Pausa. Tirando Sai, e outras assim curtas que pedem muito pouco, Pausa é a didascália mais vulgar, mais impessoal e mais vazia (cheia de possibilidade, para um actor) da escrita teatral do nosso tempo. Às vezes, é um fio de prumo num poço.

Celebramos o primeiro aniversário do lançamento em Dvd de Je Vous Salue, Marie, de Godard, e tencionamos falar disso. Entretanto, uma amiga actriz de palco pôs-se a interrogar pela razão de ser do seu trabalho, e é talvez esse mesmo o osso mais sensível do seu ofício. A fractura exposta do seu ofício. «Aceito a pausa, mas não vou tolerar mais do que isso», foi uma resposta possível. «Só posso mostrar-te alguns colegas na pausa deles. Estão como aquele parceiro que soube dessa vontade de parar e não te disse nada. Abraçou-te e andou. Porque sabe que nada mais passa e já lá esteve». Em palco ou fora dele, a pausa é trabalho.

Senza dimenticare le spumeggianti Julie Walters e Christine Baransky.
Colonna sonora composta dalle più famose canzoni degli Abba, famosissimo gruppo musicale svedese in voga negli anni ’70. La band è stata la rappresentante musicale della Scandinavia più blasonata e di maggior successo e si stima che abbia venduto oltre 370 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo, rendendola una dei gruppi più popolari nella storia della musica contemporanea. Gli ABBA sono considerati tra i più celebri esponenti della musica pop internazionale, conseguendo regolarmente all'uscita di quasi ogni nuovo album o singolo un posto nella top ten in Regno Unito, Scandinavia e Australia. Nella loro Svezia si stima inoltre che soltanto la casa automobilistica della Volvo abbia ottenuto dei profitti maggiori. gruppo si costituì circa nel 1970 ed era costituito di quattro membri: Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog e Anni-Frid Lyngstad (meglio conosciuta come "Frida"). Quattro anni dopo erano già all'apice della loro carriera musicale dopo aver vinto l'edizione dell'Eurofestival nel 1974 con il brano Waterloo. Da allora inanellarono un successo dietro l'altro fino alla loro separazione avvenuta nel 1982. Tra i loro più grandi conseguimenti fu la legittimazione dell'industria musicale scandinava come fonte di successo internazionale, spianando la via a gruppi svedesi come Ace of Base, Roxette, The Cardigans, Europe e più recentemente Alcazar.
‘Mamma Mia!’ segue i canoni del più tipico stile di musical cinematografico. Senza regalare nulla di nuovo ma anche senza nulla togliere al genere e senza mancare o peccare in qualche modo.
La regia di Phyllida Llloyd è lineare, pulita e meritevole di attenzione, così come la scelta delle azzeccatissime location greche che aiutano la scenografia a regalare la giusta miscela di colori ed emozioni.
Meryl Streep, che con il passare degli anni sembra ringiovanire piuttosto che invecchiare, ha presentato il film a Roma sabato 29 settembre. Grandi applausi da parte del pubblico di giornalisti presenti in conferenza stampa, che hanno voluto così tributare la propria ammirazione ad un’icona del cinema mondiale.

Lei che è ancora così splendida ma che soprattutto è sempre più brava nel suo lavoro, ci svela qual è il suo antidoto contro lo scorrere del tempo?

Sono una donna molto fortunata perché ho una splendida famiglia accanto, questo è il mio segreto. Sono felice di aver avuto una carriera tanto soddisfacente ma non credete, anche io ho qualche acciacco a fine giornata esattamente come ce l'hanno tante altre donne della mia età.

Giunta a questo punto che bilancio fa della sua carriera e della sua vita?

Col passare del tempo le donne si rendono conto di essere molto diverse da com'erano quando erano giovani. Arrivati a quest'età diveniamo più consapevoli di noi stesse, abbiamo bisogno di più amore e di dare di più, il bello è anche che vogliamo molto di più. Credo sia questo anche il senso del film...

Mamma Mia! è sì un film musicale ma soprattutto è un film sulle donne più che sugli uomini, è un po' una rivincita sul maschilismo sottinteso di Hollywood?

