Ok, I wasn’t exactly spying. I had a genuine interest in what the Network Solutions search eng

Ok, I wasn't exactly spying. I had a genuine interest in what the Network Solutions search engine marketing seminar presenter was going to say. I registered, under my own name and company email, so if the presenter reviewed the attendee list, I'm sure she knew I was there (and we are the area's most recognized SEO and Internet Marketing Firm). In fact, I'm pretty sure of it, because the one time I raised my hand (and held it up) the presenter refused to acknowledge my question! I wasn't nearly as surprised as the other attendees around me who kept looking at me, then her to see if she was going to acknowledge me....She did not until I finally uttered my question when she took a breather. ( full disclosure, I wanted to get her thoughts about the Google Adobe approach to making flash movies more searchable...she dismissed it quickly with no discussion...hmmm)

Most of the information was basic SEO education. However, I was alarmed by a few things.

First, she was sending people to their website to pay $37. for submission services. If you have ever attended one of my training classes or seminars, you know WHY I have a very strong opinion about website submission. (Hint: why would you pay for something Google tells you doesn't improve your chances or timing of being indexed?!?)

Second,She told her audience that they don't need keywords because Google doesn't read them. That may or may not be true at this very second in SEO history. However, given the ever-changing algorithms of Google, can she guarantee that they will never be weighed in search engine ranking? I think not! This is a terribly temporary position, creating high likelihood to fail over time.

Last, but not least...i realize many SEO's practice in the same way. However I doubt the unsuspecting attendees and potential new clients in the room really didn't understand that Google Adwords resellers will not have the same goals in mind as an organic SEO specialist, or the company itself. Keep in mind, the more pay per click campaigns they sell, and the more of their client's money they spend, the more they make. So, by hiring an Adwords Reseller, you should be aware that you are hiring someone who has an alterior motive in the search engine and PPC recommendations they make to you....they have more to gain financially when they get you to spend more with Google.

For the record, neither I or Karner Blue Marketing have a financial interest in Google Adwords. We ALWAYS put the best interest of our clients FIRST, ALWAYS. We take pride in providing white hat, ethical SEO services to our clients of every size.

Anything here surprise you? I'd love to hear from you!

Many of our customers come to us with the initial belief that since their business is all local, there is no need for online marketing. We know that this belief is the result of not having enough information about how the web works. Here are a few tips when considering marketing your business on the web.

Tracking

Are you tracking your current marketing efforts? Do you put advertisements in the newspaper, local magazines, radio or television? If so, how do you know those ads are working? Some businesses are very good at remembering to ask new customers where they heard about their business, however, most are not consistently tracking where their new customers are coming from. Online marketing is one effective way of tracking how a particular campaign is working.

Tracking your advertising campaigns can be done by creating a specialized website with a different domain from your normal site that is dedicated to the particular product or service that you are currently focusing on in your ads. You can create multiple mini websites or landing pages, each one aligning with one medium. For example, you are advertising a Wonder Widget and want to know which publication is giving you more bang for your buck. With publication Alpha you publish your website as www.wonderwidget.com and with publication Beta you publish www.wonderwidgetnow.com. Now you track how many hits you receive on each mini site over a given period of time. That will tell you how well your campaigns are doing.

Conversion

There is an old adage that says - a new customer will need to see your information 14 times before deciding to do business with you. There are also current statistics that say 85% of people between the ages of 16 and 65 will shop or pre-shop online. If your target market is in that age category, the web becomes a cost effective way of getting your customers to see your information frequently and compellingly. Most people do research toward new purchases online, even if they plan on going to the physical store to get the item or service.

When a potential customer is shopping for Widgets and checking online to see who carries them in their city, you want them to see your website explaining all about your widgets, where they are, how to get them, and how they will benefit from your widget versus Company B’s widget. With the right website, you can bypass the 14x rule by giving the customer, who is actively looking for widgets, the information they need in order to choose you – now.

Local people have a tendency to want to business locally. 85% of people in your local target market pre-shop online. If you’re not online with a site that can be found in a local web search, you’re missing out on more local business than you realize. If you want some straight answers on how your business can profit from local web marketing, call Suite 171 today at 701-478-5955.

Twenty-five cents of every dollars in today's advertising budget is spent on internet marketing, says a new report coming out of Great Britain.

This includes search engine marketing, search engine optimization, online advertising and affiliate marketing in Great Britain.

This is up from 11 per cent of budgets from two years ago and the average company has doubled its spending on internet marketing in the last few years, according to the report's author Dr Dave Chaffey.

The rapid growth rate is not expected to sustain itself but "For later adopters, spending could and probably should double over the next three years, particularly with the economic climate encouraging investments into more accountable, direct response digital media like paid search."

At any rate, according to the latest reports, spending on internet marketing is continuing to grow, despite budget cuts in other areas of advertising.

We like the focus on metrics - but are CPCs, clicks, impressions and conversions the most important thing to look after?

