So infrequent use of keywords will make visitors skip over a web site, even though it might contain relevant information. Today i`ll do this:

First make a new page 500x500. Make a Square with rectangle tool (to make it perfect hit shift while doing it) with this color overlay:

Tip: To make the shape vector select "Shape layers" from the rectangle menu :

Next duplicate the square layer and apply color overlay to it:

Then skew the new square like this:

Next, duplicate the first layer and move it under all other layers. Apply color overlay to it:

Now duplicate the second layer too and move it under the other layers too, then apply color overlay to it:

Your box should look like this:

Now, duplicate the right side layer of the box, resize and rotate it until you get this:

To fit it with the box just warp it:

Until it looks like this:

Warp it until it looks real.

Duplicate this layer and move it to the other side. Rotate and warp it until it fits. My box is looks like this:

This box is vector so it can be resized and it will not loose quality. You can add a shadow or a reflection to it but it will not be vector any more. I added a shadow to the right side like this and it looks more realistic:

1. Open a new document 500x40px and fill it with black.

2. Draw 5 straight lines similar to these() measuring 1 px in height on the top of the canvas(on a new layer).

3. Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool and draw a shape similar to this one and then right click -> New layer. Fill this new layer with the following gradient:

4. Do the same rectangle shape again above this one but under the lines that were made at 2. and fill it with this gradient:

Draw a small rectangle shape with the Rectangular Marquee Tool, create a new layer as in the previous procedure and then go to Select - Modify - Smooth - 1px and after that Layer - Add layer mask - Reveal selection. After doing that right click on the layer in the layer palette and select Blending Options. Use the following options:

6. You can now duplicate the shape and add text and maybe an icon to it and you have a modern menu.

Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape tool. Select direct selection tool and distort the rectangle.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.

Similarly create more rectangles.

Select and merge all the layers. Duplicate the layer and change the layer mode to "Multiply" and opacity to 50%.

Create another vertical rectangle as shown using same technique.

Select and merge all the layers. Select dodge tool with 2 pixels brush settings.

Apply some stroke to create rope as shown.

Apply it again to from different angle.

Create some grass shapes using custom shape tool.

Type "home" using a nice font. Rotate and place as shown. Fill it with black color.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.

Similarly insert other links too..

Today i will show you how to create another game layout with an unusual shape. I will try to teach you as many methods i can to create unique layouts.

This is the Tutorial Number 86 from our 100 Tutorial Marathon
Soon this marathon will end, and i will start another one. I will not tell you how many tutorials i will create in my future marathon

This is what we gone do today

Start a new document in photoshop
The size should be 800 x 700 pixels
background color: #29251c

Select Rectangle Tool, and make 2 shapes on your layout ( next image is zoomed out to 66 % )

We will create a new pattern because we will need it
Open a new document in Photoshop
This document should be 40x40 pixels with a transparent background.

Now create a new layer ( Press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N )
Select Paint Bucket Tool and fill this layer with black ( this layer we will delete at the end of the tutorial )

Now zoom your document to 1600 %

Create another layer ( press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N )

Select Pencil tool. Change the brush size to 1 pixel and make the following drawing whith a white color.
The next image is zoomed by 1600 %

Delete the black layer

Then Go to Edit > define pattern
Chose a name for your pattern and click ok

Then return to the layout document. Select Rectangular marquee Tool and make a selection

Create a new layer ( press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+N )
Select paint bucket tool
Set the settings as in the following image ( use the pattern from above )

Then click one time inside the selection

Press on the " Add layer mask button "

Select Gradient Tool
Set the foreground color to black, and the background color to white
And start drawing a simple vertical line ( follow the red arrow )

Then reduce the opacity for this layer with diagonal lines

Select Rounded Rectangle tool ( set the radius to 3 pixels ) and start drawing a shape
please use the following color for this shape #1e1a0f

Then add a image with some clouds

Then Change the layer mode to Vivid Light

The next step is to add more details. for example i will add a lighthouse

Then i will add some grass. this you can add with some brushes or just simply search with google some nice " bushes "
In my case i have used a grass brush. I am sure you can find some good brushes over the internet. One day i will post some of my brushes

Then make a selection like me. be sure you have the layer with the green grass selected,

then press delete on your keyboard. And deselect your selection ( to deselect press CTRL+D )

Now create some buttons on your layout

Then add the following layer styles for this buttons. In the same time with the Type tool, create also some text, and place it on your button

As i have told you i will add also some text on the buttons, and i will add also in another part of the layout. this is a very simple task ( With the Type tool ) you can add text where do you think it fits better

Then i will add some images, and a square ( with Rectangle Tool ) For this rectangle tool use the following layer style

This is the result

Then add another details. Select Rounded Rectangle tool ( set the radius to 5 pixels ) and make some shapes on your layout

Then add the following layer stles

Add the same layer styles for all the shapes and you will get this result
You can see that i have added also another text. This small squares are perfect for images, i don't have right now some images , that's why i have used this shapes

Now select Type Tool, and write some minus dots " ...... "
rasterize the type ( Go to Layer > Rasterize > Type )

And place the doted line like me

Then add a text logo and i think you are done with this layout

1. Open a New Document in Photoshop. Good working space will be 500x500 width/height.
2. Create a new layer. Name it "Encasing".
3. Select black as your foreground color, then select the Elipse Tool.
4. Draw a black circle oval.