E' vero, molti film oggi vengono concepiti esclusivamente per gli uomini, se le donne ci sono meglio altrimenti non importa. In percentuale sono molti di più i film 'maschili' che quelli 'femminili'...Questo film probabilmente i maschietti non saranno troppo ansiosi di andarlo a vedere ma come si dice...confido nelle mogli e nelle fidanzate. Anche per questo forse gli Studios non si aspettavano tanto successo al box office, ma per fortuna è andata alla grande!

In tutto il mondo i critici e il pubblico la adorano letteralmente, ha collezionato ben due Oscar (quelli per Kramer contro Kramer e La scelta di Sophie, ndr) e ben dodici nomination. Ha mai sofferto della cosiddetta sindrome da prima della classe, quella di cui soffre chi non può mai dimostrare di essere un po' meno brava del solito?

Non pensate che io sia perfetta, ho molti difetti, e le mie figlie e mio marito puntualmente me li fanno notare. Credo che avere una famiglia rimetta tutto nella giusta prospettiva, anche sei una famosa attrice di Hollywood.

Che rapporto si instaura di solito tra Lei e i suoi colleghi sul set?

Sempre ottimo, mi piace creare un clima di serenità e di complicità. E' vero che quando lavoro con giovani attrici loro si sentono un po' in soggezione con me ma quando si rendono conto che anche io sono 'umana' e dimentico anch'io le battute ogni tanto allora si tranquillizzano. La recitazione deve essere una cosa naturale e spontanea, solo così si arriva al cuore del pubblico, non c'è altra via.

Mamma Mia! è un film allegro e divertente ma se vogliamo anche un film sul rimpianto, guardandosi indietro ha qualche rimpianto professionale?

Sono una donna che non vive di rimpianti ma che fa di tutto per tenersi occupata, forse è questo a salvarmi. Ringrazio il cielo di avere tante belle opportunità lavorative ma non mi soffermo mai a pensare alle occasioni mancate. Sono reduce dal Festival di San Sebastian dove ieri ho ricevuto un premio e per l'occasione mi è stato mostrato un filmato con le scene più belle dei miei film, pensate che alcuni neanche ricordavo di averli fatti. E' stato molto bello rivederli..

Da come la vediamo nel film e oggi qui possiamo dire che è in splendida forma, come si è preparata per scene così fisicamente impegnative?

Non sono molto in forma, sono una pigrona. E' che quando sono chiamata ad impegnarmi e devo per forza fare qualcosa cerco di farlo al meglio, e poi qui c'era la musica a darmi la grinta giusta, a infondermi energia e gioia ogni giorno, mi ha aiutata moltissimo.

Anni fa in una sua visita romana si lamentò che non c'erano molti ruoli a Hollywood per le donne dopo i 40. Ma dopo i 50 le cose vanno nettamente meglio, no?

Il mondo cambia, il cinema cambia, l'industria cinematografica cambia. Oggi ci sono più donne nel cinema, più sceneggiatrici, più produttrici, più registe e anche più attrici. L'unico campo in cui non ci sono molte donne è quello della critica cinematografica, almeno negli Usa, un campo che è sotto il dominio maschile e in cui le donne non sono debitamente apprezzate. Me ne dispiace molto.

Una settimana fa in città sono arrivati Robert De Niro e Al Pacino per presentare il loro nuovo film. Lei che li ha avuti entrambi come partner, ci può dire com'è lavorare con due mostri sacri come loro?

Sono state due esperienze diverse ma molto belle entrambi. Sono due miei grandi amici, li conosco da tanti anni. Con Al ho lavorato di recente nella miniserie tv Angels in America quindi è un'esperienza fresca e molto moderna, mentre con Robert ho lavorato a stretto contatto nel 1984, ai tempi di Innamorarsi, in un'epoca molto diversa da quella di oggi. Vi posso dire soltanto che è stato dannatamente machista! No scherzo, è semplicemente uno della vecchia scuola di Hollywood.

Lei ha tre figlie femmine, ha mai vissuto nella realtà la 'sindrome da distacco' che vive nel film?

Certo, l'ho vissuta il primo giorno di scuola di ognuno dei miei 4 figli, quando ho conosciuto la prima fidanzata di mio figlio, quando se ne sono andate di casa per studiare all'estero, quando si hanno figli si deve essere pronti alle separazioni perché prima o poi arrivano.

