How can one live without having a secret language? I'm feeling so exposed if I have to talk private stuff in a language that people around me understand. Even if it's not that private, just regular talk - I'm uncomfortable with it. Or maybe I'm just spoiled. Maybe other people don't talk about stuff when people are around? Or maybe they don't care?

I speak Swedish with my family - quite safe here in Israel, even though it happened a few times that I met people who understand Swedish.. and it went all weird and embarrassing and you start thinking What the heck did I talk about the last few minutes. I hope I didn't say anything bad.

When we don't want the kids to hear what we say.. when we want to plan things without their opinion - or just be able to talk without their comments about this and that - we speak English. Works fine! -this far. Though Efraim is curious and started asking a lot and is slowly slowly starting to learn a bit. He knows a lot more English than I did when I was ten and started studying English in school. That's one of the reasons we now started studying Spanish.. so we can switch to Spanish when the kids reach the level in English where they will actually understand what we're saying.

When we go to Sweden (which happened only once this far) we speak Hhebrew.. quite safe too. There are only a few situations where we really don't have any language that works.. and that's when the whole family is around.. with brothers and parents who understand both Hebrew and Swedish. And that's why we've got to add some more languages to our list!!

Allow me to introduce Tony. A kind-hearted, good looking, intelligent boy of 19. He is currently in New York City visiting his friend Mike (with whom I am also acquainted through the online political simulation game I met Tony on - more about that another time). He's going home in a day or two though, and I'm hoping he had a great time. I was a bit apprehensive about the part of NYC he was staying in (Harlem - known for it's roughness), but I assume he's alright given that Mike has signed on MSN periodically. I wanted to ask him how Tony was at one point, but decided it would come across as sort of clingy, or who knows what, and so I didn't, hahaha.

Though I've been very busy this past week, I've really missed him, and in multiple ways. Ya see, he's closer to me than just a mere friend, and I don't enjoy when we go this long without talking. That's not to say I can't stand it, but I just would rather more talking than less...make sense? Hopefully, lol.

I hope when I ask him how the trip went he knows I'm being genuine, otherwise I fear he'll just be cold and take it wrong (and I have my reasons). He spent a lot of time, and I really hope he had a good time and am interested in what he did. Even though I only live 3-4 hours from NYC depending on traffic, I've only ever driven through it. I hope he had a good time with Mike, I really like him and think he's a good person, especially considering how rough Harlem can be.

Anyway, point-in-hand, I hope he had a great time and saw a lot of the things we talked about and is in good spirits. He's felt quite cold lately and I just want to be able to talk to him about it and have a good conversation and feel like we're friends rather than it being a stressfest! *fingers crossed* After not talking to him for so long I really just want to have a happy friendly conversation with him. I guess that's all I can hope for right now.

Well, I'm off, I can barely think and this post is undoubtedly riddled with mistakes and makes me sound like an illiterate pooperscooper, to be nice and eloquent. Night!

There were days where I felt down. I hid secrets from those that had neither eyes nor ears. Their mouth would open, and soundless words would drone from their poisonous lips. Their nose could not smell, and their hands could not feel. They were dead to me.

My only friend, my only companion as the sun shattered upon the ground, was the moon. He was delusional, fake. Only the wolves knew his tale, for that I could never understand. For it was in the dark of night that I of few, relyed on the shallow light of the moon.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="401" caption=""My only friend, my ownly companion as the sun shattered upon the ground, was the moon.""][/caption]

With my dampened eyes, I gazed at the wolves. They traveled together, under the light of the moon. They were family. Such a sight was beautiful, unseen before. Upon my gazing crept a storm. A dangerous devil that concealed himself within a blanket of clouds. I was fooled. I felt almost, almost safe. Safe within the sanctions of night.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="401" caption=""Upon my gazing crept a storm. A dangerous devil that concealed himself within a blanket of clouds.""][/caption]

How I dared to be so foolish, I'll never know. One thing for sure, was that as it came closer, ever nearer, I was asleep. Drifting in my everlasting ignorance. There was no doubt, I would sink. Drop into an inescapable pit, a void to never be seen.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="401" caption=""As it came closer, ever nearer, I was asleep.""][/caption]

My eyes slowly opened, just in time, to see the dawn of a new age. The once shattered sun, the once broken savior, was afire with glee and joy once more! There was no doubt, no ounce of suspicion that I had been saved. I had been deemed worthy to continue my venture. To set aflame those who hold greed and hate at their best!