Managing PPC campaigns requires expert experience - since you are not dealing only with numbers, but people. So, as mentioned on the post, one summary of successful metrics would be:

Engagement
We don’t want only page views. We want loyalty, we want interaction. That’s engaging. People exchanging feelings with your Brand.

Reach
Are the people visiting your site from your target market? What proportion of your target has seen your site?

Bounce Rate
If the question is how to reduce bounce rate, the answer is targeting.

Segmentation

People are different, people are unique. And your Ads should be too!

Last week I attended part of the SEM for SMB (that's search engine marketing for small-to-medium businesses) conference here in Austin, both as an SEO writer and as an entrepreneur who has a few things to learn about search engine marketing. Though I was only able to attend the Thursday morning sessions, I learned plenty as a newcomer to this brave new SEM world. This week, I bring you conference highlights, starting with the first Thursday morning session:

Using SEO, Blogs and Social Media Together for Top Results presented by Mark Volpe

Mike Volpe, VP of Marketing at HubSpot spoke at Thursday's general session. Since the crowd was made up of marketing professionals and business owners, each speaker faced a bit of a challenge. The SEM practitioners already knew much of the material being presented, and many of the small business owners or staffers were beginners. Though I am familiar with a few SEM techniques, much of what I learned was new and gave me many challenges as a writer hoping to market her suite of services to a wider constituency.

Here are a few things I want to pass on from Volpe's talk:

Every company needs a blog. This is not only to help increase search engine ranking, but also to develop a personality to for your company or brand.

Companies that use videos on their homepages rank better in search engines. How can writers use this knowledge? Create a video detailing your suite of services, post it on YouTube or a similar video site and embed the video on your homepage. This also helps people associate a face with your brand.

Google your company's name or your name. Are people talking about you? Is it good? Then tell your blog readers and Facebook friends about it. You're not just promoting your product, your promoting all the chatter online about your product or service. Wanna see an example? Last week, I wrote about the Tillamook Cheese Macaroni and Cheese Contest on Foodie Friend Jen. Someone who works for Tillamook found the post and posted it on Tillamook's Facebook page. Now all of my readers who love cheese can visit the Tillamook Facebook page to read more about cheese, and the Tillamook readers can visit my blog. Woo hoo!

There are plenty of free tools available to help your brand become more prominent online. During his Thursday morning talk, Volpe mentioned blogging, StumbleUpon, Facebook, Twitter and Del.icio.us as free tools of the trade for any business wanting to become more visible. And, these tools can all work together. See the Tillamook Cheese example above. Also, Volpe generously broke down "The Day in the Life of Inbound Marketing" for the audience. One technique he introduced: Post a blog about a topic relevant to your industry, let all your Facebook and Twitter friends know you've posted the blog, then once someone else writes about your content, let your friends know about that as well.

Volpe inspired me to become more active in the social networks online. So far, I am on LinkedIn and Twitter, but in the next few weeks I will be experimenting with Facebook as well.

Stay tuned. Later this week I will bring you more goodies from the SEM for SMB Conference.

Many internet marketers are raving about the 100% sponsor match compensation plans. But I really d

Many internet marketers are raving about the 100% sponsor match compensation plans. But I really don't like that idea...why, when it is such great incentive for the sponsor to teach the new marketer how to make sales?

Quite simply, I think it is way to hard to sell a $3000 business when you are only getting a $1000 commission. The other two thirds go to your sponsor and the company, respectively.

Now, let's get into the Australian 2-up that makes Passport to Wealth such a rocking business: instead of asking someone for $3000, and only pocketing $1000, you are asking them for $1000, and pocketing $3000!

How on earth can that be? How can you make $3000 on a $1000 sale? With the Passport to Wealth 2-Up compensation plan, you keep 100% of every $997 sale. Not only that, but since your new member must pass up their first two $997 sales to you, that's about $3000 you are getting as a result of that one sale!

Now, that assumes that you have a duplicable system for your new members to plug into, like we have on the Mentors 4 U team. This assumes that you or your program leaders take the time to teach your new members how to build their business using Web 2.0, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, targeted email marketing, or numerous other advertising methods. But why wouldn't you? You have $2000 to gain from it!

Actually, that's not entirely true. You don't have $2000 to gain from it...because you see, with Passport to Wealth, when your new member passes up 2 sales to you...guess what? Those 2 sales are both going to have to pass up THEIR first two sales to you also! So that $2000 becomes a staggeringly vast potential that just multiplies exponentially!

So when you make a sale as a qualified Passport to Wealth Director, you earn a MINIMUM of $997, and NO maximum! Those $997 payments can just keep coming from each of these 'powerlines' of people passing up their first two sales to you!

So what's the catch? Well yes, you have to pass up your first two sales when you join Passport to Wealth. And some people have a problem with that. But what a SMALL price that is to pay for the perpetual leverage you get from a potentially-unlimited amount of sales being passed up to you!

