Rating: 2

Review:

This movie was horrible! Although in idea the movie is good it is horrible in practice. It is a 15 minute segment showed 6 times, which makes the movie super boring. The charaters are as deep as a piece of paper. You have no clue what makes the characters do what they do. The only plus to the movie is the actors they got to play in the movie. (i.e. Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, etc.) The best scene in the movie is the credits!

Yep. The Princes are my movie awards, and it’s the halfway-through-2008 awards. We’ll go

Yep. The Princes are my movie awards, and it's the halfway-through-2008 awards. We'll go with Best Picture, Best Leading Actor, Best Actress Overall, Best Supporting Actor, Best Animated Feature, and Best Director. There will be some surprises. At the end I will give you the worst in each category. I'll begin with Best Animated Feature.

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE: WALL-E

I was thoroughly impressed by this animated feature, which has become my favorite animated movie of all-time. The story was a good one and very entertaining. Plus, it couldn't hurt to have the sound designer from the Star Wars saga help out.

OTHER NOMINEES: Horton Hears a Who!, Kung Fu Panda

BEST DIRECTOR: ANDREW ADAMSON, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN

Adamson is known previously for the animated features Shrek and Shrek 2. But his live-action work is even better. His direction has made the Narnia series look like a new Lord of the Rings. Having a great cast helps, but he makes these films work. It was hard to choose him over Christopher Nolan for The Dark Knight.

OTHER NOMINEES: Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight), Michel Gondry (Be Kind Rewind)

BEST ACTRESS OVERALL: CAMILLA BELLE AS EVOLET, 10,000 B.C.

This was actually a very good film that no one is going to remember come Oscar time, except maybe in costume. Wait, they hardly wear anything, except the women. Hmm. Anyways, Belle made the most impression on me simply because the other performances by females were just average. She was just beyond average, but enough to win.

OTHER NOMINEES: Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Dark Knight), Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: HEATH LEDGER AS THE JOKER, THE DARK KNIGHT

Well, why not? I mean, he has possibly given the best performance in a film I have ever seen. He made the Joker seem real, not just a made-up character. His laugh was great. The Joker seems to have changed a lot since Cesar Romero in the old TV series, of which I just saw the really confusing movie. I had no problem giving him the Prince for this.

OTHER NOMINEES: Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Shia LaBouef (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)

BEST LEADING ACTOR: STEVEN STRAIT AS N'LEH, 10,000 B.C.

I had never heard of Steven Strait before this film, and as I watched 10,000 B.C., I couldn't wait for the credits to find out who played this guy so greatly. It turns out I had seen him before. In the teenage superhero film Sky High, he played Warren Peace, the outcast teen hero. I found that out as I was writing this actually. Anyways, he made a caveman seem like one of us. That was probably the best part.

OTHER NOMINEES: Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), Dennis Quaid (Vantage Point), Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian), Mos Def (Be Kind Rewind)

BEST PICTURE: THE DARK KNIGHT

All the acting was above average or better (in Heath Ledger's case especially) and the directing was awesome. Before examining the Best Picture category, The Dark Knight had 3 nominations and 1 win (Best Supporting Actor for Ledger) in these Princes. Why choose anything else (though 10,000 B.C. did have 2 wins)?

OTHER NOMINEES: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, 10,000 B.C., The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie, Be Kind Rewind

Okay, now it's time for the Peasants, the worst of the movie world.

WORST ANIMATED FEATURE: KUNG FU PANDA

This was actually very decent, but it was last out of the 3 animated movies I've seen, so...

WORST DIRECTOR: NOT AVAILABLE

I would choose the director of my Worst Film, but he was actually decent, so I can't.

WORST ACTRESS OVERALL: CATE BLANCHETT AS IRANA SPALKO, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL

Did not like her performance at all. An average movie could have gone better without her. I was generous giving this film a B. I wanted to give this to Miley Cyrus for her concert film, but I didn't see it.

WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR: MATTHEW FOX AS KENT TAYLOR, VANTAGE POINT

I was hoping for a great performance from Jack Shepard. Maybe Matthew should stick to being stuck on islands or assistant-coaching football teams (We Are Marshall). I wanted to give this to Justin Timberlake for The Love Guru, but I would never see that.

WORST LEADING ACTOR: WILL SMITH AS JOHN HANCOCK, HANCOCK

Oh, boy. Hopefully this is the only time I give this tag to Will Smith. By all means, Will Smith is my favorite actor. But if you want a good Will Smith, watch Hitch, I Am Legend, and Men In Black. And while you're at it, watch The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for a younger version that is hilarious.

WORST FILM: HANCOCK

Just read my review.

So, these have been the 1st half of 2008 Princes. Check back in January for the second half and overall Princes. I'll be coming at you in a bit with some more movie stuff.

I'm really getting into movies, if you haven't noticed.

Rated PG-13. Out on DVD. Directed by Pete Travis. Written by Barry Levy. Starring Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, Forest Whitaker, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, Bruce McGill, Eduardo Noriega, Edgar Ramirez, Said Taghmaoui, Ayelet Zurer and Zoe Saldana.

.

When I first saw the trailer for Vantage Point it seemed like it could be a decent action movie with an interesting (and unoriginal, but that's okay) narrative device -- one event, in this case the assassination of the President -- told from multiple viewpoints. Not to mention a pretty solid cast with a number of acclaimed actors -- Oscar winners and nominees and others who I happen to like. However, a really, really shitty script filled with plot holes, stilted dialogue, lame, predictable twists and one hell of a cheesy ending absolutely torpedoes a promising idea.

The opening sequence was not particularly compelling, thanks in part to haphazard direction and truly horrendous line reading from both Sigourney Weaver and an atrocious awful Zoe Saldana as part of a news team covering an international summit on terrorism in Spain. We see the assassination (it's not much of a spoiler to reveal this, it happens about 3 minutes in) from their point of view before it switches. From there, we get a number of different perspectives, with each revealing a little more of the story.

We get the stories from the point of view of the Secret Service agents (Quaid & Fox), the American tourist (Whitaker), the President (Hurt), the shady Spanish cop (Noriega, from Abre Los Ojos) amongst others. There are a couple of parts where the concept is used to further the story, but mostly it serves as a distraction to a fairly straightforward plot. All it does is highlight the extremely inconsistent timing (and some huge, glaring plot holes that come with it) and ridiculous coincidences that leave all the characters in the same area for the climax.

For such a strong cast, the best performance is Quaid's, only because it's not that obvious that he's phoning it in. The rest range from wasted (Noriega) to bad (Fox...oh, Jack, pick your movies better) to embarrassing (Whitaker, you just won a Oscar, for fuck's sake) in what little screen time each character has. None of the characters gets much of a back story and there is no real motivation shown for their actions. The direction is sloppy and jump-cuts and close-ups don't mask the lack of suspense.

There was also a twist that was revealed in the trailer which is pretty annoying -- not that the movie would have been saved by me not knowing it, but it would have been a little surprise, I suppose.

Two more rants --- first, for some strange reason, there's no blood or even bulletholes during either the assassination or a flashback to Quaid's character taking a bullet a year earlier. You know, PG-13 movies can show blood....it made no sense and made it seem like a 70s TV show, where the bullets fly, people pretend to get hit and there's never any blood. Second, there's an annoying little girl who is just absolutely fucking brutal in every possible way who a major part of the plot revolves around.

The only saving graces are its length (84 minutes of a shitty movie is better than 2 1/2 hours of one) and the fact that they tried something reasonably fresh for the genre. It didn't work, but at least they tried.