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="401" caption=""The once shattered sun, the once broken savior, was afire with glee and joy once more!""][/caption]

No more would I doubt such power, such truth in the face of danger. My only loss, my only answer lost at see was how. How would I once more find deliverance, the deliverance of equity?

All-Purpose Cleaner
suggested uses

All-Purpose Cleaner
suggested uses: hard surfaces like countertops and kitchen floors, windows and mirrors

2 cups white distilled vinegar
2 cups water
20-30 or more drops of essential oil (optional)

Tip: Warming in microwave until barely hot will boost cleaning power for tough jobs. Only microwave in a glass container.

Creamy Soft Scrub
suggested uses: Use this creamy soft scrub on kitchen counters, stoves, bathroom sinks, etc.

2 cups baking soda
½ cup liquid castile soap*
4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin (acts as a preservative)
5 drops antibacterial essential oil such as lavender, tea tree, rosemary or any scent you prefer (optional)

Mix together and store in a sealed glass jar, shelf life of 2 years.

Tips: For exceptionally tough jobs spray with vinegar first—full strength or diluted, scented—let sit and follow with scrub.

Dry soft scrubs can be made with baking soda or salt (or combination of both) with 10-15 drops essential oil to scent

Furniture Polish
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
20-30 drops lemon essential oil

Shake well before using
(2 teaspoons lemon juice may be substituted for lemon oil but then must be stored in refrigerator)

Dip a clean, dry cloth into the polish and rub wood in the direction of the grain. Use a soft brush to work the polish into corners or tight places.

Tips: To remove water spots rub well with toothpaste. To remove scratches use 1 part lemon juice and 1 part oil, rub with soft cloth.

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Option 1

Sprinkle toilet bowl with baking soda, drizzle with vinegar, let soak for at least 30 minutes and scrub with toilet brush.

Option 2

Put ¼ cup borax in toilet bowl and let sit for at least 30 minutes. Swish with a toilet brush and then scrub. A few drops of pine oil can be added for increased disinfecting. (Note: some people are allergic to pine oil.)

Tip: Let ingredients soak for a while to make for easy scrubbing, especially on persistent stains like toilet bowl rings

Drain Opener

½ cup baking soda
½ cup vinegar

Pour baking soda down the drain and follow with vinegar. Cover and let sit for at least 30 minutes. Flush with boiling water.

Tip: Prevent your shower from clogging by using a drain trap to catch hairs.

Laundry Detergent

1 cup soap flakes
1/2 cup washing soda
1/2 cup Borax

Soap flakes can be made by grating your favorite pure vegetable soap with a cheese grater. Mix ingredients together and store in a glass container. Use 1 tablespoon per load (2 for heavily soiled laundry), wash in warm or cold water.

This standard recipe can be adjusted for soft water by using 1 cup soap flakes, 1/4 cup washing soda and 1/2 cup borax. For hard water, use 1 cup soap flakes, 1 cup washing soda, and 1 cup borax.

Note: Borax should not be ingested.

Tips: Add 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar to rinse as a fabric softener. For a whitener, use hydrogen peroxide rather than bleach. Soak your dingy white clothes for 30 minutes in the washer with 1/2 cup 20% peroxide. Launder as usual.

After agonizing over the decision for several weeks, the thoughtful Illinois Senator had to pass over popular, safe choices like Senators Hillary Clinton, Evan Bayh or Joe Biden and even Governor Bill Richardson due to personal baggage, policy differences and attention-addicted husbands. In the end, though, the man whose sole focus is change stayed true to his ideals with what could be politely described as a very unconventional choice. According to the campaign's text blast, the person standing next to Barack Obama at the triumphant conclusion to the 2008 Democratic convention will be none other than Santa Claus. Make your vote count by join Santa Social Network today.

[caption id="attachment_69" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="@http://santalivenow.ning.com"][/caption]

"After much deliberation, I selected someone who represents my feelings about this great country of ours," Obama said during the press conference later that day. "I chose someone imbued with the spirit of American idealism- someone who, much like myself, is entirely comprised of hope and belief and bright white light. America, all you have to do is believe, and you'll receive the present of a better future for our children along with tasty candy canes. Conversely, if you don't see a complete turn-around in the nation's domestic policy and image abroad, it's because you didn't believe enough."

