E non è un’offesa, bada bene.

Saremo dei nomadi perché ci sono quelle scoperte allucinanti, vedi connessioni wireless, blackberry evolutissimi coffee inclusive e interfacce superintelligenti che ci permetteranno –lo stanno già facendo- di muoverci dovunque, liberamente, sempre connessi.

Wi-nomads e di Techno-bedouins, allora. Tutti insieme virtualmente. Lo aveva già detto Mc Luhan negli anni ’70 (strano, ha detto praticamente tutto quello che di media-socio-futuristico c'era da immaginare!!!) e lo hanno ripetuto nel ’95 Tsugio Makimoto e David Manners, autori del famosissimo Digital Nomad.

Lo ribadisce con forza  la testata inglese “The Economist”: a circa 10mila anni dalla trasformazione dei cacciatori-raccoglitori in agricoltori, si perderà la sedentarietà, si tornerà a non identificare in un solo punto gli elementi basilari per la sussistenza.
    
Proprio come i beduini, scrive Andreas Kluth sul settimanale britannico, non portano l'acqua con sé ma si spostano da un luogo all'altro dove sanno di poterla trovare, così i nomadi di oggi non portano con sé carta per scrivere e a volte neanche il computer. Se serve una tastiera e una stampante la troveranno con facilità, e non importa se ci si sposti per un lungo viaggio o nell'ambito del quartiere: l'importante è che ovunque ci sia la possibilità di connettersi alla rete.
    

Il nomadismo della rete cambia tutti i luoghi di incontro, le piazze sociali. Non c’è praticamente differenza fra l’essere connessi o il parlare reale.
L’inconveniente/ nuova realtà è un No sense of place, la perdita del senso della spazialità. Che se per molti costituisce un problema per altri non lo è per niente. Come per i protagonisti di Life nomadic , 2 ragazzi che hanno venduto tutto per seguire un istinto di nomadismo always connected. Girano il mondo e cercano connessioni wireless per far sapere al mondo come butta da un capo all’altro della terra. Mica male.

Pure noi, nel nostro piccolo, noi che amiamo ancora andare al mare e toccare l’acqua e fare castelli di sabbia con i nostri figli, vediamo questo cambiamento. Lo vediamo un po’ più velato, meno estremo, più utile e meno infelice. Magari più mail (noooooo!!) ma meno stress.

L’importante è essere pronti. Lavoriamo nel campo dell’information technology, un pro che si trasforma facilmente in contro, vista la velocità oltre il muro del suono del cambiamento.  Non resta che armarsi e partire, con gli strumenti a disposizione, cercando nuove possibili scenari, nuove tecnologie da far nostre e proporre alla nostra clientela.

"Nyhedsavisen will be a revolution!"

Such wrote editor-in-chief David Trads courageously on his blog in the Summer of 2006, when announcing the three objectives of Nyhedsavisen, among which he aimed at publishing award-winning articles. In the autumn of 2006, the Danish "newspaper war" broke loose with the market launch of dato (Berlingske Officin), 24timer (JP/Politikens Hus) and Nyhedsavisen (investors). The concept that shook the entire media industry was thought out by the entrepreneurs behind Nyhedsavisen - and was quite simply "free": Produce quality content and distribute it to nation-wide households. For Free.

Today, dato has closed down, 24timer is running with a considerable loss, and up until the recent round of layoffs Nyhedsavisen - now without David Trads - had a daily loss of DKK 1 million. Despite their ongoing losses, Nyhedsavisen can flaunt an impressive position as the country's newspaper with the most readers. Whether their readership is established as a consequence of fine editiorial skills or thanks to the vast money tank supporting the paper's yet inadequate business model is debatable. I would point to the last option.

The 'Nyhedsavisen concept' has failed massively. Journalistically, the newspaper is poorly regarded in the industry. Societally, Nyhedsavisen never became a clear voice as the scope of content decreased along with the size of staff. Technologically, developments never corresponded to the ambitions and the news media is still stuck with a disappointing website (far from living up to the goal of being the most read online news service). Financially, the newspaper is only alive because of the blind optimism being injected by the owners.