Grade: D-

The doctrine of original sin was a convenient "truth" for the builders of the empire [Rome 418AD]. They could continue to conquer the world and subdue peoples. And now they could do it with the authority of a divine calling. What the world needed and what the masses throughout the empire required was the truth that they, with their church princes, possessed. Truth was to be distributed from above. It was to be a religion of dependency. And part of the conflict with Pelagius [a well known Celtic Bishop, teacher in Rome and then Palestine] and other teachers in the Celtic mission was that a people who believed they were made in the image of God and were therefore bearers of an ancient wisdom and an unspeakable dignity were not a people that could easily be cowed by power and external authority. The empire and its church chose to neglect the sacred tune at the heart of the human soul. Instead they heard only a disharmony of original sin that had to be denounced and therefore could be dominated."

From "Christ of the Celts" by J Philip Newell.

What a fascinating quote. So...I wonder...isn't it fascinating that while the Catholic Church shored up the official opinion on original sin by stamping out the "heretics", that a whole different breed of believers existed who saw humans as the children of God vested with the divine character. Interesting that perhaps an empire needed to squelch that thought. Does the empire still need to squelch that? Religious empire. Consumer Empire. Political/Military Empire. They need us to be sinners...NOT saints...because the minute that people believe they are OK and that others are OK, then they cease to need to export someone's brand onto others...

Wow...now that's interesting.

Here some spoilers from DarkUfo:

1) Back in Season 2 Damon/Carlton said "The story of the wrecked research vessel, it will be coming at some point but we can't guarantee it'll be in Season 3"
2) Damon Lindelof wrote : "Libby's got this mysterious backstory, of which we've only given you the tip of the iceberg. We know she's spent some time in the mental institution with Hurley, and the idea of killing her before she had an opportunity to explain how she got there... we have a master plan for how we're going to tell that story, but it's all posthumous. You'll start to learn Libby's moves through flashbacks over the course of the next season"
3) "Viewers will learn why Libby was in the asylum, and why the island has healing powers"
4) Ausiello reported "Eko might be back and it might not necessarily be a flashback episode"
5) In an Official Podcast - "There will be a Rousseau flashback eventually. In it, it will talk about Montand and his arm"
6) In an Official Podcast - "They will be revisiting the psychic's predictions for Claire in the future as well as Walt's abilities. The Others' obsession with children and pregnancy goes beyond the inability to successfully bear children on the island. The Other's definitely have an interest in children with special abilities. That's why they took Walt. There are two factions of The Others and are in no relation to the hatches/stations. They will be getting back to the statue before the show ends."
7) Damon and Carlton : "They revealed that the smoke monster will not be explained until the end of the series. "
8) On the Season 3 DVD Commentary : "Horace Goodspeed and Olivia are important to the DHARMA story, and we can expect to see more of them in the future. Speaking of volcanoes, there is one on the island. Damon says it will be of "seismic importance" (pun very much intended.) Annie is an extremely important part of the island's backstory, and it is a planned chapter to come. Annie is more important than the Goodspeeds or the volcano. We have not seen Ben's motivation for his role in the purge, but we will."
9) From Kristin : "The four-toed statue "will be back on the show," says Damon [Lindelof]. "People will learn who built it and why it has four toes.""
10) From an Interview with Variety "We will find out more back story as to why the late Libby was in the same mental hospital with Hurley, prior to the plane crash, and presumably after she gave her boat to Desmond for the race. [We will] at some point catch up with Emma and Zack, the two kids from the tail section group of survivors who were kidnapped by the Others in season 2's "The Other 48 Days." To the question of whether we'll ever see Katey Sagal's Helen character (Locke's former flame) again, Darlton indicated that they hoped so. To the question of whether the DeGroots, the hirsute couple who founded the Dharma Initiative, are still alive, Cuse and Lindelof paused a bit and then pressed for more specificity on the time frame of the question. As of where the time line of "Lost" will be when the series returns on April 24, Darlton would only say: "One of them is." Lindelof let it be known that in a recent episode when one of the castaways asked Ben if he knew what the island's smoke monster really was and Ben responded that he didn't know -- big lie. "Ben was lying about the smoke monster," Lindelof said."