As soon as the messages began flowing from campaign headquarters, pundits wrung their hands over whether Obama had made a good choice- or even a Constitutionally viable one. At first there was a great deal of doubt as to whether Claus could legally take the oath of office given his murky and often misunderstood background. Most people don't even think he's real, let alone an American citizen but as it turns out Kristoff Kringle was born in American-controlled region near the North Pole and thus has as much right to the Presidency as John McCain who came into this world on an Air Force base in Panama.

"Now that I've had a chance to think about it, Santa Claus is the perfect choice- why didn't we think of this?!" shouted MSNBC's Chris Matthews, a bit of foam forming at the corner or his mouth. "He neutralizes Obama's inexperience because he's technically about two hundred years old. And even his age isn't an issue like it is for McCain because Claus is, I believe, magical or something. Plus, he's Santa Claus for crying out loud. He's been buying votes one toy at a time since the AARP generation was in diapers."

Though it may not have been obvious from the start, there are some significant downsides to choosing the legendary Father Christmas as a running mate. First off, Claus represents a very specific religious holiday, and yet he is reviled among the evangelical Christian community for the secularization and commercialization of that same holiday. And thus the Obama/Claus team run the risk of excluding the millions of voters who aren't Christian and offending those who are.

And worst of all, Santa Claus is liberal as hell. His entire raison d'etre is built around the redistribution of wealth through gift-giving. In that sense, he makes Tedd Kennedy look like Strom Thurmond, not a good sign when you're trying to appeal to the centrist general public. Without a doubt, the conservative 527's are going to rip Claus to shreds between now and November. As a matter of fact, a new ad from a group calling itself Americans for America issued a web-based attack ad just moments after the announcement hit the mainstream media: "Santa Claus wants to raise your taxes, give aid and comfort to our enemies' children, and negotiate with terrorists. Is this what America really deserves?"

Then again, if Claus can help deliver universal healthcare and a better education system with a twitch of his nose, none of that will matter. Now that the shock has worn off a bit, the idea appears to be taking hold within the body politic. In the wake of the announcement, Obama volunteers reportedly fielded tens of thousands of calls and are now selling "Join Santa's Social Network '08" bumper stickers as fast as the elves can make them.

Man....I didn't really think I'd be here again! Parenting another teenager.

Before I pour out my heart to you, please join me in a cup of tea. I'm having a cup of White Swiss Truffle Rooibos from Teaporia. It's a favorite red tea of mine with bits of white chocolate and a hint of mint.

I was sitting in our dining room last night watching an incredible display of God's power in the form of lightening, which eventually sparked a fire in the distance. The way God communicates with us sometimes made me stop and think about the many countless ways we communicate with each other. Which got me thinking about how difficult my job would be as a foster parent once again. I've been parenting for 30 years now. I have more experience raising teens than anybody I have ever met. The newest addition to our family is our 9th, (yes, you heard right), teenager! Wouldn't you think I'd have all the answers by now? I guess, somehow, I thought I did. But God has to show me just how tiny and small I am, and how little I know. I am so humbled that He lets me take care of so many of His precious children. But without His strength and His grace there is no way I could possibly be doing this again. My friends, the Sibley's, (who are missionaries in Zambia and have adopted 5 children plus 1), are such great encouragers to us. But Beckie tells me often, (and she's not kidding), she'd rather raise 6 children in Zambia, than to try and take in one foster child in our American culture. There is so much going on in our country. American kids seem to be totally mesmerized by the media. The thing about having foster kids is that you don't get to start fresh. You get to take someone elses parenting mistakes and try and correct them. (As if parenting teens wasn't a hard enough job! )