Regretfully, the private equity fund behind Nyhedsavisen has left indelible traces in Danish media - well illustrated by today's speculations concerning the next editor-in-chief of the giant Jyllands-Posten: "The classical editor-in-chief we have seen so far... will be replaced by some more business-oriented types, concurrently with the industry changing from the classical newspaper production to distinct media conglomerates", says Poul Madsen, editor-in-chief from Ekstra Bladet.

I'm not arguing against the fundamental competitive terms of modern society - as we are all surrounded and governed by the common rules of capitalism. I'm mourning for the real victim in this case: Journalism.

If the person at the end of the newsroom table is a capitalist - allowed to overrule the journalist - then we only have to look at the case of Rupert Murdoch and his take on objectivity to realize the appaling result.

KNOWING
Knowledge is indeed power, as Foucault pointed out, and without this personal library to draw from, the creator is given a smaller room to manoeuvre within. Hence, the possibility of recognizing the "big idea" is minimized. The act of gaining new knowledge also trains the ability to see things from new angles and independently go against established codes of practice.

COMBINING
Ideas are new combinations of old elements. Pareto distinguished between the speculator, constantly pre-occupied withe the possibilities of new combinations, and the rentier, routine, steady-going and unimaginative. What essentially distinguishes these two "types" - the creative and non-creative - from each other is the ability to link new relationships from existing conditions.

TESTING
A new combination is not necessarily a viable idea. The "speculator" needs to digest the idea and examine it from all possible angles. Is it doable? Is it ethically justifiable? Is it interesting enough? Has it been done before? Will it have the sufficient impact? Depending on the nature of the idea, this testing phase may take from a few reflective seconds up to months of re-modelling.

RELEASING
For the first time in the process the idea must be run by other individuals in actual settings. Now, the idea goes from being an internal play with scenarios to an external formulation of concepts and the "ideas man" is finally running a social risk in being the originator of the thought. An exhaustive advocacy is required: The idea either prevails through dialogue into realization or it joins the bleak future of the "idea bank".

 Aluminium is remarkable for its ability to resist corrosion and light weight. Actually, aluminium is an unusual materials used in resort building, but the innovation of the technology and the long lasting causing new viewing of this materials. The long lasting of this material durability’s has relatively high embodied energy, so the environment impacts of the materials become lower.     Alusion are materials that have variety of range in models, pores, and thickness. Alusion Stabilized Aluminum Foam and its various versions are interior finish panels. They are available in two thicknesses – 1/2 inch and 1 inch – and in two densities – Small Cell 15% and Large Cell 10%. The higher the density the smaller the cells and the heavier and less delicate the materials. Here are basic kind of allusion that provided in the market :

Nature surface is product by marrying traditional skills with modern technical expertise and precision. 1. DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface)

Lighting control systems in the simplest ways, such as switch and dim, applied in our everyday lighting system with analogue controller 1V-10V signals. In this system, the control circuit must be planned carefully, because its position cannot be changed. The arrangement and grouping of the luminaries is determined by the position of the light controller, thus they cannot be addressed individually. It is not difficult to control and maintain lighting system in a small size area, but when it comes to a large and complex system, office building for example, it is not easy. Today’s technology develops this simple system with digital system, known as DALI. DALI system is basically digital control protocol (integrated chip) that enables luminaires to be controlled individually, and provide user friendly light management, which make controlling complex lighting system easier.

DALI main feature is, it enables individual control of fittings, so it is possible to check and maintain directly to the components of the fittings. Comparing with 1V-10V analogue control system, DALI is useful for scene selection and getting feedback regarding failure of light sources because it is equipped with bidirectional system. Bidirectional information flow makes it possible to get information about whether the light is switched on or off, the light intensity, and the ballast condition. DALI system can control several different groups of light fixtures through only one pair of control cable. This system does not necessarily need switch panel, the light can be switched off only with direct commands from the DALI system. The DALI system provides easy arrangement of the lighting fixtures and adding new components without distraction from wiring or hardware adjustments, because it only needs changes in the programming of the system.

DALI system has a standard maximum number of devices that can be controlled from one protocol, which is 64 devices (lighting fixture), also it is limited to maximum 250 mA total supply current. It should not excess this limit, because it can cause system failure.