The Top 12 Snubs of the Emmy Top 10s

The Top 12 Snubs of the Emmy Top 10s

This post has been delayed a bit after getting captured between my new and old computers, but I think it's for the best. When the Emmy Nominations are announced in just over a week's time, more names will be added to this list, but what this list allows us to do is spread out the disappointment. That these contenders won't even have a chance in front of a panel, though, is its own tragedy, and the more time I had to embrace this fact the more I realized how much this process hurts.

And it's not that it's not fair: while it may not always produce results I like, the current Emmy system is perhaps as close to democracy that they could possibly achieve. The reality of popular and patronage-dominated shows performing well at the Emmys will not go away anytime soon, so we should be thankful that there were some pleasant surprises as I discussed last week. But at the same time, we can't help but feel it: that the people who were snubbed at this end of the process deserve recognition, no matter how they get it.

So, without further delay, and in no particular order, my Top 12 2008 Emmy Snubs...and let's hope the list doesn't grow too greatly next week.

1. Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights)

Category: Supporting Actress, Drama Series

What more does she need to do to get noticed? Britton moved herself to the supporting category to avoid juggernauts like Sally Field or Glenn Close, but at the end of the day the category proved to be even more difficult to break into unless you're heavily featured in a popular show or an award show veteran. She gave a fantastic performance through an uneven season, the constant rock the show could lean on. She makes weak storylines solid and good storylines great, and if that's not a great supporting actress I don't know what is.

2. January Jones (Mad Men)

Category: Supporting Actress, Drama Series

January Jones is the victim of her series' plot - the show's pilot, the episode most voters would have seen, doesn't actually feature the character of Betty Draper, revealing her existence only at episode's end. While someone like John Slattery was able to ride his reputation to a nomination, Jones doesn't have the name recognition and is unfairly snubbed here. She did some amazing work embodying the 60s housewife, especially in "Shoot," and that this portrayal won't be seen by the judges is a disservice to the ensemble nature of the series. While I'm happy for Christina Hendricks, that was Jones' spot.

3. Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies)

Category: Supporting Actor, Comedy Series

With all three of his primary co-stars breaking into their respective Top 10 lists, forgive me for being upset that my favourite was left off. Not known for his comic work, McBride's Emerson Cod has been a delight. He's a knitting private detective, for cripes sake, and he has adapted maybe best of all to the witicisms and whimsy that this world entails (albeit it through cynicism and sarcasm). The shortened season robbed him of a showcase episode (We got hints of a baity fatherhood episode), something that the other actors by comparison had, but that doesn't mean that the show's most consistently hilarious character should get snubbed. Here's hoping the voters smarten up for the show's second season.

For more snubs including performers from House, Lost and Battlestar Galactica, click on through.

4. Sarah Chalke (How I Met Your Mother)

Category: Guest Actress, Comedy Series

While Scrubs has never been able to crack into any categories but Series and Lead Actor based on Zach Braff's emergence as a hollywood darling, this doesn't mean that Sarah Chalke does not deserve attention. She's a gifted comic actress, a fact that was no more apparent than when she effortlessly transitioned into a last minute guest spot on How I Met Your Mother as Ted's girlfriend Stella. Playing Eliot's charm without her neurotic tendencies, Chalke won over fans and critics alike with a fantastic performance - too bad that Emmy voters are too busy nominating academy veterans who take baity starring roles on Desperate Housewives to realize that much better work is happening elsewhere.

5. Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica)

Category: Lead Actor, Drama Series

With his female counterpart making it into her Top 10 list, Edward James Olmos is sadly left off his own. In a way, it makes sense storyline wise: Roslin is the public face, the one who has to deal with all of the consequences (And the praise) while Adama largely works behind the scenes. Olmos is rarely working in broad strokes, choosing instead to capture emotion in glances and undertones. I think that he would have greatly benefitted had the mid-season finale, Revelations, aired before the submission deadline: it voters had had time to see that episode, maybe they would have seen what happens with Adama breaks down and loses all of that composure, which is when Olmos absolutely nails it every time. But, even then, something tells me that the admiral of a Battlestar might never be able to make it into Emmy's biggest races - let's just hope that changes for the show's final episodes next year.