There is no way I can tackle this subject in just one blog post. So I expect I'll be writing about his again in a few days. I am open to the comments and suggestions of others. I have learned a great deal in my years of parenting teens. But by no means do I know everything. Besides the world is changing so fast, so answers that may have been adequate 5 years ago, are hardly relevant anymore. Like for instance, can someone please explain to me why Jamie Lynn Spears is a celebrity? She had a baby, for crying out loud, at age 16. This is NOT who I want my daughter idolizing! If Nikki, (not her real name), had been my biological daughter, there wouldn't be a lot of information about Ms. Spears made available to my daughter. Well, actually I talk a tough game. But the truth is, I'm wondering how parents these days protect their kids from this immoral American culture that we live in. Even with my 30 years of parenting experience, I am at a loss for how to protect our new daughter. The other day, while we were sitting in the doctor's office she picked up a magazine with the Bradjolina family photo album plastered on several pages throughout the magazine. The photography was top-notch, I have to admit. But I'm just a little concerned at what American young people seem to think a perfect American family looks like. Brad and Anjolina aren't even married last time I checked. There isn't any commitment to stay together and parent all those kids under one roof till they part ways in death. How sad for those children to not have the benefit of parents who love each other enough to commit to making a covenant with one another. But my daughter flipped through those pages oohing and aweing at this image of a happy American family, along with 1,000's of other young women. What a disservice we do to our young people to make them believe that this new image of the American family is somehow a better and upgraded version of a traditional family. Why didn't they photograph the 6 nannies alongside Brad and Anjolina, since they're the ones doing all the dirty work!

How do I communicate with such a young and vulnerable child in a world that seems, (more than ever), to have gone crazy. How do I protect her innocence, and teach her to know and love the God that I serve? How can anybody know God these days when life is so noisy and so busy all the time? Young people these days seem to think cell phones are as important to their existance as oxygen. Yeah, never mind me having to tell her the story about having to walk to school barefoot in a blizzard to get to school everyday. All I'll have to say is "in my day, we didn't even have cell phones." She'll be shocked, no doubt, that I could have survived to be a such a healthy looking 50 year old grandma. Lord have mercy, I've got my work cut out for me!!

I find myself with few answers, but needing to rely on the power of Christ more than ever. One thing that hasn't changed in our household is that we have always insisted that our kids attend a Christian church somewhere. If not at our family church , than they need to find another place of worship. I got this piece of advice from my hero, Dr. Dobson, who says that too many parents choose not to fight with their kids over this issue. If you're a parent who believes in picking your battles carefully, make no mistake, this is one of the most important decisions in your childs life. Don't let them drop out of church while they are the most vulnerable to the tempations of our unholy society.

I may not be able to teach my daughter everything she needs to know in the 3 years I have with her here at home. But I trust she'll pick up on some pretty good teachings from me along the way. The role my husband plays in her life is huge as well. We try to model what a healthy marriage can look like. Dan also has worked very hard to be a good father to all the kids in our blended bunch. I thank God that most of our other children understand and accept the role of being older siblings who help, encourage and advise as well. Our church also plays a role in reenforcing our values and the things we believe in. I may not be able to protect our daughter from all the evils of American culture these days. But I have put into place a number of safety nets and layers of protection. All of these elements are for her benefit as she grows older and hopefully wiser in the years ahead. I don't think there really is any "safe place" to raise kids in America anymore. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna give up and quit trying to fight for their eternal rights.

Well, I've bent your ear enough for today. I have much more to say on this. Won't you join me again next week?

Blessings-

Men are born to succeed, not fail.

Men are born to succeed, not fail.
- Henry David Thoreau, American author, poet and philosopher (1817-1862)

Well, heck, that sounds simple enough.

So why doesn't it work?

Because to succeed, a person must have the tools to succeed and the attitude that the goal is possible. In other words, a person needs a good work ethic, something to do and the means to do it.

Easy again.

But most people settle for less than what they are capable of, then either overwork to benefit their employer or underwork in the mistaken belief that only partial success at work does not equal only partial success in life.

If the original statement is correct, then why are most people not feeling successful, fulfilled and personally complete?

We don't teach to success of the individual. We teach success for the nation. We teach that success for corporations is good. We teach that our working to keep corporations successful is good. We teach that spending every bit of income we get is good, that it should make us happy and keep the economy rolling.

But we don't teach to individual success. That is, we don't teach to success of the individual on a massive, nationwide scale.

What we do teach individuals is that they should have the skills to satisfy employers sufficiently that they will keep us employed. We almost never teach entrepreneurial skills because that would be counter to the benefit of corporations.

