Hey Everyone,

Just a quick one really, I'm shooting a Music Video in London for The Art Of Falling on October 18th and 19th. Some of you may remember me talking about it a while ago, yes we've finally got it sorted out! We need extras and I thought rather then get a bunch of randoms, why not get all my wonderful friends involved...

This is a low budget video, everyone involved from the Producer and Director to the Make Up Artists and Runners are doing this for free, which is an amazing thing so unfortunately there will be no money involved for this project as I'm pretty much funding it myself. For this reason we've said that if don't live in London, or at least close (Brighton, Guildford etc) then we really can't ask you to make the trip because we'd feel awful not being able to pay you. I know some of you from pretty far away wanted to make the trip but my Director has said he'd prefer if you didn't. Even though I really appreciate your effort I really do.

So if you are interested people, please email me back at 'iwannabeingregsvideo@me.com' with a little photo of yourself and let me know (the photo isn't to see if you're hot or not it's because we need a good mixture of people in the video). You must be available on the 18th and 19th October (if you can only make one of those days, please make this very clear in your email, availability is very important) and you must be serious when you email me, because it's such a tight running of the shoot, I'm really sorry but we have no time for time-wasters. I'd love to see lots of you there though.

Speak to you all very soon and I look forward to your replies.

Today started off catastrophically. We came to the shock realisation that there is actually nothing (unique) to do in Canberra... The four of us bounced around ideas, went and picked up Danny's sister-in-law's car from the Tyre shop, then returned and bounced some more ideas around until we finally agreed to go for a little bit of a scenic tour around the mountainous ranges of the ACT. It was actually one of the most relaxing and peaceful drives I have ever experienced. The clean mountain air was amazing!

Danny drove us in his excellently preserved 1964 Holden Special Station Wagon through the towns of Duffy, Cotter, up through to Corin and back through Gordon and back home to Bruce. It was sad, yet good at the same time, to appreciate the extent of the Canberra bush fires that struck in 2003 leaving a number of people dead, livestock lost and property ruined. A number of beautiful scenic shots were taken along the way. We got up to a recreation park in Corin where the longest Bobsled track in the Southern Hemisphere is located, only to find it closed due to rain the previous day :( But the funny thing is, it was there that we got up and close to a family of wild kangaroos which is probably more rare than bobsledding.

We're now back home and the guys are outside cleaning the BBQ... a few of Shawna and Danny's friends have been invited over for a nice little get together. Not sure what the plan is afterward, but there is talk of Go-Karting or perhaps real Bowling (not the Wii kind!).

Today, Canberra really proved itself to be a city of bush.

Zoe took the news of Sirius’s departure better than I expected. I thought we might have to kee

Zoe took the news of Sirius's departure better than I expected. I thought we might have to keep her home today if she was upset this morning but she wasn't. She noticed almost immediately that he didn't greet her when she came home. I told her that he went back to the shelter, that he liked his "vacation" with us but that he missed his doggie friends at the shelter too much. She cried of course. She thought that Sirius ran away because "I'm not a good girl."

I said, "No that's not true. You're a very, very good girl. But Sirius just wasn't as happy here as he was at the shelter. That's why he wanted to run away. He was trying to find the shelter. He went home to the shelter and he's not coming back."

She'd say, "But he was part of our family."

I'd say, "He didn't understand that. He thought his doggie friends were his family. He took his Squeaky Sheepie that you picked out for him so he could remember you because he liked you so much."

Zoe'd say, "Then why did he go away?"

I said, "He needs to be where he can be happiest. And he was happier at the shelter where there were a lot of people to take him on walks and other doggie friends to smell and talk to."

I didn't want to say that he would find another family or anything. She said she was sad and I said I was sad too. I said it was okay to be sad and she could be as sad as she wanted for as long as she needed to get all her sad out.

In a mark of true friendship, Beta came by yesterday afternoon with Nina and they not only hung out with Holden & me both before & after Hawk gathered Sirius up in the car but Nina watched Holden while I had The Talk with Zoe and then both of them went in to talk to her & check on her when I gave her some "alone time." So shout-out to Beta & Nina.

Hawk said the transition at the shelter went smoothly. They didn't charge us an intake fee, which was decent of them. Apparently they were impressed with the level of vet care we'd given him (of course we'd intended to keep him) and with the sheet of information I typed up (saying he needs a fenced yard, is good with kids over 5, that he's had all his shots and we were treating him for the worms & bordatella and that he'd already had heartworm meds & Frontline for October). So knowing those things and returning him as a healthier dog than he was when we got him should up his chances of getting him adopted by another family. I'm hopeful for him.

So anyway...

