Today my task was to write a letter to a serial killer. I chose Ted Kacynski because I asked Anthony "Which serial killer should I write a letter to?" and he replied, "Ted Kacynski." So, here we are.

I looked up Ted on wiki and was surprised by some of the facts that I read. Did you know he went to Harvard and has a PhD in Math? He was also a professor at UCBerkley. You probably did know that, but I was 13 when he was outed as the UnaBomber, so I only remember some of the facts. Anyways, here's my letter which I will actually mail to him. Also, apparently all of his correspondence goes on display at a museum, so maybe my letter will end up there.

"Dear Ted,

They say there's a fine line between genius and insanity. I guess you crossed it, which is sad because from what I've read you were a freaking genius. Do you ever wish you had taken a different path and gone on to become the world's greatest mathematician instead of a notorious bomber? I guess you were already pretty successful, I read that you were one of the top ten mathematicians in the world. Who knew success could make people go nuts? Maybe this just means that we should all avoid Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. They might crack at any minute, and consider the devastation they could cause! Anyways, I know you wanted to make some sort of point, but it sucks that you had to hurt innocent people to do it. You never knew who would open your package and what good they could have done in the world had they not been the unfortunate recipient of your devastation. I do have some questions. First, I noticed that you waited 6 years between bombs once. Why did you do that? Why didn't you bomb all the time? Were you waiting for some sort of inspiration? Also, why did you decide in 1995 that your manifesto needed to be published? Why not back in 1987 when you started? Did you just get bored? It sort of blows that your brother turned you in. It sounds like his wife was the one who initially suspected you. You probably don't like her very much, do you? Maybe you never offered to bring anything when you were invited to dinner at their house and she was annoyed, so she started accusing you of being the Unabomber, and it just so happened to be true. One last question, what's with your hair in your booking photo? Did they raid your cabin while you were sleeping or something, or does the "naturalist life" not lend itself to combing ones hair? Anyways, Ted, I agree with you about one thing. Technology does lead to decreased privacy. I'm pretty sure that Google is the anti-Christ, but let's just keep that between us. Sincerely, Heather"

Oh, day 11's task was to decide what type of person I am attracted to. I am attracted to the Brad Pitt type- all American with a cute smile. Not very original, I know, but hey, I married an Arab which is the opposite, so I guess I'm just a lover.

Anche le successive non deludono: nella seconda il misterioso incidente di un autobus di studenti che impegnerà Veronica per tutta la serie, mentre nella terza e ultima l'omicidio del rettore e un video scandalo di cui è protagonista.

Ris Delitti Imperfetti. Quattro serie una migliore dell'altra a mio avviso, ma sono di parte il telefilm è indubbiamente tra i miei preferiti. La prima serie che tra i diversi casi gira attorno a unabomber, così come la seconda. Nella terza un serial killer che sconvolge le vite dei Ris da acciuffare e nella quarta delle diciottenni verranno ammazzate barbaramente da un altro seriale.
Nicole Grimaudo speravo rimanesse fino all'ultima serie, mi è sempre piaciuta molto, sicuramente più di Romina Mondello.
Filippo Nigro pure l'avrei voluto per tutte e quattro le serie, è assolutamente fantastico, ma han compensato bene con Fabio Troiano.

I definitely scared the parents in my attempt to seem function-able, however my swiveling appendages and living dead appearance must of frightened them off. After question one thousand and one they knew it was no longer worth their breathe to ask. Most of the time I would stare at the course and pretend I was busy watching the imaginary boats row by. The lack of physical boats must of made me look even more zombie-like with my glazed over eyes entranced by the motionless water. This would be sure to scare any happy go-lucky parent away.

As they walked away I am sure thoughts of "Who is this? and Why is she wearing Mountain Lakes crew attire? What happened to Laura that nice knowledgeable crew coach? My B I was McCoyling up last night and forgot to sleep, however the veggie chips were exceptional specifically the taro sticks and the green beans.

Although, they will still address me with the same kindness while thoughts run through their minds that say otherwise. Oh well, I will just pretend they still genuinely like me. Its just a few more weeks anyways. In any case, I deserve higher regard despite my lack of extreme niceness. They are totally absurd and have no grasp of reality.

