Most people don't really care where you were born, went to school and one a talent quest when you were 11. Tell them about your music style, your genre, what you think will make them want to know more about you and listen to your music. Tell them what you have achieved and what you have to offer. Think WIIFM (What's In In For Me) Your Bio should be short and punchy.

The Oscar winner has worn everything from Oscar de la Renta to Donna Karan, but for the cover of her new album, which hits stores in September, Jennifer Hudson proves that she's no fashion snob, opting for a simple $36 glitter-striped American Apparel dress. Bargain hunting's nothing new to the "Spotlight" singer, who readily admits to an obsession with affordable British chain Topshop. Not to be outdone by Cavalli or Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier is the latest designer to lend his couture expertise to create custom-made costumes for a singer. The designer has created eight haute couture looks for Kylie Minogue's "X" world tour that kicked off last night in Paris. Kylie opened the show in a purple chiffon gown from Gaultier's 2006 collection that was completely couture modified to fit her. Some of her other dazzling outfits include a blue and white "K" logoed cheerleader- and football-inspired outfit complete with padded top, shorts and high heel sneaker shoes. She also showed off a long red satin dress, an equestrian-inspired look that included a black long tailed coat with fringe and over-the-knee leather boots, a sexy Geisha outfit with long Swarowski crystal mesh sleeves, a long turquoise gown with coral heart embroidery, a navy sequin sailor outfit, and finally a crystal embroided corset and black satin pants. The Spice Girls and Jennifer Lopez may have chosen Roberto Cavalli for their costumes, but Madonna's return to the stage costumes are custom-made Dolce & Gabbana. The Queen of Pop sported a a black satin tailcoat with pink lining to open her one-night only Roseland show, only to shed it for a black lace top with puff sleeves. Madge continued the show in sexy corset tops and a black nylon vest with "Hard Candy" written in Swarovski crystals. Even Justin Timberlake got into the act, wearing Dolce & Gabbana for their "4 Minutes to Save the World" duet. Expect to see the custom-made pieces for her London and Paris performances, if you haven't already seen them on the cover of the Hard Candy CD, in the "4 Minutes to Save the World" music video and the cover of Vanity Fair. LeAnn Rimes has been staking her claim as country's resident fashionista for a while, appearing in glamorous gowns on the red carpet and becoming a front row fixture at New York Fashion Week. And last night, she did not disappoint at all at the CMAs, appearing in three flawless dresses. She hit the red carpet in a blush Monique Lhuillier gown, changed into a sleek one-shouldered Herve Leger sheath to introduce a performance, and then performed in a slinky navy charmeuse J. Mendel. Rihanna turned out in not one, but two jaw-droppingly, gorgeous looks at the at the World Music Awards in Monaco this weekend. First, she stole the spotlight on the red carpet in a curve-hugging D&G fishtail dress. The emerald green color looks amazing against her skin and her bright red lips and nails finish it off to perfection. After the show began, she switched into a flirty party frock for her performance. While some of the singer's onstage looks are a bit much for real-life, this short and sexy dress is a total winner. The singer paired her adorable dress with lace gloves for an edgier look -- a nod to Madonna perhaps? We'd skipped the gloves, but would love to add both dresses to our wardrobe. On Friday, we gave you a peek at Cavalli's original sketch of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's costumes for their tour that kicked off this weekend in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Didn't make it to the concert? Here's a look at all of J.Lo's outfit changes. Cavalli and the couple had quietly been working on their wardrobe since July and we must say we are pretty impressed. J.Lo opens in a 1970's inspired bright blue and green pair of bell bottoms and matching butterfly halter top. The singer then revisits her "Jenny From The Block" era in a hooded mini dress with bold silver plates, knee-high leather boots and long neck chains. Keeping the boots, she quickly changes into a J.Lo favorite style with a metallic gold muu muu-inspired dress by Issa (the star loves the cape so much she even wears it off the stage!). Finally, she closes the show in a sweeping floor-length yellow dress with a jeweled neckline. Notice lack of form-fitting attire -- is that for easy movement on stage or is something else developing? When Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony needed costumes for their upcoming tour, they called in a favor from one of J.Lo's favorite designers, Roberto Cavalli. A few weeks back, J.Lo helped Cavalli open his Just Cavalli boutique in NYC, where she kept close to the designer all night -- perhaps talking last minute costume details? Cavalli admits to being inspired by music, so its no wonder he has also been responsible for Christina Aguilera's and Michael Jackson's on stage looks. Cavalli has created five looks for Jennifer and a variety of tailored suits and separates for Marc. For Jennifer's, you can expect a 1970's vibe, followed by some urban cool and menswear-inspired looks that complement the singer's personal style. As one of her fans, Cavalli notes, "I am honored to be working with Jennifer. I appreciate her sense of glamourous, sophisticated style and have worked with her to bring as much of her personal style into her tour costumes." We can't wait to the husband-wife duo on stage -- their tour kicks off tonight in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

What makes Gwen Stefani a style icon? It's all in the mix! "She's a little punk, a little Hollywood glamour; she's a little bit of a reggae girl. And she's a tomboy," says her stylist and secret weapon Andrea Lieberman, who began working with Stefani on the "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" video. For The Sweet Escape tour, Lieberman and Stefani "were in a very '50s sensibility" that "spanned the globe." They took inspiration from Elvis and his "Jailhouse Rock" phase as well as '50s London. "That's where all the shirts and the ties came from," Lieberman tells us. "A lot of the hairstyles are a very rockabilly." At the same time they moved past the Harajuku Girls phase into something "more grown up. We never did a more traditional Japanese thing and we sort of wanted to go there with '4 In The Morning." But if you want to steal Gwen's look, you just have to hit your local mall. "It's all out there. It's just a matter of how you put it together," she says. For example, "we got our skinny ties from Urban Outfitters."

Lily Allen took a break from Chanel (never mind her own Lily Loves clothing line) and wore a designed-especially-for-her cotton and lurex Heatherette dress at a London concert July 16. Heatherette's two designers -- who told PEOPLE they have Allen's CD in constant rotation in their New York studio -- created three dresses for the singer after she visited them earlier this month (and invited them to two concerts). "I love Lily because she embodies the spirit of now and the joy of self expression through fun fashion choices," says Heatherette co-designer Richie Rich. One of the reasons Allen came to see Rich and his design partner Traver Rains: After several months of emailing with Allen, they'd sent her a dress without measuring her and it didn't fit correctly. She came in for a fitting, and it looks like the second time was the charm.

What does hip-hop queen Eve rely on to stay beautiful and stylish? At the taping of her music video for her new single "Tambourine" off her latest album Here I Am due out in August, the self-described 'pitbull in a skirt' dished to PEOPLE on her summer must-have fashion and beauty items.