I had laid some groundwork earlier in the day, telling Zoe that Iron Man would be on DVD and we would go & get a copy. So after she was settling down about Sirius, Beta talked to her about Iron Man. Then Zoe was keen to go out & get the DVD. We went to Hoss's for dinner & got the DVD & some other stuff at Target. When we got home, it was after bedtime, much less bathtime. Since Zoe had had a sad afternoon, I told her that she could watch some TV in our bed after bathtime. Well she decided to skip the bath but she got her Halloween jammies on & gathered up her Knuffle Bunny and decided at 8:45 it was time for Iron Man. Well I thought she'd be out right away. She willed herself awake to watch Iron Man. I missed most of the beginning, giving Holden his bath, etc. but I stayed in bed with her b/c I didn't know the content. There were some parts where I had her cover her eyes but overall it was no more violent than other Marvel superhero movies (we don't watch the DC ones b/c they are too much; but I already told Hawk I want Dark Knight for my birthday and he's just going to have to suffer from the moment it comes out until my birthday to watch it at home).

So she was up way too late but she got up & went to school no problem.

Holden doesn't miss Sirius one iota. He did have his nightmares last night but Hawk said he wasn't as bad as he had been. We'll see if it's even better tonight. I even said yesterday, "Do you like the puppy?" Right away: "No." But he's seen Minerva many times in the last 20 hours and he's very "Kitty! Kitty!" So maybe we should have gotten a cat. But my thought is that the goddess brought Sirius to our home so we could help him with his sickness and get that information to the shelter that increased his adoptability for the perfect family for him.

Anyway, back to Holden...

He & I went to Wal-Mart today for a few things, mostly groceries. We walked through the Halloween area & picked up a few small things (glow sticks, some "spooky fabric" etc.) and they have a cool giant moving spider. He absolutely loved it. But I don't think Hawk will go for it. Spiders are to Hawk what snakes are to me (but to a lesser degree). When I told him that I told S that he should display his handmade Halloween ginormous spider upside down from the ceiling in the game room after Halloween, Hawk called me the b word (in jest). Which he never does (to my face). I call him the p word. It keeps our marriage healthy.

BTW: This is S's spider (and his adorable children). The little girl in the pic just turned 5 and the boy is 3. Just so's you know how big this spider is:

When S gets his place set up, I will get some good pics. My nighttime pics last year didn't turn out well enough to show off his work. Their place is locally famous for Halloween decor. No blow-up pumpkins for S. It's a realistic graveyard, arches, fog, etc. Full of awesome.

British rider Sara Phillips has been living in Portland with her husband for a few years now, I was wondering how she was after chatting to another friend I know living in Portland, much to my surprise I saw her on the new Holden site! (found via my subscription to Nollie.tv)

She's friends with Mikey and part of the crew over there so it's not a surprise to see her face there, what caught my attention was the way they have the items show on the site, it's all short films, like the new Adidas site that Tim and Johno are making right now (I'll let you know once it's live) The films show Sara and others wearing the holden collection in various places in town (Portland I assume)

It's a nice catalogue, not 100% my cup of tea with the clothing, but then I have absolutely no idea what girls want to wear, but some nice pieces and some environmentally friendly stuff too, good one Holden, and great to see Sara too! : )

Their Blog is now on my subscription list too.

Right, it’s about time I filled you guys in on what’s going on with my ‘Album

Right, it's about time I filled you guys in on what's going on with my 'Album'...

Last year as most of you know, I ventured over to New York and recorded what is known as 'Run, Don't Walk'. A lot of you bought it and for that I thank you more than you can understand. Then, this summer I returned to New York and recorded another 4 songs, none of you have heard these recordings yet, or at least a bloody hope not.

What I plan to do is release a record called 'A Word In Edgeways' before the year is up hopefully. It will be made up of the 4 new songs I just talked about, the 4 songs from 'Run, Don't Walk' and maybe one other song. It is likely Flora will be making an appearance with her Cello on a couple of the older tracks as well as on one of the new ones. The reason this is happening in this way is a simple matter of promotion, press and publicity. No labels, Magazines, Papers, Radio stations, Booking Agents etc are interested in a 4-track EP. They want more, so more is what they're getting. It also gives me a chance to give you guys a fresh dose of love.

So it's important to know that if you already bought 'Run, Don't Walk', you may not want to go ahead and buy the whole album when it's released because you will already have 4 of the tracks and I wouldn't want you to waste your cash. But it's worth reminding you that there is a possibility of Cello on Alright Sir and The Art Of Falling, watch that space.