6. Henry Ian Cusick/Terry O'Quinn (Lost)

Category: Supporting Actor, Drama Series

One is last year's winner, who wasn't really given any material this season to justify another win but remained strong enough to at least make the Top 10 list. The other is a performer who starred in the highlight episode of the season, the time-bending "The Constant," and proved his value to the cast in that moment. Both, however, are missing from the Top 11 names, and both are rather awful oversights. O'Quinn got burned by the fact that his flashback episode is mostly about his childhood as opposed to his adulthood (And thus he's played by younger actors), and Cusick just didn't have enough Emmy credibility to make it onto the list. Regardless, they're just the beginning of the rather awful oversight of a lot of Lost performers.

7. Robert Sean Leonard (House)

Category: Supporting Actor, Drama Series

On a week-by-week basis, Robert Sean Leonard is a great foil for Dr. Gregory House, someone to point out his flaws and to play Watson to his Holmes (Often unwittingly). But in the show's fourth season, something else happened: not only just defined by House, Wilson was a character in his own right as he started a relationship with former fellowship candidate Amber (The amazing Anne Dudek, who better not be added to this list when the Guest Actress Drama category emerges). His performance in the stunningly tragic "Wilson's Heart," as the team discovers it is Amber who is struggling for her life following a bus crash, is as heartbreaking as it gets: that final moment between these two characters, one who feels betrayed by a friend and the other who is facing death, is so purely emotional that I teared up. That voters won't get to see that is extremely unfortunate, although not quite surprising.

8. Yunjn Kim/Evangeline Lilly (Lost)

Categories: Supporting/Lead Actress, Drama Series

The narrative on Lost this year was male-dominated, no question, but the two women who emerged as part of the Oceanic Six did receive some strong material and delivered well throughout the season. There was a lot of external cards being played that meant less focus on these characters, but that neither were able to break into their respective categories leaves the Lost representation severely limited. We shouldn't be surprised by Kim's snub for her work in Ji Yeon or her heartbreaking turn in the finale, considering the Elizabeth Mitchell's showier turn last year was even ignored, but it still hurts that she has never gotten attention for what has been a highly compelling role. Lilly may have gotten one of the weakest flashes of the year, but she submitted a smart episode ("Something Nice Back Home") and continues to do solid work when asked. They're not the worst snubs in the world, but they still sting.

9. Matthew Fox (Lost)

Categories: Lead Actor, Drama Series

Considering that Lost's fourth season was fairly male-dominated, you would expect that its male lead might get some recognition. However, Matthew Fox's role is a bit of a divisive one for viewers as they question whether Jack is a likable character. That hatred has never made sense for me, mainly because that's part of the point: Jack as a character is a flawed man thrust into a leadership scenario that he isn't actually comfortable with. His mistakes have all been in an attempt to serve the common interest and deal with his own demons, and while he's had some rough patches I thought the fourth season was a strong one for him. While it didn't quite have the same material he got last year in that first flashforward, the season saw Jack facing both present and future crises in a way that maintains Fox's strong work...and was at least stronger than Patrick frakkin' Dempsey.

10. Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica)

Category: Supporting Actress, Drama Series

Okay, so there was never a chance that this model turned actress would make her way into the Emmy Top 11 - that doesn't mean, however, that she didn't deserve it. A lot of people underestimate Helfer based on her looks, a trend I hope dies off once people see her post-BSG career span some high-profile TV guest appearances (This week's Burn Notice premiere, as an example). What Helfer does so well in the role of the various Six versions is to give each one their own story, and her submitted episode offered the best example yet: Natalie, a leader of a rebel group of Cylons, comforts and then kills another Six who had killed one of the humans who had tortured her on New Caprica. Whether it's as Head Six, who waxes poetic with a one-track mind, or as Caprica Six whose life has been moulded by countless events, Helfer embodies these characters with a maturity that few could have anticipated following her casting in the Miniseries.

