L'ideatore, Tatsuo Yoshida, collaborando con una serie di altri autori, creò una serie di anime in cui il tema portante doveva essere quello del viaggio nel tempo(anche se non è sviluppato in tutti), condotto da due team rivali, uno alla ricerca di qualcosa che possa portare alla conquista del mondo, o semplicemente di soldi o potere e l'altro con lo scopo di fermarlo.

Fanno parte di questo filone (cito i nomi italiani per essere più chiara) : La macchina del tempo, Calendar Man, Yattaman e I predatori del tempo, ed altri anime che purtroppo non sono mai comparsi in Italia; l'intento di queste serie era volutamente demenziale.

I cattivi ed i buoni sono molto stereotipati : gli uni belli e gli altri brutti, o intelligenti e stupidi,o onesti e disonesti ecc... senza particolari cambiamenti di sorta; ovviamente si tratta di anime molto leggeri  in cui i nemici hanno un obiettivo, per raggiungere il quale trovano ogni volta sgangherati piani d'azione, e gli "amici" il compito di fermarli.

Un'altra costante della serie Time Bokan è la presenza di robot più o meno tecnologici con cui i protagonisti combattono; i miei preferiti erano quelli in miniatura, il cui tema cambiava di volta in volta, che comparivano in "Yattaman" e lottavano tra loro in una sorta di mini guerra robotica.

Non credo di aver mai visto una puntata in cui i cattivi abbiano vinto, ma di certo sono i più popolari della serie: deformi, superstereotipati e stupidi, in Giappone hanno avuto all'epoca un successo strepitoso, tanto da essere citati in altri anime e oggetto dei disegni dei fan che arrivavano periodicamente ale emittenti che trasmettevano Time Bokan.

Głównym motywem tego anime jest klasyczna walka dobra ze złem, tutaj reprezentowana przez dwie drużyny - bohaterskich Yattamanów oraz złodziei z gangu Drombo. Szajka ta kontrolowana jest przez tajemniczego Dokurobei, nieznanego z wyglądu szefa gangu Drombo. Głównym celem jest zdobycie mistycznego kamienia Dokuro (w nowej wersji - Pierścieni Dokuro) - mającego moc spełnienia pragnień osób, które go odnajdą. Złodzieje wyruszają w podróż bez ograniczeń, odwiedzając najbardziej egzotyczne miejsca na świecie oraz przekraczając bariery czasu i przestrzeni.

Yatterman to sympatyczna komedia anime, wypełniona sympatycznymi gagami z udziałem dobrze zarysowanych postaci bohaterów. Do legendy już przeszły tragiczne wypadki, jakie stają się udziałem pechowych złodziei, co odcinek karanych za nie wykonanie misji przez bezlitosnego szefa. Widać, że autorzy postanowili zmienić kilka rzeczy, by dopasować klasyczną produkcję pod oczekiwania współczesnych widzów. Główny bohater - Gan Chan - jest w remake leniwym i roztrzepanym geniuszem stojącym w opozycji do bardzo zorganizowanej i odpowiedzialnej Ai-Chan. Bohaterka jest znacznie słodsza niż jej poprzednie wcielenie.

Pozostałe elementy są bez zmian: nadal mamy do czynienia z serialem w którym scierają się dwie drużyny robotów (w arsenale Yattermanów znajdziemy różne mechy nawiązujące do zwierząt: Yatta-Pies, Yatta-King, Yatta-Pelikan, Yatta-Byk, Yatta-Panda, Yatta-Dojira i inne). Wisienką jest tu możliwość produkowania małych robocików przez duże mechy po nakarmieniu ich specjalnym, dodającym energii przysmakiem (w przypadku psa jest to kość). Gdy robot połknie przysmak uruchamiają się specjalne fanfary i z wnętrza robota wychodzą oddziały małych robocików. Na koniec spieszę z ekscytującą informacją, że w 2009 roku planowana jest emisja filmu kinowego Yatterman, wyreżyserowanego przez Takashi Miike. Novelist and screenwriter Jinzo Toriumi died of liver cancer on Thursday morning at a hospital in Shinjuku. He was 78. A funeral service will be held on the 20th.

Toriumi was involved in many television projects throughout his career, especially in animation. Until the late 1970s, he worked for Tatsunoko Production, planning and writing series such as "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" and "Yatterman."

now, the other two members have been revealed, namase katsuhisa and kobayashi kendo.

namase katsuhisa is that guy who played the head teacher in gokusen 1 and 2. lololol. he was also in 14 sai no haha, as a serious father. xD he's a good actor indeed.

It was rumored in December that actress Kyoko Fukada had been chosen for the part of Doronjo in Takashi Miike's version of "Yatterman." Now the rumor has been confirmed, placing Fukada opposite the Yatterman hero team, played by Sho Sakurai and Saki Fukuda.

Filming is set to begin in March, while release is scheduled for spring 2009. The casting for Doronjo's henchmen has not yet been revealed.
