I just saw "The Dark knight" today, and i must say it is good! the special effects and most importantly the storyline. Kudos to you Christopher Nolan! Bravo!

If you remember the part where Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) walks into the Hong Kong office of Lau (Chin Han) he is forced to surrender his phone. Well that phone coincidentally happens to be the unreleased Tube! (Congratulations Nokia for an ingenious product placement strategy) But I'm sure we all know that now. What it does is more exciting emitting high frequency pulses allowing you to see what is in the room, "like a sonar"-Bruce Wayne.
Fancy having that kind of technology in your cell phone. I wonder, how do you think it would help us?
For instance, A person would not require lights to see in darkness.
What applications can you think of?

Also what other zany things can you come up with?

I recently went on a trip to London, it was only 3 days, and as such, I can't really judge the people of London or their city to any fair degree of accuracy. But I'm going to do it.

5 Things I saw in London, which I found utterly hilarious.

1. A man being pick pocketed. Total hilarity, the twat didn't even notice, and quite frankly if you walk about like an aggressive cock, like most Londoners, during my stay, did, then you deserve it. His phone was stolen, and I lulzed. Hard.

You see, the sad thing is, if people hadn't been unapologetically bumping into me all day, as if the entire city was on their period I might have done something, perhaps alerted the man that he had just become a victim of crime.

But you know what?

I hold you all responsible for the actions of the few, if one cunt is aggressive or rude to me, you will all receive my spite, and judgemental, cynical, scorn because of it.

2. An Asian woman pushing an 8 year old over, on an escalator, without apologising, or even looking at her... Brilliant. Pure genius.

I literally masturbated over this hilarious mental image when I got home.

The look of pure hurt on that 8 year old's face as she fell head first into an escalator to have her hair mangled, her shins bloodied; brilliant.

The screams that came from that little girl as the escalator caught on her hair; they were like a symphony of delightful sadism to my ears that helped to wash away the aggravation that had become pent up inside me throughout the day..

I took great perverse pleasure in doing absolutely nothing but sitting back, and watching her little face slowly become drenched in a sea of tears, blood and torn out hair. She looked like she'd just been brutally ravaged, by a really sadistic priest.

I came a little.

3. A black man giving an Asian man racist abuse... Priceless. Words cannot even describe the sheer sexually overwhelming feelings of ecstatic joy I felt in my crotch region as I watched this masterpiece of degradation and irony unfold.

4. Drunks on bikes. You fuck-tards shouldn't be allowed drink, you can't fucking handle it, end of story. I saw 3 twats cycling down the wrong lane laughing hysterically drinking cans of premium larger. One fuck-tard crushing his skull between his hands, crouched on the floor crying outside a pub, around 5 bar fights, and God knows how many drunk girls passed out in corners (and yes, I did rape them all.)

5. An Englishman pick a fight with a drunk Irish man. Granted, I didn't so much witness this as I did start a fight, but still the point stands; utterly hilarious.

One Reason I will not be going back to London in the future. (And yes, I only need one.)

You're all very fucking rude. You don't queue for anything, everyone's in a rush, nobody says sorry for pushing or shoving or bumping into you, your train carriages can be likened to being in the position of a Jew in a gas chamber, only the Ziclon B is the fat fuck sitting next to you's body odour, you're all really fucking loud, all the fucking time. Your accent is so so grating that it can only be likened to driving a circular saw through the side of my face. Nobody says thank you to bus drivers, you're basically all loud, obnoxious, cunts.

Fuck you and your city. Actually, in all fairness, I do quite like your city, I just fucking hate your people.

I hope the rest of England isn't such a raging disappointment for me.

Tuesday I met my sister for a drink in my favourite little bar on the edge of soho. I like it because it's fairly quiet during the week and they have nice red candles.

Anyway as for the rest of the week I have some design time planned to finish up some of the things I've been daydreaming about making over the past week or so. I dedicated this morning to making up some new patterns which went well so hopefully by the weekend I should have some new stuff made up and available to post.....

If I leave Vagabonds (a goth club near London Bridge) after midnight these are my travel options according to Travel for London. The last tube is a few minutes after midnight. For a cosmopolitan city, London really does shut up early. Some clubs like Vagabonds are open until 3, but how do people get home? I suppose they wander the streets for three hours until the first trains leave in the morning? When I put in "show me routes with the fewest interchanges" the first return routes began at 5:30 in the morning, even though I put in midnight. So basically TFL is telling me to stay in the club until 3am and then sit on the banks of the Thames, etc. until 6? There aren't even 24 hour diners in London where you can nurse some coffee and greasy eggs at 3am. If you have a group of friends I suppose you could split a cab, (last time I shared a cab the ride to Hanwell was £75.) Or brave the night buses as a posse, but as a woman traveling alone it's just a bit impossible. The last time I braved the night bus it never showed up. I waited for over an hour in an abandoned Sloane Square at 2am for the N11 which never came. I finally hailed a cab which cost me £28.