What I don't want is for you guys to think that this is my main 'Debut Album' release into the world. That will come in time, hopefully not too much time and hopefully with a label behind me. That way it will sound awesome and will be available in all shapes and sizes rather than just on iTunes like last time.

HOWEVER, do not fear, 'A Word In Edgeways' shall be printed and pressed just like a proper record, and will be on sale in as many ways as I can afford (hard copy @ Live Gigs, downloads on iTunes, Amazon, Napster etc).

What I need you guys to realise is that I'm still paying for all this shit myself and do not have 1000's of pounds/dollars to put it in the shops and make it available worldwide. This simply is not possible on the small wage I get from my job. I have NO other financial help at this time. That is where a label comes in, helped by you lovely people spreading the word and making them realise they should invest in me ;)

So, hopefully you guys feel a bit more with it now, I wanted you all to know what's going on. I also hope you guys added yourselves to my mailing list and picked up your free download. If not, head over to Myspace and sort it out!

Speak soon and take care, feel free to comment. Greg x

This weekend I was in France visiting my girlfriend where she's temporarily living. Down the road from where she's staying is this park with a whole load of various animals including Kangaroos, Donkeys and Flamingos, an awesome place. Or so you might think.

When we entered the park we walked past a pit-like, fenced area that obviously contained a large animal. We'd been told there was a bear in the park before we went so we assumed this was the place it was kept. I already wasn't looking forward to seeing it as I was scared of how upsetting it would be (I don't believe that animals such as bears, tigers, lions etc should be kept in captivity at all) but something was pulling me towards it. When I peered over the wall and saw what was inside I started to fill up, a moment later I had to cry a little. It truly was a horrific sight. As you can see from the pictures this bear was in such bad shape; it's fur was all discoloured and dirty, it was going blind in it's left eye and somehow it had this heart-wrenching look on its face that just destroyed anyone who saw it.

I watched it for a while, making it worse for myself really, but it was something you really had to see and appreciate. This was an amazing creature that should be wild and free, roaming the forests with other animals of its kind. Not banged up on it's own in some cage in France. Shame on whoever did this to that poor bear, shame on them. If you want to see this bear, it's in a city called Tours, France.

Sorry about the random, non-music related post, I just wanted to share this with you.

So I had an interesting evening. And please pardon whatever errors or bizarreness follows b/c I

So I had an interesting evening. And please pardon whatever errors or bizarreness follows b/c I'm listening to iTunes & every now & then, I'll pop in a line that jumps out when I hit a pause.

First of all, I found out that my BFF Beta is a Republican. Nina outted her b/c she took a quiz that showed she has Democrat views. So I said, "You should be an Independent like me." But she wanted to vote in primaries.

My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns hun.

In more interesting news, Beta went bra shopping with Nina and Nina's friend. There's a new lingerie place at the LVM and Beta took them down. The friend was embarrassed to get measured (it's just boobs but when you're, like, 13 it's all embarrassing) but Nina & Beta got measured. Beta wouldn't buy a bra in her size b/c... well... her cups are bigger than mine.

So I felt her up.

When I grow up, I wanna be famous, I wanna be a star, I wanna be in movies. When I grow up, I wanna see the world, drive nice cars, I wanna have boobies.

Well I didn't give her a proper feel b/c she was wearing a minimizer. She said with everything in the bra where it belonged, her shirt was even shorter on the hem in front. Well yeah! When they hold the shirt out, it hides the belly! So I told Beta she needs to get the bra so I can feel her up properly & we'll go out & have fun & embarrass ourselves. She said it's a deal.

Then Nina brought up the concept of the "muffin top" in relation to bras. Never though of it that way but year, an ill-fitting cup can give you muffin top boobs. So my theory that most muffin tops are caused by ill-fitting pants might be valid.

Oh and Beta knew I would blog this. I'm sure she'll have a comment or two.

Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me, callin' me, all the time like blondie

Then after I got to second base with Beta, I took Zoe to a birthday party for a boy in her class. It was at the BK in West Bumblefuck. I had a lovely set of conversations with three other moms, one of whom knew me from my teen years from... wait for it... church. Her brother was in my class. We had a conversation and bizarre and somewhat inappropriate things the librarian says (like "I'm going to spank the monkey" -- supposedly in reference to a monkey that fell of her computer). I told the woman that I'd take it all with a grain of salt but if more stories come home, maybe bring it up to the kids' teacher and say if she knows if the stories are accurate.

My whole existence is flawed; you get me closer to God.

