'Starving men do not fart!'

Pakistan is a quite nation today, we are a starved nation, metaphorically and literally. Some are deprived of 2 proper meals a day, others are deprived of their right to justice, some (like our president) are deprived of common sense, others dont get laid enough(so they blog!) so on and so forth...

However, we're not here to talk about how our economy's constipated, or how our president wants to squeeze Sarah Palin's knockers, we're here to talk about absolutely nothing!

The Dark fuckin' knight my friends, is a work of art! Ive always found batman to be the best of the superheroes, hes cooler, and he fights the big dogs running the system rather than the everyday sandman or radioactive baldie. Even though Prince Cinema's hall has more spots of pan than a memon's intestines, and the assholes started the movie with the las ketchup song (faulty audio), that didnt stop me from enjoying the movie. Heath ledger's joker was so crazy, the poor man ended up killing himself! :S

Some fucker stole my car and ruined my eid, but i got it back (minus my CNG kit) and im feelin' nutty again... :D

"Biryani khayein..... is say pehlay kay aap ki biryani khayee jayay!

From the New York Times bestselling author, the complete story of the last rock supergroup from their drugfueled blast-off in the 1980s to the turbulent life of legendary singer Axl Rose and his fifteen-year, multi-million dollar effort to make the perfect hardrock album.

With 90 million of the bands records sold worldwide since 1987, Guns N Roses prolonged rock music past its sell-by date with controversial albums and immense, often riotous world tours. But the bands complete story has never been fully tolduntil now. In his sixth major rock biography, Stephen Davis details the riveting story of a band that originated in the gutters of Sunset Strip and went on to set attendance records on the biggest stadiums on the planet.

Watch You Bleed documents the improbable story of W. Axl Rose, the biggest rock star of his generation. Taken from an abusive father in his infancy, he was raised as Bill Bailey in a strictly religious Indiana household by a stepfather who beat him for playing Led Zeppelin songs on the family piano. After quitting high school, and on the run from the police in his hometown, Axl arrived in Los Angeles in the midst of the street battles for supremacy among the top music genres of the eightiespost-punk, thrash, hair metal, and glam. The book also charts the backgrounds of every band member, especially Slash, a Hollywood street kid whose designer mother dated David Bowie.

Davis brilliantly captures the birth of Guns raw power, whichdespite rape charges, drug-induced rampages, and a general appetite for destruction launched the band into the pantheon of rock gods such as Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones. With a wealth of detail, Davis looks at Axls unrelenting quest to release the long-awaited, mystery-shrouded Chinese Democracy album, as well as the further adventures of some of the Gunners under the banner of the hard-rocking band Velvet Revolver. For the first time, millions of Guns N Roses fans will learn the whole truthsometimes funny, sometimes tragicabout the last of the great rock bands.

A cidade o amava.

What kind of city is Gotham? If it is plagued by corruption at multiple levels of power and influence, then what are the ways to purge it of its toxic elements? Why are they toxic? What is corruption? What about corruption concerns the Joker? And the Batman? And how do they each perceive and respond to corruption's unfolding? Finally, if this is the enduring reality of Gotham then what is daily life like in "the city"?

We did discuss manga as the PM is an enthusiast. Bob modestly explained that we were like manga superheroes, and then there was a fight about who was Batman and who was Robin. Or more like Mutt and Jeff. Though New York is more like Gotham City than ever, with Wall Street turning into a dark alley in the last week, Gotham’s streets don’t seem so golden....

Kenneth Branagh is negotiating to direct Thor for Marvel Studios, reports Variety. The comic book adaptation is scheduled for a June 4, 2010 release.

Thor, written by Mark Protosevich, follows disabled medical student Donald Blake, who has an alter ego as the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor.

Read more HERE.

It's been a bit since I've seen BRANAGH in movies like HAMLET, OTHELLO, and CONSPIRACY (the latter being my one of my favorite WW2 movies) but I think MARVEL is definitely on the right track with a THOR movie. There's no doubt BRANAGH's master of Shakespeare will come in handy when interpreting the Norse God of Thunder but I wonder about the whole Donald Blake alter-ego being reimagined and if it can work. I'm guessing most producers involved would assume that the human element is needed to make a better connection with audiences. Then again, an all out Force of Nature and what drives it could be an interesting approach as well.