By the end of the regatta I had said so many ridiculous uncertain comments that I was absolutely CERTAIN my time on the bus to NJ would soon be over. Seemingly simple questions such as: What heat is this? When are the boys coming down? made me very nervous since:

A. I did not have a heat sheet nor did I feel the need to go pick one up, since my body would not cooperate anyways. There would be 1000 heat sheets flying into the motionless waters.
B. Any knowledge of what event number the boys were in or the girls for that matter
C. The fact that the regatta was running between 20-30 minutes off schedule depending on the event. However, this would later work in my favor to legitimize my completely ridiculous responses.

Most times I would respond with "They are coming down soon we just sent them off for the warm-up" and disregard the definitive response portion of the question (heat/time). Sometimes I would respond with a total guesstimate based off a very complex math equation I would add exactly 21.43274328 minutes to whatever the clock read on my wrist or whatever I thought it read. Sometimes I was off by a good hour (the numbers are very hard to read) all in the hopes that the fact that they were behind schedule would justify my guess regardless of how absurd it was.

Fortunately, through the duration of the day I spent maximum time by the trailer with the boats (they don't question me) instead of the tent with the parents to assure that I did not explode with verbal diarrhea more often than was necessary. I saved that for the kids and I am pretty sure they think I am either INCREDIBLY funny or EXTREMELY crazy or anywhere in between.

Eventually, all the boats made it down the course and we packed them up, well the kids did- not me. I would of dropped them for sure my hands were totally not cooperating with the mental commands being shouted at them.

We start driving at about 6pm. The traffic is horrendous. I feel ill. Very ill. Hot and cold flashes. Nausea. Light headed spinning fits. I am pretty certain I am in for another panic attack. Liz's horror stories about deaths and illnesses do not help.

Fortunately, I survived. We made it back to Mountain Lakes at roughly 10pm when I hopped on the 10:20 bus to NY getting me back to my place right before midnight. After a short walk through Harlem- the AC/BD is so much faster than the 123. At that point safety was NOT an issue. Luckily, I did not turn into a pumpkin or get murdered and/or raped. I crashed into my beds and somehow woke up by 7 to get to work phew.

Little did I know that TBG would nearly kill me by the close of the day when I found myself without any prior knowledge kicking an hp printer toner (cyan) into the side of a dumpster. This is standard procedure in Harlem many people kick stuff into the side of dumpsters particularly infants, so it didn't feel too off the mark. I guess that's how murders are born. Slowly, once seemingly insane feats become commonplace as one becomes acquainted to them. I hope I'm not on the road to becoming the Unabomber. Watch out for flying toners or whatever is next.

Del suo articolo mi è piaciuto soprattutto questo passaggio a cui probabilmente non ha dato il risalto che merita in quanto secondario rispetto all'obiettivo del suo post, ma che invece voglio riprendere io: "....alzando il volume della tv che ci sta propinando i maniacali dettagli di qualche tragedia che sarebbe meglio non raccontare per non indurre in emulazione."

La spettacolarizzazione causata da esigenze di bilancio e di audience può essere tollerata quando si raccontano avvenimenti di cronaca leggera, di gossip, di politica, di sport e quant'altro. Quando oggetto del racconto sono invece fatti di cronaca nera le esigenze di sponsor dovrebbero essere in qualche modo messe da parte a tutela della sicurezza pubblica contro tentativi di emulazione, spesso compiuti da menti già instabili che trovano nell'emulazione di un gesto che ha 'meritato' le prime pagine dei giornali una via breve e 'collaudata' per balzare anche loro ai macabri onori della cronaca.

Credo che tutti noi abbiamo il sacrosanto diritto ad essere informati su tutto ciò che ci accade intorno, ma faccio fatica a capire l'utilità di spiegare per filo e per segno come determinati gesti criminali sono stati pianificati prima ed eseguiti poi, entrando nei minimi particolari e con tutta la documentazione a corredo.

