El Perro Más Feo del Mundo. Gus el perro tiene tres patas, un ojo y nada de pelo, excepto por un mechón blanco en la coronilla, pero aún así es un ganador.
El perro, de pedigrí y de la raza chino con cresta, ganó el concurso del ‘Perro Más Feo del Mundo', el sábado en la feria Sonoma-Marin en el norte de California.
Su propietaria, Jeanenne Teed, llevó a Gus desde Saint Petersburg, Florida, para que compitiera por el dudoso honor.
Tras la emoción del momento, Teed expresó la reacción del perro: "Bueno, creo que justo ahora está listo para tomar una siesta".
La raza de perros chinos con cresta es una de las candidatas favoritas en el concurso anual. El campeón del año pasado, Elwood, fue una cruza entre un perro chino con cresta y un chihuahueño.
La propietaria de Gus ganó 500 dólares y viajará a Nueva York para participar en el programa ‘CBS This Morning'. El concurso será transmitido por el canal Animal Planet en octubre.

Pengamat Politik dari Universitas Airlangga (Unair) Kacung Marijan berpendapat kemenangan kubu Muhaimin itu akan berdampak pada kehancuran karir politik formal Gus Dur.

"Saya kira karir politik Gus Dur sudah selesai," tandas Kacung, Selasa (22/7/2008).

Namun demikian menurut dia, Gus Dur akan tetap mempunyai pengaruh yang kuat terutama di kalangan nahdliyin tradisional. Sehingga pernyataan Gus Dur yang akan memilih Golput dalam pemilu mendatang sebenarnya merugikan bagi PKB.

Sayangnya, kata Kacung, Gus Dur sepertinya tidak akan menempuh jalur islah untuk bersama-sama Muhaimin Iskandar menghadapi pemilu 2009. "Keduanya akan susah untuk diislahkan," tutupnya.

Golput akan Bertambah

Penyataan Gus Dur yang akan melakukan golput setelah upaya kasasinya ditolak MA diperkirakan akan mempengaruhi konstituen PKB yang loyal kepadanya.

"Ya cukup berpengaruh juga. Bisa satu atau dua juta simpatisan PKB yang akan meniru Golput," ujar Direktur Lingkar Madani Ray Rangkuti, Senin (21/7/2008).

Untuk itu dia memprediksi prolehan suara di PKB akan berkurang. Karena selain adanya sikap Gus Dur yang seolah meninggalkan PKB, isu perpecahan akan membuat pemilih berpikir dua kali untuk mendukung  partai nahdliyin itu. "Bagaimana pun ada isu perpecahan PKB," katanya.

Dengan kondisi seperti itu, sebagian massa akan mengalihkan dukungan ke partai lain yang dianggap representatif dengan NU seperti PKNU. "Massanya bisa beralih ke PKNU," pungkasnya. (okz)

We got into Monterey late last night.
Gus slept in the car and only wanted to play the late (or early) hours away.
Oliver isn't only his new friend, Gus seems to be idolizing him.

This may be the best summer our dogs have had yet. They LOVE it here in Austin. Matt and I are home all day, they get to play ball when ever they whine-- in their fully fenced-in yard no less, there are tons of unsuspecting birds & squirrels to chase down AND they just got two comfy pillows to sleep on. I snapped some pictures of Matt playing ball with them today. Tella loves the long drivers, where Gus is more prone to the bouncers/jumpers.

Which by the way, did I mention – was delicious. Thank you again for that.” A muted growl vibrated from Gus’ throat. “Relax,” Shawn soothed as he usually did. “I’m almost there. Then, we’ll tell Jules which one of these girls she gets to cuff with the new extra small handcuffs Lassie’s been toting around in his back pockets like a stripper. Jules will be overly grateful and reward me in possible semi-naked, and oh fingers crossed, completely naked ways. It’s a win-win situation Gus, think about it. I get to have sex with Jules and you get to stall my dad – you know keep him away from the house for a good two hours while I convince Juliet how hot it’ll be to do in my dad’s shower just to piss him off. I don’t see how you aren’t on board with the whole plan yet. It’s practically got Oscar gold oozing from its delicate pores.”

Quando voltava para o trabalho, pensava no muito que aprendi com ele e com cada uma das pessoas que estiveram ou estão em minha vida. O moço me faz rir e isso já é bastante, mas não fica nisso. Posso passar uma noite inteira conversando com ele, do assunto mais sério ao mais bobo. As coisa fluem, não precisam ser forçadas. Leveza.

Ao ler pedaços de meu antigo blog, no mesmo período do ano passado, percebi o quanto fiquei perdida sem ele. O quanto aprendi pouco, quase nada, com aquele que parecia ser tão bem formado. No fim, era apenas mais um papagaio, que repete incessantemente as poucas informações que conseguiu decorar.

We had to take their Vet records down and prove they are vaccinated, pay $5 each, and now they have little tags from the city. Poor pups. They have more bling than a southern rapper now: Name tag w/ phone#, Rabies Vac Tag, City of Austin Tag. Sheesh.

Someone really save me, I am stuck among hairless ugly cats , ugly reptiles , and now hairless ugly dogs. Where is my life going?

The 20th Annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest held at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma chose a Florida dog named Gus, a Chinese Crested, for the honourable title of Ugliest Dog for the Year 2008.

Though the poor pooch is suffering from skin cancer but his looks swept away the hearts of the judges and won him two trophies and a fat cheque of $1,600. The main reasons that held him high on the pedestal were his enchanting looks-

-Hairless

- Has 3 legs; got one amputated because of skin tumor.

- Is one eyed; he lost his one eye to a tom cat in cat-dog fight.

In a way a lot of credit goes to people, who actually pet these animals rather than abandoning them. The mother and daughter owners Jeanenne and Janey Teed of Gus were obviously thrilled, and plan to put the money in radiation treatment for their poochy pooch. Very thoughtful indeed. I don’t have guts to pet such animals but I can definitely give acclamations to these people through my blog. Ha!