My choice of storyline would be busting into Walt Simonson's 'Ragnarok' storyline from the mid 80's but I could see that going REALLY bad REALLY fast if done wrong. Simply too much to cram into what I assume will be an all out action first-story second a la the new HULK movie (which actually worked) or maybe the NBC HEROES series (which I think doesn't work as well).

Since the whole point here is an introduction and then the big AVENGER's team up movie, each hero (IRON MAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA etc.) getting some breathing room in their own separate installment should amount to some good pacing for character development.
One of the best books ever written on the rise and fall of a great college football coach.?
?Allen Barra, San Francisco Chronicle

The Lion in Autumn takes readers inside Penn State?s storied football program as legendary coach Joe Paterno fights to turn his struggling team into a winner once again. In more than a half century at Penn State, Paterno has won more bowl games (21) than any other coach and more games (354) than all but one, en route to two national championships and five perfect seasons. But in the new millennium hard times arrived in Happy Valley. His Nittany Lions had losing seasons in four of five years, dropping sixteen of twenty-three games in 2003 and 2004. There were boos at Beaver Stadium and increasing calls for the aging Paterno to step down.

Award-winning sportswriter Frank Fitzpatrick followed JoePa through the 2004 season as the beloved coach struggled to save himself and his storied program. Fitzpatrick trailed Paterno from fund-raisers to the spring practices to the sidelines, detailing how the coach endured another losing season while building a team that would win the Orange Bowl and compete for the national championship in 2005. Interweaving stories from past seasons into the narrative, Fitzpatrick fleshes out the legend of Paterno. BACKCOVER: ?Insightful. . . . Fascinating reading.? ?Chicago Tribune

Dark Knight mania may have ebbed in the few months since the blockbuster feature film’s releas

Dark Knight mania may have ebbed in the few months since the blockbuster feature film's release, but that just means people are biding their time until the DVD comes out, just in time for the holiday buying season.

Until then, there's no reason why you can't enjoy the resulting wave of fan films inspired by Batman that have been released online in recent times. Take, for instance, Batman: Dark Tomorrow and The Return, now online---or you can go see one in person this weekend.

Scott Hamilton, producer and an actor in Batman: Dark Tomorrow wrote in about his Bat-project:

"The film runs about 50 minutes long, and was shot for under $1,000. It isn't a film based on The Dark Knight, but it's about Batman and the Joker. I will go ahead and say that the film does not go too deep into the many possibilities that could be explored with the Batman/Joker relationship; we were more concerned with just making a fun and entertaining action/Batman film (it really picks up about 10 or 15 minutes into it). It has received very positive reviews from www.batmanfanfilms.com, including a great review from the site owner, Chayden.

If you don't have the patience for such a long flick, you may want to look into The Return; clocking in at about 13 minutes, it follows a poker game among a group of Gotham criminals, when (ahem) an uninvited guest shows up to spoil the evening. While the acting leaves a bit to be desired, it’s a pretty good flick; writer/director Neil Rickatson builds up a good amount of suspense through editing and then pays off with a nice twist. If you dig it, there's also a short "making of" piece on YouTube as well.

If you want to check out a Batman fan flick in-person, make your way to the Naperville Film Festival for The Family Matinee screenings this Saturday, September 27. They'll be showing The Dark Knight Project, which we've written about plenty of times here on FCT. Held at the A. Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, the Matinee screenings will be shown at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

As I posted in a previous ThrallWorld blog re: the legal issues surrounding WARNER BROTHERS and FOX over the rights to THE WATCHMEN movie, I took a stab in the dark about ALAN MOORE's possible take on the situation. ALAN MOORE has a very legitimate point in the medium wars between comic books and movies.

Read a detailed account on ALAN MOORE's take on all of this HERE.

While I am looking forward to ZACH SNYDER's take on THE WATCHMEN, I have spotted a red flag or two in the trailer. Number one being how the graphic novel always portrayed the character Nite Owl as a bit frumpy and washed up. The costumes might be a little pro-ish and modernish (the story takes place in the mid to late 1980's) for the rag tag super hero crew Moore was portraying in his tale.