Application

ERCO Light company develop and apply DALI control technology as integrated system, that compatible for its lighting luminaires to manage and create lighting scene. ERCO create a control panel that is called Light Server. The Light Server is a DALI controller which able to store system and scene data and provide the control functions. This control panel has compact design, flexible for its mounting and it can be connected directly to a PC through USB interface.

All the light software stores inside the Light Server, this software is the one that enables all the lighting features and configurations. The software, called Light Studio, consists of features to manage and arrange lighting scene, organize the physical light structure, and time frame for lighting scene. This technology makes it easier to solve complex configuration of lighting, and create scenographic lighting without complicated wiring and fixed control system. One of the application of DALI system in a building, shown through the design of Restaurant Guillaume at Bennelong, Sydney Opera House.

The lighting system is used to create different scene of light based on the condition of outdoor lighting (daylight). Using DALI, each luminaires are addressed individually, illuminance is adjustable with just a control from a laptop, thanks to the DALI system and the software even though the high distance between the light fixtures and tables.

2. AXIS WALKLIGHT

Axis walklight is an innovative lighting system from ERCO that applies advanced LED light source, to create glare free directional lighting system. It is basically used for lighting in stairways, or pathways that also provides attractive appearance for space design. The source of this lighting fixture is LED module, concealed inside a rectangular, lens-like cover glass. This system is maintenance free, because LED is highly efficient and has a long service life. The LED module with RGB (red, green, blue) technology makes it possible to change light colors dynamically and continuously. The lighting control is carried out individually or as a group through a separate control gear. It is known as Varychrome Walklight. Varychrome Walklight uses LED with RGB combine with DALI system, in providing dynamic and continuous changes of color. Each DALI compatible luminaire is pre-programmed with factory-set code of their DALI control gear. It allows the luminaires to be automatically recognized and clearly displayed by the Light Server and Light Studio software. Then, through the software, color scene is designed and modified. It is user friendly, easy installation, and digitally controlled lighting system.

Application

This lighting is applied in asymmetric light distribution for stairways and landings. The light to illuminate steps or paths is produced using the asymmetrical reflector-lens system. In this system, the lamp is concealed, irrespective of the observer's position. The main concern for light in stairways is safety regarding each step edge. A Softec lens acting as safety glass projects the light all the way to the edge of the step and therefore provides an excellent illumination of the edges of steps or path.
The LED module itself provides excellent light distribution to illuminate wide steps. Coverage and illuminance of the area to be lit depends on the mounting height.

3. TFL WALLWASHER

The idea of wallwasher light is producing a whole ambient of light in a space and uniform wall illumination. TFL wallwasher is one of several types of wallwasher lighting fixtures, specially designed with a reflector that can provide changes of color light in a room, called TFL Varychrome wallwasher. This product is also equipped with DALI control system, which is placed inside the luminaire, to programme the color changes in TFL wallwasher individually.

Features

TFL wallwasher’s feature is each fluorescent lamp inside it can be controlled individually in its color mixing. It uses special diffuser to make sure that the color is mixed properly. Another feature is, each luminaire has removable end panels, so it can be mounted continuously without gaps to produce uniform and continuous light. The luminaries can be attached and arranged back to back directly.

The housing is made of sheet metal powder-coated white.

The wallwasher reflector is satin finish aluminium silver anodized.

The varychrome wallwasher is fitted with three colored 28W, T16 fluorescent lamps.

The requirement position for the lighting to make uniform wallwashing is it should be placed in intersection of 20° from the wall (a) with the ceiling.

Application

TFL wallwasher is best applied in places that require uniformity in illuminance, such as exhibitions (museums), sales areas, promotional areas, and commercial areas (shops). Since, the light provides strong and colorful illumination that can present products attractively.

Conclusion:

The development of lighting technology proves that it makes the installation easier, also it can influence the experience of space. Adding of colors, changes in colors and intensity of light will affect the space directly. The most distinct technology is lighting controller that enables all the adjustments and control run digitally. Advance technology in lighting provides choices and possibilities for interior designer and architect to create sophisticated lighting scene. Light indeed, is a main element in interior and architecture design.