Better stay home.

Let me hear a cheer of unsurpassable joy - I looked under something - I looked under something else

Let me hear a cheer of unsurpassable joy - I looked under something - I looked under something else - I stubbed my toe, swore, kicked something, dislodged it from it's precarious perch atop some more somethings - and there it was.....the elusive cable. Horay!

And there was uploading, and there was computer crashing, and there was some stomping and huffing and sulking - and then there was blogging. Horay for blogging. And tea.

I'm not going to do this in any particular order - I'm just going to post, comment, laugh, eat biscuits (you can't have any - they're hard to share over t'interweb) and post what I suspect is going to be a picture-tastic uberblog. You might want to pop to the loo before you carry on. Not because I think I'm going to be particularly funny (though I am a comedy genius, topped only by my brother - who is of course better at everything than I am. Apart from shopping. Actually, no - I think he has me beat there too! Wonder if he ever did go back and get those shoes in grey as well as brown...apparently they were the most comfortable shoes ever and, in his own words, "Like walking on a cuddle"!) but because you may be here some time and I wouldn't want to cause any long term damage to your kiddleys (kudos to "Finance Guy" at work for that)

I was walking (crawling, in exhausted long commute type manner) tubewards after work a few days ago when I saw this fella jogging along; bizarrely shaped muscley men are always odd to look at - it being unnatural and a bit gross - but it's even more wierd when they're running and pulling a little old lady-type shopping trolley along with them!

then once I staggered onto the tube I saw that I was far from being the only one shattered and making the journey

There's always at least one person fast asleep on one train or another.
Bumble and I were on our way home from somewhere or other - my fatigued brain forgets where - and there was a rather portly gentleman, all suited and booted, snoring his head off loudly and sound asleep - we were a bit worried he might miss his stop and did try to wake him but he was having none of it! Hope he made it home eventually...

One of the things I detest most about public transport is morons. They come in many forms and everyone who's ever had to share their mode of transport with a single other person will have come across countless morons; the worst are the ones who stop right at the top of the escalator (DON'T TUT AT ME - HOW COULD I AVOID WALKING INTO YOU - THE GROUND I'M STANDING ON IS MOVING AND YOU AREN'T! MORON!) the ones who don't know how to work the barriers at the station or who forget to get their ticket out their purse until they're standing RIGHT in them, thus blocking it for everyone behind them and causing a big queue of people, all of whom are determined to stand on my feet - and once you're on the train, the idiots who use their horrible tinny sounding mobile phones to play their chav music out loud for everyone to "enjoy" causing potentially good tunes to sound like Alvin and the Chipmonks on speed.

Such as this fellow.

I think the woman sitting opposite me would quite gladly have used his mobile to carve off all of his limbs by the time she reached her stop. She was certainly doing her jaw some damage grinding her teeth so much.

You see all kinds of 'alternative' people in London (specially in the fun bits like Camden and Brick Lane and actually anywhere there are markets) and I wish I could get photos of all of them. I wish I'd got a photo of the purple girl - hair, clothes, make up, shoes, giant fake eyelashes, every single piercing - and there were a lot - and braces on her teeth, all purple, it made your eyes hurt to look at her! I did get a photo of this girl's hair and liked it because of it's stripeyness.

Energy flagging...chocolate break...all is well.

I love catching people who are into fashion and who really go for it when they follow what they're told to - I have no idea where to find half the things I see people wearing - and I liked this girl (who also smelt lovely) because she was so colourful, which in rush hour heading into work in the city makes a nice change from the sea of monochrome (including, for the most part, people's skin due to utter exhaustion and tube-smut)

Fighting for your own space on the tube is never easy either - I wouldn't mind so much if it weren't so hard to find something to hold on to - they're rather bouncy on starting and stopping and it makes you fall over, which is embarassing AND means that everyone around you HATES you because you've sat on them or touched them or got too close to touching them - so you have to elbow your way to the few places you can cling to then stand there with some moron (I believe I've mentioned the morons?) hitting you in the face with the paper he insists on reading even though there's no space to hold it up without taking out some eyes...

This here

Is a station I wouldn't normally have seen - nor would The Bumble, had I not rushed us onto the wrong train in a panic thinking we were running late. In the end we were quite late - because we went comletely the wrong way but were so hooked on our sudoku that we didn't realise until quite some time (and distance) had passed. Go Jelly! (I am refusing to accept that I'm one of those morons...though I'm getting closer to being one!)