There's a lot of layers in the MOORE story that will obviously be lost in the movie adaptation. But it is after all an adaptation so we'll see where SNYDER ends up with the final cut.

**WARNING: HEREIN CONTAINS DARK KNIGHT SPOILERS- SO, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT YET, I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT READING THIS, AND INSTEAD GET YOURSELF TO A FUCKING THEATER**

Ever since we heard the rumors about the next movies villians, it's got me thinking a lot about what direction Christopher Nolan is going to take in the next installment.

I had been very reluctant to think about it, though, because to me TDK was absolutely phenomenal, and with a few exceptions, a perfect film. And as much faith as I have in Nolan as a director, what in the world could they do to top this one?

So, I was thinking one way to make it work, and to really counteract the explosiveness of the last film, would be to take the next in a different direction- do something smaller, grittier, more - dare I say - intimate. Maybe even something which feels more like a stage play than a movie – I don’t know, something more like Memento ((and maybe even with David Julyan scoring rather than Zimmer, good as it is)). They’ve set it up well to go in that direction – Batman is on the run, his relationship with Lucius is strained ((if not severed entirely)) so that he won’t be able to just go to him with gadget requests anymore, Rachel has been killed, he and Gordon are the only to know that Harvey had truly been corrupted ((so what will that do to his own morale- knowing that the Joker had truly won)) and so on. Somehow he’ll have to repair what the events of TDK have broken, but that’s going to require operating on a smaller scale for awhile, I expect. Robin could work within this thematic framework, but it seems unlikely they’d go that way. And I'd really be dissapointed to see that.. I have always loathed Robin, and have always thought their relationship seemed forced and uncomfortable - definitely not natural - but that’s a whole different topic. Presumably in a third movie we’d be able to return to Wayne Manor, which itself could thematically represent some sort of shift back to the status quo.

As far as villians go.. Catwoman definitely could fit into this new direction, and seems like the most probable choice considering what circumstances we will be dealing with in the third movie. She would fit in Nolan's universe perfectly. Also, since Rachel is dead, they are going to need a new chick in the film. However, I doubt Warner Brothers wants to revisit that character any time soon.. and I'm also deathly afraid of who they would cast.

And here's an idea- what about some kind of Gotham Central TV Series set in the Nolanverse between TDK and film #3, ala The Dark Knight Returns? If Batman is in hiding to some extent, then he can just be a vague, undefined presence to some extent who doesn't have to directly appear.

One thing I am definitely looking forward to is the redemption of Batman. There must be one hell of a battle for him to overcome.. I don't think he will ever truly be accepted by Gotham, but I have a feeling he will at least be a little bit more appreciated at the end of the film than at the beginning. I'm just excited to see how that plays out, and a big part of that rests on what villian they choose.

Maybe the biggest clue is in the final scene. It’s clear that Nolan and co. regard the Batman/Gordon relationship as the moral foundation of the particular stories they’re telling. That may seem obvious, but I think it’s very much underscored in the last scene of TDK, which is a clear counterpoint to the last scene of Batman Begins. For example –- Gordon telling Batman “thank you” and him replying, “You don’t have to thank me” seems to be very much a reference to the last line of Batman Begins, and in general both scenes function to wrap up the moral point of the preceding story and establish what the guiding principle will be for the next one. Given that, as much as escalation was the driving force of TDK, can we surmise that Gotham learning to accept the hero they need will be the plot engine of the third film?

Also, maybe they will explore the idea of Batman being Gotham’s true villain- in the sense that it is he that is holding Gotham back from change and metamorphosis.

Oh crap, and now I'm all excited and they haven't even started making it yet.. this is going to be a long couple of years.

I think it's way to soon to talk about having WAR MACHINE in the second sequel. Especially with only a 2-3 movies to develop TONY STARK's character. I'm very familiar with Rhodey taking over the suit when Starks alcoholism got the best of him. I just think it will undermine the character if you try and jam that in there in the second movie. Give the character a chance to show why he dominates the entire Marvel Universe for at least two movies.

All depends on the writing I suppose.