Quando sua figlia Mamie le ha detto che voleva diventare un'attrice che consigli le ha dato?

I miei figli sanno quali sono oggi i rischi del mestiere dell'attore. Hanno potuto imparare dai miei successi e dagli insuccessi di miei carissimi amici che non hanno avuto la mia stessa fortuna e oggi sono doppiatori o attori di teatro. E' un mestiere di luci ed ombre, i miei figli l'hanno capito, sono ragazzi concreti non sognatori come ero io. Per questo nessuno di loro ha mai capito come ho fatto io all'inizio ad essere così ottimista ed entusiasta.

Fra qualche giorno al Festival del Cinema di Roma verrà presentato in anteprima il backstage dello spettacolo teatrale messo in scena nell'estate del 2006 al Manhattan's Public Theater "Madre Coraggio e i suoi figli" di Bertolt Brecht (recitato dalla Streep al fianco di Kevin Kline ndr). Cosa ci può dire di quest'esperienza?

E' il backstage del processo creativo del mio personaggio teatrale, l'idea di farmi seguire da una telecamera durante la lavorazione è stata mia ma ci sono stati momenti molto difficili in cui poi ho cambiato idea, poi l'ho voluta di nuovo. Sono stata difficile, ma ora ne sono molto contenta. E' un'opera che rappresentava in quel momento la frustrazione degli americani e il loro forte atto d'accusa contro la guerra. La ninna nanna che il mio personaggio canta al figlio che tiene in braccio morto credo sia un'immagine eloquente, che unisce tutte le guerre del mondo e tutte le vittime del mondo. E' stato questo ad attrarmi verso questo complesso lavoro interpretativo, credo sia molto interessante poter vedere i retroscena di certi momenti.

“Hai sempre saputo come fare un'entrata!"

I have done it.  I too have been one of the millions world-wide who have paid good money to see Mamma Mia! The Movie. And what is worse (if there could be such a thing), I enjoyed it!  I even want to get the DVD for Christmas.  (You will doubtless be relieved to hear that I didn't sing along during the performance - even I have some standards.)

Results were reported today confirming Mamma Mia! The Movie as this summer's cinematic phenomenon.  The film cost £28 million to make, but has so far taken £245 million.  Britain has had the highest summer cinematic attendance (17.6 million) since 1972.

So why did I enjoy it?  What has caused the film's success?  Why, at the end of the screening that I attended, did everyone stand up in the auditorium and applaud? - a phenomenon that I have never ever witnessed in a cinema before.

It wasn't the fact that I have had Abba songs ringing in my head ever since.  That alone might have been enough to prevent me from going in the first place.  And it wasn't seeing and hearing the tone-deaf Pierce Brosnan prancing about singing that really inspired me - though the sadistic streak in me was curious to watch how the mighty 007 would cope with middle-aged blonde and a dated tune.

The settings and photography were breathtakingly beautiful.  The Mediterranean blue and the Greek Islands helped create the backdrop and atmosphere of wonder necessary for the story. The acting was, in the main, very compelling.  Meryl Streep convinced us of her confused vulnerability, as well as the fact that she really can sing.  And Christine Baranski and Julie Walters really did leave you feeling that they were the kind of women you would either want with you on a night out in town, or who you would want to avoid like the plague.  There left no room for ambiguity.

I didn't go to the cinema expecting a comedy, but I haven't laughed as much, so continuously, for a very long time.  I can't reveal the plot without giving too much away.  However, it involves a simple quest that has at least three possible resolutions.  It is the intertwining of these possible resolutions, together with the indecision and helplessness of Streep and the craziness of Baranski and Walters that create multiple possibilities for tension, resolution, and farce.

Although the laughter made a grown man cry, it wasn't just the laughter that brought moisture to my eyes.  It is a self-declared fairytale, and like all good fairytales has a happy ending.  But this tale moves because it goes deep.  The characters are real and likeable and not wooden figures. On the surface someone struggles to survive an economic crisis and manages to find some form of gold at the end.  But below the surface there is more for us all to identify with. Deep, unspoken, and unresolved tension in relationships is forced into the open, examined, and settled. The doors to self-imposed prisons are shattered and we dance and sing at the exuberant celebration of new-found freedom and life.