5. Right click the "Encasing" layer, select "Blending Options" from the pop-up list.
6. Set the "Drop Shadow" properties to the following:

11. You should now have the metalic foundation for your encasing.

12. Create a new layer. Name it "Opening".
13. Choose the color you want for the inside of the encasing, then select the Elipse Tool.
14. Draw an oval shape over the upper portion of the metalic oval.

15. Right click the "Opening" layer, select "Blending Options" from the pop-up list.
16. Set the "Inner Shadow" properties to the following:

17. Your metal encasing is now complete.

18. Create a new layer. Name it "Orb".
19. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool.
20. Hold down the SHIFT key and create a perfect circle selection over the opening of the metal encasing.

21. Select the Gradient Tool. Set the gradient from white to black.

22. Using the Gradient Cursor, drag from the top left to the bottom right of the circle selection.

23. Create a new layer between the "Opening" layer and the "Orb" layer. Name it "Shadow".
24. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool. Create an oval selection for the shadow of the orb.

25. Goto Select > Feather. Set Feather Radius to "2". Click OK.
26. With black as your foreground color, select the Paint Bucket tool. Fill in the selection with black.
27. Click Ctrl+D to deselect.
28. Select the Move Tool and adjust your shadow.
29. You're done!

1. Create a new 340x340 pixel document and name it Aqua Button. Now make a pattern of your choice and make it the background. Then show channels, and create a new channel.

2. Next in the new 'alpha 1' channel, select the elliptical marquee tool, and make a circle with 70 x 70 pixel dimensions. This will be the rounded edges of your button. Next select the rectangular marquee tool. You will want to start the selection right near the top middle part of the circle, and then drag it out to the right until the height is 70 pixels as well. If it's not completely aligned with the circle after your done selecting, then use the arrow keys to adjust then fill, the selection with white. See image to the right.

3. Now you will have something like a rectangle, but one end is a half circle. Now make a selection of the half circle and some of the rectangle, like this:

Now you want to flip the selection horizontally, then click and drag the selection to the right so it matches up. If you are having trouble matching the edges up, Try holding down shift, it locks the image to the x, y and x+y axis while dragging. Then you want to align the image to the vertical and horizontal centers.

4. Now you want to load the selection from the alpha channel. Then show layers, and create a new layer and name it 'button back'. Show colors, and use the color [R: 66, G: 127, B: 180]. Then fill the selection. Now my pill is about 270 width by about 70 height. Now remember that if you are doing a smaller size, you might get a wierd outcome. Best idea is to make it the same size as mine, and shrink it later. Now deselect.

5. Now in the next few steps we are going to apply many layer blending options to the button back layer. First off we will apply bevel and emboss with these settings

6. Press D, to reset foreground color to black. Now apply a gradient overlay with these settings

In the Gradient box, Select the Foreground to Transparent (Second Option). Note that the box may not be black, but select it anyways.

7. Now the last two styles you can add. The first one is an inner shadow with these settings

Then finally do satin with these settings

8. Now load the selection from the 'button back' layer and contract the selection by 10 pixels. Then contract the selection by 6 pixels. Then feather the selection by 7 pixels. Now you are going to Layer > New Layer.., and a window should pop up. You want this window to popup, that's why we create a new layer by going through the menu. Now in this new window, name it 'bottom highlight' make the Mode: Color Dodge, and then check the box 'Fill with Color-Dodge-neutral color (black). Now press ok, then Press D then X to reset the foreground and background colors. Now fill the selection with white. Then change the fill percentage to about 40%. Then hold shift and press the down arrow twice. Then load the selection from the 'button back' layer again, and inverse the selection, then press delete. Now deselect.

9. Next, create a layer mask on the 'button back' layer. Now load the selection from the 'button back' layer, and contract the selection by 10 pixels, then contract it by 6 pixels, then feather it by 7 pixels. Now click on the layer mask.

and fill the selection with 45% Gray [R: 161, G: 161, B:161]. Then deselect, and gaussion blur the layer mask about 18 points.

10. Next, select the rectangular marquee tool, and create a selection like this:

which is 200 pixels wide and 20 pixels tall. Then show channels and create a new channel. Now fill the selection (with white). Deselect, then distort the white area like this, and hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift for the effect to be equal on both sides. Now apply a gaussion blur with settings [Radius: 10 pixels]. Now you will want to adjust levels with these settings

11. Now load the selection from that alpha channel and show layers. Make a new layer, name it 'upper highlight'. Press D to reset the foreground and background colors, then select the gradient tool. Now select the linear gradient, and drag from the bottom of the selection to the top, like so.

Then change the 'upper highlight' layers blending mode to 'Screen' and the opacity to 75%.

12. Finally, click on the horizontal type tool and then click in the button where you want text. Type in your text, and make sure your foreground color is black. Then you want to drag the type layer inbetween the 'upper hightlight' layer and the 'bottom highlight' layer. Now apply a drop shadow with these settings:

Almost done! Select the 'button back' layer and apply a drop shadow with these settings

There you have a cool looking aqua/glass button or pill.