I love shoes - I love high heels - and I do tend to spend a lot of my time eyeing up and lusting over all the nice shiny shoes the London girls are wearing - and I was very impressed with these ones; not only with the fact they were rather lovely but, more importantly, that their wearer - a rather lovely looking young lady in something of a hurry - was practically sprinting in them. That takes some dedication.

Then we come to today.
Today I had to share my public transport (and my very limited and fiercely protected personal space) with smelly people.
How hard is it? Take a shower. Sponge bath? Squaddie shower would do! Just please, please, please don't be stinky in my personal space - it makes me want to ralph all over your feet!

I'm pretty sure there's a whole lot more to add - but I can't think any more and I'm out of chocolate so I'm going to have to go on the search for some real nutrition.

Love, and all that jazz

Jelly

[audio="http://www.goear.com/files/sst4/855d26c061cc57dbc6ec79de591daa9f.mp3"]

Now we all know that the S60 is coming with a touch based UI very soon. Symbian-freak.com has managed to get a few shots of the supposedly new UI. The good news? Well the screen is huge.
The bad (depends on how you look at it) there is little change in the way it looks as compared to the current S60.

Also Nokia has made it clear that it does not want to compete in the high end market, where iPhone is competing currently. Instead it is going to do what it does best, flood the market in the middle segment. Interesting how companies think!

To The Nokia Suits

You have given the world some of the best mobile phones available out there but sometimes, the phones you release are just not up to the mark. You have recently announced the up and coming Nokia "Tube" or as some would call it the "Nokia 5800 Tube". Some say it could be the iPhone killer. Others have doubts.

As an Apple fanboy myself, I can't wait to get my hands on the new iPhone 3G. However, I do own several Nokia phones such as the N95 8Gb, the N82, the E61, the E51 and other models that I can remember. Your phones are great because the Symbian UI is one of the best there is out there.

When you are ready to launch the "Tube", please keep this in mind:-

Make sure the phone is compatible with Mac users on launch

iSync and Nokia Multimedia Transfer are great but we want the full suite (Look what Palm did for the Mac)

Release a Nokia Software Updater version for the Mac

Include Mac OS compatible software in your bundled CD

Carbide and Carbide.ui are great tools for theme designers and content developers working on a PC but there are lots of talented Mac users out there who will never be able to showcase their work and most of us prefer not to run Parallels, VMware Fusion or Boot Camp just so we can develop using Carbide. It's a workaround but a hassle. Not everyone out there owns a fast machine and some of us do not want to buy Windows just for Carbide or the Software Updater.

So Nokia, or anyone who is in any way connected to the suits and decision makers in Nokia, come up with proper Mac support for your "new" device and maybe, just maybe some of us die-hard Apple fanboys will start queuing up and throwing money at you for the Tube.

I still want the new iPhone 3G badly. Prove me wrong Nokia.

As promised, here's the recap from the Saturday morning bike ride:

I'm a jumpy person so when my alarm goes off, I leap out of bed. Normally, I wake up a little before my alarm to prevent this, but not today. I was tired. I reluctantly got ready and the nerves set in. Do I really want to do this? Why am I doing this? I don't know what I'm doing. Being stubborn and forcing myself to be busy on this day, I finally get ready and get in the car with the bike in the back seat. I do a drive-by and see a couple of older people in the parking lot and someone who appears to be a woman driving in. I keep driving. After sufficiently wasting time and leaving myself no other choice, I park. I get out and meet a couple people. Thankful that the ride will not consist of me and old men! Instead, the ride will be me, older women and older men. Yeah, I feel young. After a sign-in and debriefing, we're off. I quickly learn the terms "Car back," "bike back," "hole," ect. Some people are chatty, but most focus on biking and enjoying the ride. Plus, the sometimes single file arrangement does not lend itself well to conversation. We maneuver around lakes, parks, trails, and even a waterfall. At around mile 15 disaster strikes. My worst fear is realized. I get a flat tire and of course I haven't brought the necessary tools or extra tube required. Thankfully, a super kind lady lets me use hers while two very informative men change the tire. I am "lectured" about how I need to ALWAYS carry a tube, buy a floor pump, buy a topeak pump to go on my bike, and to pump up before EVERY ride. Yeah....I was a tad naive in terms of bike maintenance. Now to go spend some more money :) After my bike was back in working condition, we met up with the others and ate breakfast before heading home the last 4 miles. All in all, a great learning experience and an interesting time :)