The film appeals because of its rich feel-good factor.  It may be a fairytale, but hey, a good fairytale never really harmed anyone.

Cuando era niño descubrí que, detrás de la tercera llamada o cuando las luces de una sala de cine se apagan para proyectar una película, se revelaba un misterio y ese instante se convertía en un santuario.

Los musicales en particular llenaron de magia mi despertar al mundo de la música y de la actuación. Desde entonces, cada vez que tengo oportunidad de disfrutar alguno, me doy cuenta de que tienen alma y que ésta no sólo pertenece a quien lo creó, sino, por igual, a quienes lo vivimos soñando con él.

Aunque para algunos este género sea meloso, aburrido y cursi, si alguien se atreve a dejarse enamorar por su historia y su música, el espíritu se fortalece porque el tiempo no los extravía, son eternos y aguardan impacientes que una nueva alma caiga en los influjos de su seducción.

Es difícil ser ajeno a la música de ABBA, este grupo sueco que dejó una profunda huella en los 70's y principios de los 80's. Sus letras sencillas, sus ritmos pegajosos, están de regreso provocando un acontecimiento en el espectáculo internacional con el estreno de una obra de teatro, primero y, ahora con la película Mamma Mia!.

El 6 de abril de 1999, se estrenó en Londres. Es la historia de una madre soltera, su hija y tres posibles papás que han sido invitados a una boda. Este argumento simple ha sido visto, aplaudido y elogiado por más de 30 millones de espectadores en todo el mundo y el soundtrack de la película lleva dos meses en el primer lugar de ventas.

Catherine Johnson, la escritora, nunca imaginó que nos estaba regalando una historia que nos abraza con sus sentidos y sentimientos, permitiéndonos viajar en el tiempo y atesorando la capacidad de la nostalgia.

Mamma Mia! ha llegado para contarnos sus pesares, sus amarguras, sus causas y sus ilusiones. Nos revela que la vida está llena de sombras y de luces, que en algunos momentos la gente huye de sí misma y, sin saberlo, en su huída van dejando huella en los rincones de un mundo que no es tan grande como pesamos.

Mas "Mamma Mia" é muito mais que isso. Um prato cheio para rir e também para se emocionar (destaque para a sequência que envolve - literalmente - mãe e filha na preparação da noiva para o casamento), o filme tem o poder de agradar em cheio não somente os que têm mais de 30 anos (que um dia curtiram e até dançaram as inúmeras canções das vozes afinadas do grupo ABBA, e que até hoje tocam nas casas noturnas) mas todo aquele que procura um ótimo entretenimento. Os mais jovens não terão do que reclamar, e podem até achar que "Hung Up", sucesso com Madonna, foi usada no filme: na verdade, a canção é "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme!", "sampleada" pela musa pop. Claro que há os que não toleram filmes "cantados", mas estes sabem - ou pelo menos deveriam saber - que, se não gostam, melhor ficar em casa resmungando, como sempre, que o mundo não tem nada de divertido.

Sucesso como musical da Broadway, também no filme de Phyllida Lloyd é o elenco que canta (e bem, embora nem todos sejam exímios cantores) os sucessos do grupo. Amanda Seyfrie, em boa atuação, tem o brilho nos olhos e a vitalidade necessária para encarnar a protagonista que causa toda a confusão do filme, num roteiro simples e de fácil entendimento.

Meryl Streep é realmente uma atriz fabulosa. Prestes a completar 60 anos, encarna com vigor e grande juventude um papel que tem tudo para aumentar seu recorde de indicações ao Oscar (já são 14, das quais venceu duas) e sua prateleira de Globos de Ouro (levou 6, em 21 indicações). Em mais uma experiência musical (já cantou em vários de seus filmes), seu solo para o clássico "The Winner Takes It All" é um dos momentos mais emocionantes do filme.

O grupo de coadjuvantes é poderoso, e portanto não tinha como não funcionar bem: de Colin Firth a Christine Baranski, passando por Stellan Skarsgard e Dominic Cooper, tudo funciona muito bem num elenco onde Julie Walters (de "Billy Elliot"), quase irreconhecível, reina absoluta num visual esfuziante, esbanjando como sempre seu enorme talento. Até Pierce Brosnan, muitas vezes rotulado como canastrão, está muito bem: se não canta tão bem, pelo menos não compromete, e faz belo dueto com Streep.