Nella società dell'apparenza e della visibilità a tutti i costi, entrare nei minimi particolari delle notizie di cronaca nera può costituire il manuale dettagliato per scellerati gesti emulativi che mettono in serio pericolo il diritto alla sicurezza di ogni cittadino. Mi riferisco, solo per fare rapidi esempi di cui tutti conserviamo memoria, a casi come unabomber in cui non si sono risparmiati dettagli sul confezionamento degli ordigni utilizzati, oppure agli episodi in cui si spiegava come fosse possibile introdurre sostanze nocive nelle cassette di acqua in un supermercato dopo gli episodi di avvelenamento che hanno visto vittime alcuni ignari consumatori, o ancora come venivano pianificate nel dettaglio le incursioni dei criminali decerebrati che lanciavano sassi dal cavalcavia. Senza entrare nel merito dei veri e propri manuali per l'adescamento di minori allo scopo di compiere pratiche sessuali pedofile forniti senza alcun ritegno su reti televisive nazionali. Se riflettiamo bene, e tralasciando solo alcuni casi di psicosi collettiva, spesso alle notizie di questo tipo date con dovizia di particolari, seguono casi analoghi frutto di palese emulazione.

Non voglio certo dire che le colpe del reiterarsi di questo tipo di tragici avvenimenti sono solo della tv di disservizio o di giornalisti privi di scrupoli che forniscono particolari su cui sarebbe eticamente e moralmente meglio tacere. Sarebbe stupido e semplicistico. Tuttavia, è indubbio che fornire particolari gratuiti che nulla in più aggiungono ad una corretta, completa e soprattutto leale informazione contribuisce a scatenare istinti emulativi che potrebbero essere tranquillamente evitati, salvaguardando la salute e, in alcuni casi, la vita alle ignare vittime dell'emulazione stessa.

As the media prepares to launch another blitz of gun control propaganda in the wake of the Northern Illinois University shootings, it's no surprise to learn that killer Steven Kazmierczak had been taking psychotropic drugs and that the campus was a victim disarmament zone - the two major factors which always breed this kind of tragedy.

Columbine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, as well as 15-year-old Kip Kinkel, the Oregon killer who gunned down his parents and classmates, and Cho Seung Hui, the Virginia Tech killer, were all on psychotropic drugs. Scientific studies proving that prozac encourages suicidal tendencies and psychopathic behavior in young people are voluminous and span back nearly a decade.

Jeff Weise, the Red Lake High School killer was on prozac, "Unabomber" Ted Kaczinski, Michael McDermott, John Hinckley, Jr., Byran Uyesugi, Mark David Chapman and Charles Carl Roberts IV, the Amish school killer, were all on SSRI psychotropic drugs.

The press has tried to spin the fact that Kazmierczak was known to be on the same drugs by pushing the line that he was off his medication. Whether as a result of side-effects or during actual use, psychotropic drugs are admitted to increase psychopathic behavior in young people, read any bottle of prozac and you will see this fact freely admitted.

Gun free campus zones, as was the case again at Northern Illinois University, contribute only to ensuring victim disarmament and a friendly environment for the killer to conduct his rampage unopposed.

The media automatically blame the second amendment whenever a school shooting takes place, but when law-abiding people are allowed to own guns, the fatality toll is always reduced, as was the case at Virginia Appalachian School of Law, where Peter Odighizuwa shot three people dead before other students were able to retrieve guns from their cars and put an end to the carnage before there was more bloodshed.

85% of Americans support the right of a principle or a teacher to have instant access to a safely stored firearm in order to defend the lives of students and prevent a school massacre, but a drive is already underway to disarm more victims and grease the skids for more horrors similar to what unfolded on Thursday.

Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago has already seized on the tragedy for the political purposes of pushing gun control, asserting Friday that the incident provides the latest evidence gun control legislation is needed.

The shootings coincide with an imminent Supreme Court decision on whether or not to overturn the handgun ban in Washington DC, a case that could set the precedent for other cities with strict gun control. Many in the past have noted that school shootings almost always closely precede important legislative gun control cases.

Before serving in the Army for six months, Kazmierczak intended to build a career in the criminal justice system.

"I really believe in the cliche now that the further I go in college, the less I realize I know about a multitude of subjects," he wrote. "All I know is I want to work in the [criminal justice system] in some capacity; as a social worker or as an overly litigious advocate of prisoners," said Kazmierczak.

They "discovered" a new "disease" and are calling it Oppositional Authoritarian Disease. When a kid contradicts a teacher or talks back to his parents for being bigots, they will now diagnose that child with OAD.