The mom hosting the party sat down with the other mom in attendance and me as we ate and we were talking about birthday cakes. She mentioned how once she made a Barbie dress cake -- like a big mound of cake and you stick the Barbie down in it like it's her dress. She said her daughter's party was in the summer and the dress/cake started to wilt and then outright melt. And then I -- the same person who said at a kid's party that Gerber's raspberry fruit snacks for toddlers look like nipples -- said, "Oh so it was Stripper Barbie?"

And my brain went "Ack!"

But then the other moms laughed. And laughed some more. And I went "Whew! I has found some peeps!" And the host mom said, "Yes. Exactly like Stripper Barbie!"

And then later when the librarian conversation happened, we were discussing other words she could have used besides "spanked." I said, "Paddled." T's mom said, "Swatted?" And my church friend said, "A licking?" And I said, "Well 'licking the monkey' isn't much better."

And there was more laughter.

So yes, I brought all my inappropriateness to a 6 year old's party while I met new people and it was fine.

Zephyr in the sky at night I wonder: do my tears of mourning sink beneath the sun?

Minerva just jumped up on the back of the chair. She's come out of complete hiding and is fully embracing the high windowsills. However, as the reincarnation of Jake, she's on her Constant Vigilance Campaign. She was up in our bed last night and Sirius has decided that he'd like to sleep in Zoe's room. Once his cough is gone, he won't even wake her up. You could light firecrackers in Zoe's nose once she's out. Holden sleeps very lightly and also likes it dark (Zoe likes her "flower" lit).

I wanna shine on in the hearts of men. I wanna mean it from the back of my broken hand.

Sirius is doing well. When the kids run carts & such around in the kitchen (see video), he tries to bite the wheels. Holden hates that. He's kind of like, "But this is my thing! I'm an international star!" Sirius? He cares not.

If everything you do has got a hold on me, then everything I do has got a hole in it.

I listened to the debate of course. I was folding laundry, putting stuff away & cleaning the master bath. Yeah, my Friday nights are everything I've built them up to be. I didn't have a "drink of the night" though nor did I make cupcakes today. Hawk says, "Why do you make cupcakes when [Nina's] here?" I said, "Because I can."

This club will hopefully be closed in three weeks. That would be cool with me. Well I’m still imagining a dark lit place or your place or my place.

Back to the debate.

I don't want to imagine who I'd like to go to a ballgame with. I don't care under what circumstances John McCain met his wife. I don't care if Barack Obama experimented with drugs as a kid. I want to know about their stances on poverty, the economy, taxation, education, equal pay, foreign policy, energy etc. This debate clarified some things but didn't sway me from my chosen candidate. There was a fair amount of straight talk, considering the rhetoric and pet phrases bandied about as well. That's how you get my vote. Not by saying what soldier's mother gave you a bracelet or telling my your VP's life story like my vote is about empathy or personality but by telling me what you & your running mate intend to do for the betterment of my country and my life.

I been dope, suspenseful with a pencil ever since Prince turned himself into a symbol.

Well I think that's it for my ginormous Friday night entry.

Word to your mother.

Me best mate Darren got rid of his old HQ and VK to make way for this! His new VN Calais (I think its a VN....).

We went out last night for a bit of a photo shoot and found ourselves a nice run down looking spot to take some shots. I did plan to do HDR but they aren't looking the way I planned. This is not an HDR but is a 5 image stitch. I think this will look nice printed up nice and big for the Doc's room!

I am certainly no car buff, and get lost the moment you get more technical than how many cylinders the car has but I love this car! Darren is a mechanic apprentice so he knows a shit tonne more than me! I'll stick to me camera and computer knowledge!

Cheers

So the blog thing I was using before was a little lame as it was computer based and I could only blog from my laptop, sometimes I'm away from my laptop and want to post, so I changed.

Anyway, there's been a lot of things going on recently, a lot of which has been very confusing which is why I've tried not to post much lately until I know what's going on myself. As most of you know I have been taking some time off recently to write some more material and prepare myself for some more intense gigging. That's exactly what I've been doing. I've been on holiday (pic is me in Venice) and I've been hiding away writing. Still I've had to work but that doesn't count. All is well so far...

I'm also awaiting the tracks that I recorded in New York in June, they're currently being mixed and mastered and will be ready to go soon. I have some stuff to explain about my debut album 'A Word In Edgeways' that I hope to release this year, but I will explain that later when it's more clear to me also.

Some of you also may have noticed that my YouTube account has been suspended, don't ask me why as I don't know. I think someone may have hacked my account. I have contacted YouTube and I'm waiting for a reply. It's worrying as all the comments everyone left me were so amazing I really don't want to lose them, I also worked pretty hard to get nearly 3000 subscribers so I could do without losing them too. Fingers crossed anyway.

I must dash, I've got to work! Greg x