Ask most teens why they will continue with their education past high school and you will hear "so I can get a good job" more than any other answer. In other words, "so that I can get a good paying job." Hopefully, one that will not disappear when the employer downsizes because it has not forecast future markets correctly and has lost money, so needs to cut staff to show more profit or minimize losses to satisfy its shareholders.

We don't even teach our children what it means to be successful, other than that they will be happy being constant consumers. Which few are, really. Again, ask a teen what it means for an adult to be successful and the answer will most likely be related to a secure job with good income (with which to buy lots of stuff).

It's not my purpose to teach you what success is. I know what it is for me. But it took me a few decades of searching to learn.

You need to learn what success is for you. What it really is. What it really means to lead a fulfilling life.

Then teach it to every kid you know.

Schools don't do this. Their purpose is to train employees to be good workers and consumers.

Corporations control the curriculum. If you doubt this, check the name brands on all kinds of products in today's high schools and even in grade schools. Including in text books.

First you must learn what success in life really is. Then teach it to others, both adults and children.

How many people, on their deathbeds, have claimed that they should have worked harder or that they should have spent more of their money in order to make their own lives and the lives of their family members better? Corporations want us to believe that we should follow that line of unthinking.

Learn, then teach. It's what we are supposed to do. Corporations took that responsibility from us because we walked away from it ourselves.

When you teach children what is meaningful in life, don't report it to your employer. The employer won't like that. Just do it in private.

A recent study (actually several of them) showed that large corporations were set up to be sociopathological (amoral, capable of violence or spreading fear without feeling guilty). It's part of their corporate ethic.

This is the power that will control the destiny of your children unless you change what your kids believe.

If you don't like it, do something about it. Talk it up. Social change happens only when enough people believe that children should be taught differently. Every socially acceptable norm of today was once a radical idea. Then people talked about it.

So talk. It's easy.

Dateline: Sunday. Miramar, FL. 8:30 am. And it's GORGEOUS outside.

Looks can be deceiving.

South Florida -- Broward and Miami-Dade -- is now under a tropical storm watch. This means winds of 39 mph or greater are possible as soon as Monday afternoon. The Florida Keys are currently under a Hurricane Watch -- meaning winds even stronger are possible as soon as Monday morning.

This is a serious threat... and I strongly suggest you take advantage of this nice weather today to get your preparations finished by tonight.

Here's what's happening with Fay right now: The center of circulation barely grazed the southern coast of Cuba, meaning it will be able to spend some extra time over the extremely warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. That spells rather quick intensification throughout the day today... and Fay may be near Hurricane strength when it moves over Central Cuba tonight.

That critical turn to the north has begun... albeit slowly. Pay attention to the movement of Fay throughout the day... the quicker it turns to the NW and then NNW would be bad news for us. The more the movement remains WNW or even West would mean more distance between Fay and South Florida. Time will tell...

Now, onto preparations: What should you do? That, honestly, is a personal question that you will have to answer yourself based on your location, your physical home structure, and your past experience. I can, however, tell you this: Fay should NOT be as bad as Wilma for Miami-Dade and Broward residents. That said, Fay will LIKELY be worse than Ernesto, a tropical storm that gave us a glancing blow two years ago. Plan on lots of rain Monday, some tornadoes, and the chance of significant flooding (from rain, not storm surge). Winds will most likely stay below hurricane strength.

If you are in the Keys, it'll be a different story. Depending on the track, hurricane force winds (75 MPH +) are certainly possible as soon as Monday afternoon. It will be very wet, very windy, possibly tornadic, and storm surge will be a major concern on the southern side of the islands. If Fay strengthens more than currently forecast (which is entirely possible) and stays closer to the peninsula, the Lower Keys could have significant damage. Let us hope and pray that this does not happen.

If it were me (I'm working so my preps are done) -- I would stay informed through this afternoon... then employ your entire household to help you bring in lawn furniture and other loose objects into the garage. Look around your property -- do you see something that might move or be damaged by strong winds? If so, bring it inside. I'd always err on the side of safety.

Enjoy the Olympics coverage on NBC6 today -- and we'll be here ready to let you know if anything changes.

Be calm and be safe!