Não perca. E não perca também os créditos: justamente o segundo momento de "Dancing Queen" no filme é um bônus hilário que não pode deixar de ser assistido - e fique até o final, quando você pensar que acabou, tem mais. Com salas lotadas e muita gente entusiasmada comentando na saída, tem tudo para ser grande sucesso de bilheteria.

《媽媽咪呀》來得簡單直接得多，話唱就唱，要跳就跳，劇情的線路就算一塌糊塗，音樂劇的超現實氛圍卻蓋過一齊，簡單的講，就是娛樂至上，其餘免談。

一幕又一幕焦點都在梅麗史翠普飾演的Donna身上，又唱又跳，我驚訝的是，59歲的肉身可以如斯引人注目，風采依然，而Julie Walters 與Christine Baranski的襯托又如此恰到好處，三個人的化學效果，就躍升為舞台上的主角了。比得上她們的，當然有ABBA的經典名曲，一首接一首，就算我嫌歌曲之間接得太緊，情緒、情理都未及蘊釀，但我都不得不讚賞那簡單悅耳、歷久常新的旋律音韻。

電影還未播到一半，觀眾席已經一次又一次的搖搖攞攞，我那雙腿，也一次又一次的蠢蠢欲動。

Baseado nas músicas do prestigiado grupo sueco ABBA, a história deste filme musical gira em torno de Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), uma jovem de 18 anos que está prestes a casar com Sky (Dominic Cooper). Criada pela mãe, Donna (Meryl Streep), numa ilha grega, Sophie tem um sonho para que o seu casamento seja simplesmente perfeito que é encontrar o seu pai. Segundo o diário de Donna, há três homens que fizeram parte da sua vida e são esses que Sophie vai convidar para o seu casamento: Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), Harry Bright (Colin Firth) e Bill (Stellan Skarsgård). Agora ela vai ter de esperar e conhecer os três possíveis pais. Ao casamento juntam-se, também, as amigas de infância de Donna, Rosie (Julie Walters) e Tanya (Christine Baranski), que trazem velhas recordações do seu antigo trio musical “Donna And The Dynamos”.

Para o papel de Sophie foram consideradas as actrizes Mandy Moore (Because I Said So), Amanda Bynes (Hairspray), Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) e Emmy Rossum (O Fantasma da Ópera), mas foi Amanda Seyfried (Giras e Terríveis; série Big Love) que deu vida à personagem.

Mamma Mia! é um filme musical recheado com momentos de puro romance e comédia. Além destes ingredientes, o filme é composto por 22 canções da banda dos anos 70, como Dancing Queen e Take a Chance on Me. Benny Andersson e Bjorn Ulvaeus, membros do ABBA, estão entre os produtores executivos.

Gros succès aux États Unis; désigné comme LA révélation de l'année, Mamma Mia! est devenue LA grosse surprise pour le BOX OFFICE américain... Il dépasse déjà les 124 469 900 dollars de recette! Mais une fois de plus, en France, ce film sera considéré certainement comme un film nul et sans intérêt. La presse critique sera une fois de plus exécrable avec ce bijoux, c'est pour cela que je vous préviens tout de suite: ne vous laissez pas avoir, tout ceux qui ont eu la chance de le voir en Avant Première vous diront qu'il est excellent! Alors allez y! Faîtes vous plaisir!

Avec Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried et tant d'autre, ce film est aussi drôle qu'émouvant. Rythmé au son des musiques d'ABBA, l'envie de danser et de chanter est omniprésente. Durant les une heure cinquante du film, on ne s'ennuie pas une seule seconde... On savoure chaque instant...

Par souci de ne rien dévoiler je terminerai là. Laissez vous emporter par la talentueuse Meryl Streep, la magnifique voix d'Amanda Seyfried et de la déjantée Christine Baranski!

In other news, Mom is in the process of staining the armoire, which is a long hard slog. Our kitchen is stain central, and the fumes are going to everybody's heads.

