tied to a number of different factors and may rise unexpectedly at any time despite the predictions by industry experts.

A homeowner who can predict the future would be able to determine whether or not an ARM is the best re-financing option. However, since this is not possible homeowners have to either rely on their instincts and hope for the best or select a less risky option such as a fixed interest rate.

Disadvantages of an ARM Option

The most obvious disadvantage to an ARM re-financing option is that the interest rate may rise significantly and unexpectedly. In these situations the homeowner may suddenly find themselves paying significantly more each month to compensate for the higher interest rates. While this is a disadvantage, there are some elements of protection for both the homeowner and the lender. This often comes in the form of a clause in the terms of the contract which prevents the interest rate from being raised or lowered by a certain percentage over a specific period of time.

Consider a Hybrid Re-Financing Option

Homeowners who are undecided and find certain aspects of fixed rate mortgages as well as certain aspects of ARMs to be appealing might consider a hybrid re-financing option. A hybrid loans is one which combines both fixed interest rates and adjustable interest rates. This is often done by offering a fixed interest rate for an introductory period and then converting the mortgage to an ARM. In this option, lenders typically offer introductory interest rates which are extremely enticing to encourage homeowners to choose this option. A hybrid loan may also work in the opposite way by offering an ARM for a certain amount of time and then converting the mortgage to a fixed rate mortgage. This version can be quite risky as the homeowner may find the interest rates at the conclusion of the introductory period are not favorable to the homeowner.