CNN gave a 2 hour time slot to "Special Investigations Unit: The Criminally Insane." I titled the post I wrote about it: "CNN: Criminally Inane," I still think that is clever.

I can't help but think I will be misinterpreted. Let me clarify that Justifying Murder Is Defending Stupidity. I am by no means justifying anyone else's actions, I am only trying to understand why these [intelligent] Human Beings did what they did.

Unfortunately, like in the case of Theodore Kaczynski, the focus is put on the death, tragedy, and the gruesome facts of their actions. I read multiple accounts claiming there was no motive, I heard multiple people asking for my prayers, and saw videos of mothers crying "Why!?"

It is the forth shooting at a U.S. education establishment within a week. Last Friday, a woman shot dead two fellow students before killing herself at Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge. In Memphis, Tennessee, a 17-year-old is accused of shooting and critically wounding a student on Monday. A 15-year-old was shot at a junior high school in California on Tuesday.

American Society is not doing well. That fact is hardly debatable, that is what I interpret their motives as. "Wake up!!"

Seung-Hi Cho [isn't it strange to reference these people by their names?] left massive amounts of media to explain why he committed indiscretional murder. I am sure most people only saw his angry Non-Coherent video, and judged him to be a crazy.

He sent a media package to NBC. Searching through the internet I could not find a kilobyte of information that was in his own words. If you search you might come across this paragraph on NPR citing the fact that it happened, but not much else can be found.

During the April 24, 2007 edition of the Oprah Winfrey Show, NBC News President Steve Capus stated NBC decided to show two minutes of 25 minutes of video, seven of 43 photographs, and 37 sentences of 23 pages of written material and 5 of the 23 PDF files that were last modified at 7:24 a.m.

Media make Cho into whatever they want us to see.

He was crazy, but he still made some points that the media did not address whatsoever. NPR had a few clips from Cho describing the materialistic stupidity that surrounded him.

How can I possibly agree with Seung-Hi Cho or Theodore Kaczynski on anything? Because I heard what they had to say!! I did not just watch CNN and the other crap that is on television.

I did not get riled up by the issues of gun control and racism. Symptoms that this society is exhibiting indicate deep problems. Racism and Prejudice being prime symptoms of a blatantly Stupid society. Uncontrollable drug use, sex, and violence being reactions to a flawed Materialistic system.

Let me refocus.

We should not try to understand this kid, just like we should not try to understand any of the other worldly problems that the media shelters American Consumers from.

Kaczynski sent a letter on April 24, 1995 to The New York Times, promising "to desist from terrorism" if the Times or a similarly respected news journal would publish his manifesto, it was published, and I read it.

His specialty was a branch of complex analysis known as geometric function theory. His dissertation won awards, "I would guess that maybe 10 or 12 people in the country understood or appreciated it", said Maxwell O. Reade, a retired math professor who served on Kaczynski's dissertation committee.

Technology and society have made it very easy for us to sustain ourselves [food, water, shelter]. This leads to a lot of free time. Free time leads to boredom, which leads to a lot of things including excessive pleasure-seeking, overeating, low self-esteem, guilt, anxiety, sleep disorders, and eating disorders.

Does that sound like a Big-Pharma commercial to you? 2 Trillion dollars from the federal budget Each Year goes towards health care [the overall United States budget is about 14 Trillion dollars a year]. 33% of that 2 Trillion dollars goes FOR PROFIT to Big-Pharma and the the health insurance companies. FOR PROFIT.

Students are scared to go to class.

Pill Popping, Ingrained Fear and obedience to the High Definition Propaganda Panel make us nothing more than Domesticated Animals.

Maybe we should pump all the Steven P. Kazmierczaks and Seung-Hi Chos full of drugs and sedate them into non-existence. But who discovers the unstable, determines the symptoms, and distributes the treatments?

I am sure Big-Pharma is already on top of that.

A discussion of Conrad on Start the Week this morning, compared current nihilistic tendencies with those depicted in The Secret Agent [e-text]. 3 Quarks (my once a week check up) mentions a Guardian article, The Moral Agent, by the very man who was on the radio, Giles Foden.

Conrad hits the 150 year mark. The Secret Agent was written/published in 1907.

ultimamente sembra che le indagini in Italia non arrivino mai ad