In a country like USA where there is a decent press, democracy and a vigilant SEC, the financial fraud culprits are brought to book quite slowly, if at all. What will happen to Indian customers who have been had? How does one react to the CEO of a foreign bank saying "we will make up our sub-prime losses by the fee income we receive in India and China". To me it sounds scary. Most foreign banks know KYA very well - "Cover Your Ass". So they will continue to sell high upfront fee products. Unfortunately given our press, our authorities, our lackadaisical attitude to bad sales pitch will ensure that Indian customers will get milked for far too long. That is sad. What set me off to write this post is the following news item from the AG in USA:

"JP Morgan Chase & Co. and Morgan Stanley have collectively agreed to return over $7 billion to investors who purchased auction rate securities under a settlement announced by New York State Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo.

The agreements settle allegations that JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley made misrepresentations in their marketing and sales of auction rate securities. "JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley marketed and sold auction rate securities as safe, cash-equivalent products, when in fact they faced increasing liquidity risk," according to a press release by the AG.

The Big Apple has been at the forefront of providing free or low-cost birth control, but it has not reduced pregnancies or abortions. Chris Slattery, founder of EMC Frontline Pregnancy Centers, says abortion has been higher in New York for four decades. He cites the most recent figures for abortions are "90,000 for the city limits in the last reported year - rates that approach 50 percent of all non-miscarried pregnancies ending in an abortion here."

Youngsters, he laments, have little chance to hear the abstinence message because only a few schools provide it. "The abstinence message here is just completely kaput here," Slattery explains. "Our mayor flooded our city last year with 26 million free condoms given out everywhere -- and it does not show that abortions are going down or pregnancies are going down."

Slattery contends the New York figures ought to send a message nationwide that the supposed "safe sex" message promotes promiscuity, while abstinence works.

In the past six months, the FAA seems to be pouring fines on America’s largest carrier, Americ

In the past six months, the FAA seems to be pouring fines on America's largest carrier, American Airlines. The latest is a $7.1 million dollar fine for safety violations, such as deferring maintenance and violating employee drug-testing rules. In some cases, pilots flew aircraft while being fully aware that vital gauges (altimeters) were not functioning. The carrier has already announced widespread job cuts, affecting hundreds of pilots and mechanics throughout their system. By removing mechanics, do they think that their aircraft will be more safe? Did it really take 1,300 aircraft mechanics to support all of the aircraft that American plans on axing? I don't think so.

American, like most carriers, is struggling; perhaps more so then competitors. Why? American is the largest operator of MD-82 series aircraft (242 currently active) and has 58 MD-83s. The MD-8X series of aircraft took off in 1979, selling hundreds of aircraft to customers across the globe. Another notable user in trouble is Alitalia, who has 73 of the series. Delta Air Lines also operates 117 of the series. A similarity between Delta and American is MD-8X, but they both seem to be replacing the series with the 737 series, which is great.

In April, this blog was not running. Many of you may remember when American had to cancel hundreds of flights, daily for a few days, to inspect the MD-80s (wiring for the wheel wells). The inspections apparently were called for back in 2006, but were mandated by 2008 when the FAA saw that the amendments to the aircraft were never completed correctly.

Let's go back to the FAA. American is based in Dallas / Fort Worth. Southwest Airlines is based in Dallas (love airport). There was a case where the FAA offices, in Dallas, were caught ignoring the $10.2 million dollars worth of fines for Southwest Airlines, following the events in April. Are the offices in Dallas that oversee the two separate? Were these rapid safety inspections / fines a result of someone LUVing Southwest too much? (not too hard to do these days). Maybe we need to see the two issues at hand separately. It's quite possible that one had nothing to do with the other. However there are no answers to support either.

I can't say I'm impressed with American. I'll be flying them soon and I'll be writing a review of my trip on the airline. However, what's up with the FAA Dallas offices? Are they still investigating the office? I'm not trying to bash American or anyone else. The 1,300 mechanics getting furloughed seems excessive, but so do gas prices. With the decline of oil, hopefully American will keep more mechanics; that will help ensure safety. There are many unanswered questions, perhaps too many. Unless the full story is out there, I don't think it's right to call American an unsafe airline. Yet pilots flying with broken altimeters is nonsense, and the FAA should fine the carrier for silly things, especially those that a pilot know not to do.