Dark Knight, The
[ 4 stars out of 4 ]

Do I think this is the best superhero movie ever made and in comparison to what? Yes, I think it is the best superhero ever made (as of July 2008) and it's about five times better than the great "Spider-man 2." Do I think this is one of the best films of the 2000's? Yes, I do because it not only works as a first-rate superhero film, it also works as a gritty suspense-crime thriller (some scenes are as heart-pounding as "The Departed") influenced with noir films from the mid to late 1950's (such as "The Killing").

That said, I am both impressed and mildly disappointed with "The Dark Knight." I have two reasons why I was disappointed: the film was not I expected it to be and the so-called twists in the story weren't twists for me at all because I'm very familiar with the story of Batman along with the citizens and villains of Gotham City. I know the director, Christopher Nolan, means well when it comes to closely following the story of Batman; however, that comes with a price: the movie became almost too predictable. (Don't get me wrong--I love the fact that Nolan is sticking close to the mythology and providing us great movies for my favorite superhero.) So, when certain events happen, I was sometimes apathetic to them because I knew whether a character will die or live to fight another day. But I emphasize this: some of the twists I did not see coming at all, so those few unpredictable twists almost make up for the shortcomings.

Jumping back to first reason why I was slightly disappointed, I expected the film to be more like the first movie. I wanted to know more about Bruce Wayne's childhood and his relationship with his parents. I wanted a structure--a solid beginning, middle, and end. This film feels like one action scene after another--kind of like a long middle, if you will. On the other hand, that is not exactly a bad thing because a lack of structure and chaos is what this movie is aiming for, kind of like what the Joker is all about. And that's why I think this film is so brilliant: the thing I don't like about it is so fitting; it's feels so wrong to me but it feels so right when it comes to the movie's ongoing theme. Also, one could argue that this is a continuation of "Batman Begins" so a beginning is not necessary and neither is an ending because the next chapter is yet to come.

As for the actors, Christian Bale solidified himself as the best Batman because he was able to play his character with such complexity by having a gray moral compass. Although his intentions are good, the repercussions of his actions are sometimes negative. Maggie Gyllenhaal is a big improvement from Katie Holmes by playing Rachel Dawes, who is torn between two lovers. While Holmes comes off as whiny and irksome, Gyllenhaal is tough but vulnerable. Aaron Eckhart effectively showcases a character that supports the Joker's hypothesis. Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine were actually given more important roles this time around so their characters are able to grow and the audience can understand their motivations a bit better. I just have to mention Cillian Murphy's return as the Scarecrow, despite his small screen time, because he was completely brilliant as a once major villain turned into an ordinary criminal. Not only does his return tie up some loose ends from "Batman Begins," his return reminds us that Scarecrow is child's play compared to what the Joker is about to bring to Gotham City. If one is familiar with the mythology, it could be a hint (or serve as a ripple effect--a statement regarding the circular nature of the Batman universe) on what could happen in the third movie. Last but not least, Heath Ledger did an excellent job as the Joker. Ever since I was younger, I've always thought of the Joker as menacing more than anything else; the laughs come in BECAUSE his actions are so cruel and sadistic to the point where it's darkly comic, NOT the other way around.

Actors who've played Joker in the past often make that dire mistake of being funny more than half of the time. Ledger understood the Joker's core: he introduces chaos to the world for no reason. As one character gravely stated, "Some men just want to watch the world burn." Those characters often make the most terrifying and memorable villains. Since their motivations are unknown and they have nothing to lose, that evil can never be purged. Ledger's performance definitely reminded me of the ultra-violent Alex in "A Clockwork Orange." Do I think Ledger deserves at least an Oscar nomination for his role as the Joker? Most definitely. Does he deserve to win? Maybe. Only time will tell until or if someone else can do a better job playing a supporting actor role.

It was a great pleasure watching "The Dark Knight" despite its flaws because I knew that my favourite superhero's story is finally told with such focus, complexity, and heart. I can only hope that the next film will be just as good as "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight."

BATMAN FRATE !!!! Sumbru, aproape filmat doar in doua culori, rece, muzica potenteaza excelent totul, actiunea , desi tzine doua ore jumate, nu te lasa sa respiri. Dar, totusi, nu toate astea sunt "what makes it great". VIEW TRAILER

O czym dokładnie są same filmy?

A i fanboje dostali Conroy'a.