Last weekend Mom took me to see Mamma Mia, which is a musical based on the songs of ABBA. Mom and Dad went to see it for their anniversary this year, and she liked it so much she took me too. It's actually a really cute movie. Plus, it has Meryl Streep, and Peirce Brosnan, and Colin Firth* and Julie Walters, so how can you NOT see it? Dad got Mom the soundtrack, so now we are all listening to ABBA nonstop. Mom has even decreed that it's unamerican not to like ABBA.Take a chance on meeeee....

I have gotten Facebook and become addicted.

I have also started school. Grr. BUT, hopefully I will be able to take December off the way I did last year! A&P is going super so far, and so is Latin. Math is just really really annoying, especially today's lesson where all Dr. Shorman is was yak on and on about the area of transversal laterals or something. Brit Lit is OK, but Sonlight, so involved. I'm done with Beowulf and onto Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. I just started Logic, and I haven't begun French yet, although I have a new resolution to work harder at it after being to Taize. It comes easily to me but I haven't been studying it the way I should. Orchestra and whatever band I end up with starts next week.

While in a bookstore today I saw the front jacket of a novel I'd read a few years ago. It was Nicholas Sparks' Nights in Rodanthe. It's engaging and an easy read; a predictable story of middle age love between two unlikely people who meet by chance. My wonderful friend Crystal from Reno NV sent it to me. I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise, but I'm glad I did. It's always good to be reacquainted with passion.

The book jacket wasn't the same as the one Crystal sent; it had a photograph of a man and a woman. See the picture above for the cover I received. Their faces were familiar to me and I realized the book cover was promoting a film made of the novel. The picture included Richard Gere and Diane Lane (they starred in Unfaithful several years ago). But here's the problem: while the character in the book played by Richard Gere looked like Richard Gere (or someone equally good looking), the character played by Diane Lane did not. Check out the picture of Diane Lane from the film: petite and slim, cute-pretty, in her early 40s. The character in the book was not. Although she was in her 40s, she was not a 'knock out' and was on the chubby side. Let's say Adrienne was average. In fact, it was because she wasn't a knock out that the love story with the handsome, divorced doctor fed into our fantasies and helped us better believe in the likelihood of chance encounters.

So then why does Hollywood need to make that character equal to the doctor in the looks department? Why change the nature and spirit of the story this way? Why does Hollywood think we want to see a beautiful woman in the part, rather than the richness and dimension that an average looking woman would offer.

This was done previously (probably many times) and most egregiously in the film production of the stage play, Frankie and Johnny at the Claire de Lune (filmed just as Frankie and Johnny). Another love story. This time with a diner cook with a prison past and a waitress with self esteem issues and a long, bad history with men. I may be wrong but I believe Kathy Bates (Misery) was in the original stage production. Do you know who was cast in the movie? Michelle Pfeiffer. Does Hollywood think that we can't be sympathetic to the sad, abusive past of an average woman? Or to average looking women regardless of their pasts?

Would it have been so bad to put Edie Falco (Sopranos) or the glorious Cherry Jones (see below) in the part?

Why do you think these casting changes happen? I don't think they do this with men, or at least as often. We know that Hollywood is certainly not as concerned with men's looks or their ages. Just think of all the films and television roles in which the less than young or attractive guy is paired with a young (or young-looking), attractive woman? There is clearly a bias for beauty in Hollywood and against average and old.

Yet I did see a woman on screen this summer in a big hit film that made me feel satisfied. She was in Mama Mia. It wasn't Meryl Streep. (Meryl, goddess that she is, is the antithesis of average). And it wasn't Christine - the fabulously talented but always seemingly uptight - Baranski. It was Julie Walters. Her looks were fun and relaxed, not Hollywood perfect and matched her carefree attitude. And she was portrayed in the same light. She's on the left in the picture below. 

Notice, however, whom she was paired with at the end of the film? (hint: It wasn't James Bond.)

So here's the formula for pairings in Hollywood films: handsome man + beautiful woman;average looking man + beautiful woman; average looking man + average looking woman (only to be used in the direst of circumstances and only when a handsome + beautiful match exists in the film).

Oh, and as a final note of the inconsistencies between book and film. As I remember it, in the book the characters are about the same age (mid to late 40s). Richard Gere is 59. Diane Lane is 43. I guess it's also OK to pair our older men with younger women. But can you think of a film where the roles were reversed? I didn't think so.