And honestly, is it that hard to make 2 sales? If you aren't planning on making MORE than 2 sales, then this industry probably isn't for you. You should be planning to make hundreds of sales...and that means all but your first 2 will be passing up theirs to you!

So that is such a small sacrifice to pay for the staggering benefit that it gives you. THAT is why I like the 2-up compensation plan of Passport to Wealth, and that is why we are sticking with it in Passport to Wealth 2.0!

All the best,

Rob Hunter

Search engine success starts with SEO copywriting. It's the most cost-effective marketing tool around. You'll see a clear and rapid return on your investment in the shape of higher search engine rankings and more website traffic.

For REAL immediacy, of course, there's Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising. Whether this counts as SEO copywriting is a moot point, although PPC does rely heavily for its success on good keyword selection that relates to tightly configured AdGroups, well-optimised landing pages and keyword-focused small ads.

It hardly matters, but PPC is firmly rooted in the search engine marketing (SEM) stable. For purists who see SEO copywriting solely as a way to achieve higher website rankings, we have to be talking about optimised website copy, complete with appropriate keywords, meta tags and smooth, semantic syntax!

Other link-building tools which also draw on SEO copywriting skills include online PR and article marketing although, in this context, their SEO uses are focused on improving a website's search engine rankings.

For businesses looking to generate sales and qualified leads in the most straightforward and cost-effective way, SEO copywriting and the improvements it can make in organic search engine ranking make it an essential secret weapon in any marketer's armoury.

Resources:- SEO Services

Internet Marketing is a fascinating industry to be involved in. If you try to build Internet business of your own, you'll find that just because online now, it is not lighter than a conventional brick and mortar business.

Internet marketing is defined as all marketing activities on the Internet. These include lead-generation activities such as SEO and SEM, affiliate marketing, banner advertising and e-mails. Even more important Internet marketing and market analysis, benchmarking, performance measurement and Customer Relationship Management are important for every company.

When you consider all the things that in this paragraph, you see that it's much more to Internet Marketing and not just building a website and try to sell something.

Let's take a look at 5 Internet marketing tips you should consider when creating your Internet business.

1st Choose a product that people are currently in money. No matter how good an Internet marketer, you, if you are not a product that people have an interest and are currently in cash, you'll never make any money.

2nd Create a system that includes a website, auto-responder, and products that are available in different price structures last. This gives you the opportunity to build an e-mail marketing list for future follow-up, and the sales on your website. By offering various products at prices not enough for you any prospect that a potential customer gearbox.

3rd Become an expert on e-mail marketing. The best Internet marketers are people who build a mailing list for future follow-up. You will notice that most visitors are not buying from you on the first visit, so it is important that you follow-up for future sales. This is what your autoresponder be used.

4th Specializing in a form of Internet marketing traffic before you is another. Whether you choose to pay-per-click advertising, e-zine advertising, marketing articles, or any other method, it is important that you spend all your efforts begin to learn how an expert in this form of advertising.

One problem many people have it jump to try different things when it comes to advertising, and they never master. Most Internet marketers fail because they do not get enough quality traffic to create the sales they need to stay in business.

5th The last thing we want to point out the skills to an Internet marketer, so you have to educate themselves. This will be a continuous process, as the industry itself is always developed. You must do the same if you expect to thrive is an Internet marketer.

This is five Internet marketing tips, the difference between money on the Internet, or the task, what many people do. They are under control, because it is your own business, but your success will ultimately be determined by the skills and how hard you work.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a process of choosing the most appropriate targeted keyword phrases related to your site and ensuring that this ranks your site highly in search engines so that when someone searches for specific phrases it returns your site on top.

SEO basically involves fine tuning the content of your site along with the HTML and Meta tags and also involves appropriate link building process.

The most popular search engines are Google, Yahoo, MSN Search, AOL and Ask Jeeves. Search engines keep their methods and ranking algorithms secret, to get credit for finding the most valuable search-results and to deter spam pages from clogging those results. A search engine may use hundreds of factors while ranking the listings where the factors themselves and the weight each carries may change continually. Algorithms can differ so widely that a webpage that ranks #1 in a particular search engine could rank #200 in another search engine. New sites need not be "submitted" to search engines to be listed. A simple link from a well established site will get the search engines to visit the new site and begin to spider its contents. It can take a few days to even weeks from the referring of a link from such an established site for all the main search engine spiders to commence visiting and indexing the new site.

If you are unable to research and choose keywords and work on your own search engine ranking, you may want to hire someone to work with you on these issues.

Search engine marketing and promotion companies, will look at the plan for your site and make recommendations to increase your search engine ranking and website traffic. If you wish, they will also provide ongoing consultation and reporting to monitor your website and make recommendations for editing and improvements to keep your site traffic flow and your search engine ranking high. Normally your search engine optimization experts work with your web designer to build an integrated plan right away so that all aspects of design are considered at the same time.
