Min stol jag sitter på vid mitt skrivbord är ganska skön. Men jag skulle inte klaga om jag fick en ny. Så sist jag var på IKEA tittade jag på kontorsstolar, men insåg genast att de jag ville ha låg i helt fel prisklass för mig. Så jag får helt enkelt nöja mig med den stolen jag har nu.
Men kontorsstolar kan ju vara så otroligt sköna. Men då kostar de ju en hel del också. Och frågan är om det är värt att lägga pengarna på det.
Men sitter man på en stol hela dagen måste den ju vara bra om man ska orka.

När man jobbar framför datorn ganska mycket som jag gör så är det jätte viktigt att man sitter bra, är det inte skolarbete så är det en massa annat som ska göras. Och att göra det i en dålig stol ett antal timmar per dag påverkar ryggen allt annat är positivt.. Så tänkte investera i en bra stol hem, man kan ju köpa en riktigt bra där dom stäljer proffsiga kontorsstolar, dom håller ju ett bra tag och så är dom underbara att sitta. Visst kostar dom en del ibland, men det är ju värt det med tanke på hur länge som man kan ha dom.

We have one full week of Rob being back at school and Lia being at the baby-sitter. She was by herself for the first 3 days, then her friend Carly came back Thursday. Mrs. Jeri reported that Lia was good, but she kept stealing Carly's (who's 18 months old) toys. We fear that Lia may be a bully- but at least she didn't bite!

Lia has been standing for longer periods of time without holding on to anything, and she's into EVERYTHING! We can't sit here at the computer without her crawling up and trying to hit the keys on the keyboard. Currently she is beside me cleaning out our drawers in the living room.

I'll leave you with this messy picture- taken at dinner tonight. We had chicken broccoli alfredo- so she is covered with broccoli pieces. She even slurped some noodles into her mouth.

And this is Lia helping mommy clean the kitchen (she loves it when we run the dishwasher and she'll sit/ stand by it while it's running)

I can tell the season is aging by the light these days--the early morning pictures are getting awful and I will need to find a less convenient, better illuminated place. If you can see it, this is a Lilly Pulitzer polo, LL Bean skirt and lobster flip-flops. The skirt is absolutely falling off anymore; I wore it out to dinner two weeks after Caroline was born and it was almost too tight.

Dinner tonight: pan-seared salmon with zucchini, side salad, and something for dessert. Last night's dinner was quite good, and the Spanish Xarmant wine we opened to go with it was delightful: very dry with an effervescence that was almost like champagne, but there were no bubbles in the glass. It also seemed to have the alcohol content of absinthe, so that will be a good thing to remember next time.

Darian goes back for a last day at camp today, and we'll be interviewing a new sitter this evening. I thought that was a nice touch--she wanted to come and meet us before we called her to watch our children. She's a professional nanny looking for some occasional weekend work, and with my husband going back to school several evenings, I decided we needed to find some backup. She had the best references I've ever had for anyone, so I can't wait to meet her.

We had been pondering and praying about what to do with Lia once "daddy day care" is over for the summer. We received some good news that Mrs. Jeri is going to be keeping kids again, so we will be taking her back there, for this school year at least. She even lowered the price for us!! Talk about a blessing.

Bees, Bones and Stanley Tucci

I just saw that The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd has been made into a movie! I just read the book this spring and absolutely loved it. I can't wait to see the movie...I hope it is true to the book which is hard to say with movie adaptations of books. IMDB.com says its release is in October 2008 and that Queen Latifah is in it. I love her. She is an incredible role model for women of all ages.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is due out in October of 2009! It seems like I've been waiting for this movie for a long time. I was so excited when I heard Peter Jackson was making a movie version. I just added this book to the Good Reads page...I cannot believe I didn't have it there already. I listened to the audiobook which made it even more powerful in my opinion because it was as if Susie was speaking to you from heaven. UGH!! Stanley Tucci is playing the George Harvey; Stanley Tucci is such a great actor. How can you not love his work? One of my favorite movies of his is Big Night. It is about family, frustration and food. I just love the ending.

This week the kids are with grandparents, so A and I get a date!!! We NEVER hire a sitter which is terrible seeing as how I once gave A a gift of dates (lining up the sitter once a month for one year). I thought it was a good gift because my intentions were good, but as it turns out, I suck at lining up a sitter. Evidentially, I also suck at being in charge of the Netflix queue if you ask A.

So, we are going to a farmer's market, then to The Happening movie. I'm a baby when it comes to scary movies, so I'm hoping that I can watch some of it.