That has nothing to do with it. Radcliffe's naked pictures have been on the web for at least two years now and his performing Equus during the time the movie would have no effect on the movie. The real reason is as simple as the nose of your face: GREED! After you read the statements from Warner Brothers I believe you will come to same conclusion.

BURBANK, Calif.Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that it has moved back the release date of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” to Summer 2009. The sixth installment of the blockbuster Harry Potter

franchise will now open day-and-date domestically and in the major international markets on July 17, 2009. The announcement was made by Alan Horn, President and Chief Operating Officer, Warner Bros.

In making the announcement, Mr. Horn stated, “Our reasons for shifting ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to summer are twofold: we know the summer season is an ideal window for a family tent pole release, as proven by the success of our last Harry Potter film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment. Additionally, like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers’ strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films—changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of. We agreed the best strategy was to move ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer.”

Jeff Robinov, President of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, confirmed, “The release date change does not alter the production schedule for this or future Harry Potter films. Post-production on ‘Half-Blood Prince’’s release plans for the two-part ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ will not be affected by this change. We know Harry Potter fans are eagerly anticipating seeing the final chapters unfold onscreen. In fact, the good news for them is that the gap will now be shortened between ‘Half-Blood Prince’ and the first part of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’” was completed on time, and the studio

Commenting on the release date change for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” David Heyman, the producer of all the Harry Potter films, offered, “When Jeff Robinov explained the rationale behind moving the release date of ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ to July 2009, it was immediately apparent that this offered us the potential to reach the widest possible audience. David Yates, the director of both “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and who will also helm “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” added, “It has been a joy to work on ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.’ Dan, Rupert and Emma and all our returning young cast continue to blossom, and our new cast members bring fresh color and life to Hogwarts. In “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. So there you have it: Corporate Greed! This is what truly pisses me off, every Harry Potter movie, EVERY ONE has been released going into the Christmas season. It's a tradition, it's something to look forward to during that time of the year. Thanks a Million GRINCH & SCROOGE (WB) you really know how to & killed the season!

¡Mamma mia! La historia de una jovenzuela que vive en una pequeña isla griega con su madre, ambas a cargo de un hotel encantador y ruinoso, que está a punto de casarse, pero tiene un sueño, encontrar a su padre. Para ello, decide investigar y se topa con el diario de juventud de su madre, que por lo que lee, fue bastante liberal y rebelde en aquellos años, tanto que hubo tres hombres en un corto periodo de tiempo que encaja con la fecha en la que su pequeña debió ser concebida. La joven, ante la duda decide invitar a los tres hombres a su boda para descubrir cuál es su verdadero padre.

La película es absolutamente genial, un reparto asombroso, una historia simple y típica, pero que sazonada con unas gotas de música hortera (y a su vez maravillosa, obvio que me encanta ABBA) y una puesta en escena fresca, resulta un producto entretenido y eficaz. Te hace pasar un rato muy agradable y sales bailando literalmente del cine y durante la película, no pude evitar agarrar la botella del refresco y ponerme a cantar temas tan entrañables como "Dancing Queen".

Meryl Streep está fantástica y en forma en un papel bastante alejado de lo que estamos acostumbrados en ella, esta vez es algo simple y para pasarselo bien y ella se adapta perfectamente. Pierce Brosnan tan elegante como siempre, mis amigas babeaban, pero sigue sin ser mi tipo, definitivamente, a pesar de que en esta película me ha caido fantástico. Mención especial para Colin Firth, me tiene enamorada desde que lo vi en "El diario de Bridget Jones" y me encandiló completamente en "Love Actually", tiene cara de osito de peluche que parece ocultar un pasado más informal, un lado de misteriosa ternura que me encanta.

La música, como ya he dicho antes, perfecta, las canciones de ABBA siempre me han divertido muchísimo y además en esta película no hacen versiones raras que quitan la esencia de la original, como me parece, personalmente, que pasa en otras películas como la reciente "Across the universe". La ambientación es alegre y acorde con la historia, eso si, la playa les ha quedado bastante cutre, se nota que es suelo con una capa de arena... vale, es comprensible, a ver quién baila en una playa normal...