11. Jaime Pressly (My Name is Earl)

Category: Supporting Actress, Comedy Series

I haven't watched a full episode of My Name is Earl since its first season - the show was strong enough then, but after I started watching The Office I kind of lost interest. It was getting repetitive, and the things that made it charming were slowly turning into the things that made it feel already dated compared to its running mate of sorts. However, one cannot argue that Jaime Pressly's performance has remained consistently strong, and that her Emmy win last year was unfortunately timed but certainly deserved. Which makes it confusing that what was once a guaranteed nomination for most predictors has turned into a complete and total snub. The list of candidates is fairly strong, but that it's missing last year's winner is just confusing.

12. How I Met Your Mother

Category: Outstanding Comedy Series

I've been resisting adding series to these lists, since the Comedy/Drama lists were pretty solid, but the more I think about it the more annoyed I am that one of the sharpest comedies on television is being left off of these lists. Yes, I understand that the show inherently skews young and that its attraction for critics has never quite been shared by broader audiences, but this is the type of show that's infectious. When you get hooked, you get hooked: I've seen people who are fairly critical fall in love with this show, mainly because it has heart and character to spare. I guess at this point we can only hope that the show gets the same treatment as The Wire, where its collective accomplishment is finally recognized when it receives its swan song - but, hopefully, we're still a while out from that.

13. Emily VanCamp and Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters)

Categories: Supporting Actress/Actor, Drama Series

It's not a surprise that these two young performers were unable to break into their respective categories, but it stings regardless. What was so strong about these two performers was their ability to take a storyline that really didn't work and make it into something that at the least lived up to Brothers & Sisters' strong dramatic performance pedigree. The show is one of the best acting showcases on television, and that the show itself didn't break through to the Top 10 is also disappointing. And while I feel for Calista Flockhart, Patricia Wettig and Matthew Rhys, for the most part I think that young performers deserve a shot at Emmy glory just as much as their more well-known counterparts. Whether facing an uncertain paternity or a crippling drug addiction, these two performers were at the top of their game surrounded by veteran performers - what more do Emmy voters want?

14. Jorge Garcia (Lost)

Category: Supporting Actor, Drama Series

From some of the feedback the list has created amongst Lost fans, there has been mention of the lovable but oft-overlooked Jorge Garcia, whose work as Hurley has always been strong. I think that one of the reasons he didn't make this list to begin with was that he was never close to being in contention considering the show's more well known candidates. However, that doesn't mean his work wasn't award worthy: his work in "The Beginning of the End," in particular, showed a great sense of nuance and tragedy that is something Garcia has always been good with. Of televisions various characters largely relegated to comic relief, Hurley has proven capable of handling the emotional weight of a drama series in a way that elevates the show as a whole, and it's a pity that a lack of name recognition meant Garcia could never be honoured as such.

As always, a special thank you goes out to Tom O'Neil from The Envelope for collecting the Top 10 lists. You can check out all of the lists at his Gold Derby Blog.

I just saw Vantage Point, a suspense film starring Dennis Quaid, Forrest Whitaker, Sigourney Weaver, Matthew Fox, William Hurt, and many other fine actors. The suspense begins nearly immediately, and never lets up. It feels impressively authentic, like watching a documentary.

The premise is a story of an assassination attempt, told from many different perspectives (thus the title). As each vantage point unfolds, you realize that the event's facts are just beginning to become apparent. As the viewer comes to this realization, curiosity and suspense build.

This is one of those films where revealing some aspects of the story would probably spoil it entirely. So, if you enjoy suspense films, then consider Vantage Point a must see.