No tengo pega alguna de esta película. Adoro los musicales, soy una hortera y no me cuesta reconocerlo y aceptarlo. Quien diga que están todo el rato cantando, que se fastidien, en todas partes la califican de musical y un musical ya se sabe. Si odias los musicales, no vayas a verla, así de simple, y si vas, sabías lo que te echabas a la cara, luego no vale quejarse. Así que... todos contentos, pasa a ser irremediablemente uno de mis musicales preferidos. Los musicales me animan en mis momentos bajos y me divierten cuando tengo un día gris, así que sólo por eso, gracias!

The abiding memory of it is that of Julie Walters singing Take A Chance on Me, a song with lyrics diametrically opposed to its tune. I enjoy songs that are essentially dirges set to pop tracks. The Beatles were feckers for it. Ticket to Ride, what a deceptive little tune that was. La la la la la la she's la la-leaving me. You'd be singing away, thinking it was the happiest thing since Derek Mooney and then you'd have a think about the words.

But anyway, Abba. Look what this one turns out like if you look closely. Obsessive feckers.

And so on with many choruses of sleep with me, please. I suppose, what do you expect from a group who compare a relationship breakdown to the battle of Waterloo. It makes you wonder if you could really trust them at all. The Dancing Queen was probably an ageing crack whore.

I kveld har jeg sett Mamma Mia på kino1 i Skien - og for en film!

For en som er vokst opp med ABBA og som bare har gode minner om denne fantastiske gruppen var denne filmen en sann glede å se. Jeg ble forelsket, jeg ble glad, jeg gråt og jeg lo så tårene trillet av menneskene, historien, musikken, dansen og de vakre bildene. Filmens historie var enkel og uglamorøs - og i begynnelsen tror du at du vet slutten, men du blir allikevel overrasket. Filmen var deilig problemfri, løs i tonen og allikevel kjeder man seg ikke et sekund. Sangprestasjonene var vel kanskje det som overrasket meg mest og for hver ny sang kunne man bare høre et stort åhhh i kinosalen. Sangene er kjente av unge som gamle og de vekker som sagt minner - bare gode minner! Abba har vært - er - og vil bli - uforglemmelige, og denne filmen vil bare styrke deres utrolige musikk. CD`n med musikken skal kjøpes, det første jeg gjør i morgen! Det eneste negative jeg vil si om denne filmen er undertekstene og oversettelsen av sangene - som til tider var helt feil. Glem teksten - bare nyt resten!

Filmen anbefales på det sterkeste.

Die junge Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) heiratet und moechte vorher in Erfahrung bringen, wer ihr Vater ist. Dafuer laedt sie die 3 moeglichen Vaeter, die in der Zeit einen engeren Kontakt mit ihrer Mutter hatten, zu sich auf eine griechische Insel ein. Ihre Mutter Donna (Meryl Streep) weiss Nichts davon.

Die 3 Maenner Bill (Stellan Skarsgård), Harry (Colin Firth) und Sam (Pierce Brosnan) kommen zusammen auf der Insel an und die Geschichte nimmt ihren Verlauf hin bis zum Happy(?)-End.

Ebenfalls zur Hochzeit sind auch die 2 ehemaligen "Donna and the Dynamos" Bandmitglieder Rosie (Julie Walters) und Tanya (Christine Baranski) eingeladen, die das einsame Leben von Donna etwas auf den Kopf stellen.

Die Geschichte gewinnt jetzt nicht irgendeinen Kreativ-Preis, aber deswegen geht man auch nicht einen ABBA-Musical-Film anschauen. Denke ich Mal.

Was den Film fuer mich interessant und empfehlenswert macht sind die einzelnen Charaktere selber. Colin Firth ist fantastisch, Brosnan nimmt sich selber nicht so Ernst, Streep kann singen und ihre 2 ehemaligen Bandmitglieder Walters und Baranski sind einfach nur lustig.

OK, Brosnan kann nun Mal nicht wirklich singen, auch wenn jetzt die Frauen sagen "dies stimmt so nicht und so wichtig ist es ja auch nicht". Unsereins wuerde fuer solche Aussagen sich gleich auf der Anklagebank wiederfinden..

Fazit

Wenn man ABBA das Schlimmste findet, dann geht man mit dem Geld lieber Pizza essen. Aber sonst kommt man doch mit einem guten, mitwippenden Gefuehl aus dem Kino.