Hey everyone:)

So, who else absolutely loved the movie "Speed Racer?" I was in a great state of mind yesterday when I went to see it. This is how you make a movie absolutely incredible. You go into a really good movie expecting it to be enjoyable and then when you watch it you get blown away, because it wasn't only enjoyable, it was an incredible feat for the mind. It was moving, visually stunning, and just fun on top of it.

My favorite part about the movie was that the editing was done just like one thinks. You know how your mind fires off and you see all sorts of images in a weird sequence? Well, just watch the first part of the movie and you will see a good example. There are all different images that make up what the characters are thinking. It works though. Usually, a filmmaker would want to be careful using that technique just because the not so artistic might not understand what is going on and get confused. Never a good thing, but I didn't hear the audience getting confused. It was great.

We can't go anywhere without hearing about how visually stunning it was. What an incredible art direction! It reminded me of all those driving video games I used to play when I was a kid and I got to go on all these weird tracks. I was getting a little whoosy in a few spots, but nothing I couldn't handle. If you have ever seen any part of the television series then you know that the color scheming on it was absolutely perfect.

The acting was good for what they were looking for. Hirsch played Speed Racer perfectly. He looked the part and did a good job acting it. John Goodman looks and acts exactly like Pops so that is a given there. Susan Surandon did a great job as Mom. The little brother was perfect. He looked exactly like John Goodman too. Then there was Christina Ricci as Trixie. She did a really good job. Matthew Fox was in it and did an absolutely terrific job, as well as Eddie Izzard. You have to give them all brownie points, because they had to shoot this movie almost purely on green screen. That's a challenging thing to do. You try acting like something is there when it is not.....quite tricky.

This movie was the most surprising movie of the year. I was really blown away. Well worth a watch, especially if you have seen part or all of the television cartoon. I want to own this movie and if you guys know me at all that is a huge victory to end up in my DVD collection.

Alright, I'm off to make my terrific day!

Have a great one:)

• Episódio: There's no Place Like Home, partes 2 & 3
• Temporada: 4
• Canal: FOX

I first saw this film when I was commuting (to Ortigas? Market Market?) to submit my TOR for T3lus... or was it from Navit9ire to Ortigas.. either, it's when I got my TOR.

On that bus, I saw the scene from the movie (photo above) where Howard Lewis (Forest Whitaker), is shooting his video camera and thinking that he captured something important on the assassination...

Just another movie, right?

What captured my attentions was that, everything rewind back starts again on a different perspective... this time from the US President's view.

I like the idea of the movie... It has always fascinated of what others are thinking or seeing and this movie kind of satisfy that curiosity. (There's eve an episode on the animated cartoon The Simpson).

I will post a video about this movie soon from Utube as well as qoutes from the movie...

I'm rating Vantage Point an 8 of 10.

Movie Room Reviews just added a couple solid watches to its movie review features. The just released comedy drama In Bruges stars Colin Farrell as a troubled hit man who is hunted by his boss for killing a little boy in a botched hit. This cleverly written drama movie is full of action, but it is the humorous writing and clever dialog that really makes it a winner. Check out the full Movie Room Review!

Vantage Point, set to be released on DVD July 1, stars Dennis Quaid as an experienced, but shaken Secret Service Agent positioned to help guard the president as he prepares to speak in Spain. The first several scenes of the movie present the president being shot from several different character "vantage points". The movie is an intense race to protect the president and find the assassins. Check out the full Movie Room Review!

Enjoy!

• Episódio: There's no Place Like Home
• Temporada: 4
• Canal: FOX

O Ben (Michael Emerson), o Locke (Terry O'Quinn) e o Hurley (Jorge Garcia), que pretendem deslocar a ilha a mando do Jacob.

Vurdering:

USA 2008 | Regi: Pete Travis | Spilletid: 90 min | IMDb

Filmen følger denne hendelsen gjennom ulike perspektiver.
